Not sure about "BBW" since she is a s skinny as a stick now. However, if Vivid ever expands into the Meth Mouth fetish arena then she will be a shoe in. Hard to believe she is only 25.....

^Wonder how that worked out for them since it was private in a non-disclosed location? I did not see anything about them finding it...

Parks and Flood Insurance
OISU8P replied to OISU8P's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks, I am interested in the business side of the industry as a side hobby. I know this is a park by park basis on the scenario and am trying to learn more about actual process that parks need to deal with on a capital vs. operations perspective on a DR situations. -
Since there are two parks impacted I was not sure which to post this in. I also did not see this any any, but may have missed it. Are Amusement Parks required to have Flood Insurance? The topic is somewhat personal for me from experience. When I lived in Western PA, my house was in a fifty year flood plain. I could not get mortgaged without it it. So I got the insurance. Two Hurricanes ripped through and my whole yard was flooded and not the interior of my house. Years later a major mold problem developed inside that I spent $1000's to eliminate and was found after the time I could make a claim. I was required to have this though, because my house was not paid off. A few elderly people in my area did not need this, since their mortgage was paid off. Some lost almost everything and where not as lucky as me. So if a park is financed in any way and in a flood plain do they need this? If they are fully owned and not financed, do they still need it as a liability for the staff and patrons? Thus a worker was harmed during a flash flood, would the liability be covered under normal insurance? I know in my case I needed the flood insurance for anyone injured in my house. I need to find the online flood plain topo graph I used for my old house when selling it. I would not be surprised if these two parks are on a much lesser than fifty year given the creeks flow right through the parks.

I can not believe the front gate photo for today... Looks like nothing ever happened. They must have been working around the clock. Just WOW to the crew there and hope they get pat on the back for a job well done. -

I wonder how the Haunted Mansion made out from the flood. It has been many years, but I believe many of the stunts where made from paper and plaster. This was one of the best classic dark ride I have ever seen. -

^It was a hit at the folks (not here) but on various sites who are blowing the 2 bison way out of proportion. People lost their lives and homes and all these folks can post about are two animals that where euthanized in the most human way possible given the situation. Sad it is, but Bison (as in the picture) are a popular food source that can be found in most grocery markets and slaughtered in worse ways everyday. It may be over the edge, and apologize if I offended you. -

They just updated their Facebook pictures. I would be surprised if they open again this year after seeing those.... -
I wonder why they painted the structure knowing they where going to add this to it. You figure they would have waited until doing the painting, since the new paint may get some scuffs during the install... Anyways, this does look intense. The highest drop ride I have been on is either Pitt Fall KW or Power Tower at CP (even though this is not true drop). I can not remember which is higher. However, those seemed high and this is almost twice that.... I have not been to this park YET. However, it sounds like a solid addition for them.

Missed this earlier. Probably will go this way... 1. Some law firm will help them get a lawsuit on discrimination. 2. Some dumb judge will rule in their favor. 3. Playland will need to spend millions to pay them and go bankrupt. 4. The Islam League of New York (or whatever the hell they are called) will use new funds to buy Playland. 5. Now all women are required to wear Muslim headwear in the park. 6. Anyone who sues because of this will loss because it goes against their freedom of religion and are now consider a minority establishment. -

Wonder what they do with the women if in county jail? They have to wear a hajib anywhere in public eye. How does that play out in jail where you have a uniform or whatever it is called? -

^ I hope they go with an eight lane Octopus Racer or the new Kraken Racer model. I have been on an Octopus and regular racer and liked the Octopus a little better. It was kind of a nice little element to go into the tunnel curve prior to the bumpy down. -

From the Article: Wait, only two of those Dino's mentioned existed in the Jurassic Period (Angustinaripterus and Stegosaurus) I believe (but could be wrong). The rest I believe are from the Cretaceous Period. It looks like someone never went to the museum as a kid. Just kidding, I know what his intentions where. Oh well, I guess Kinzel thought he needed to add Dino's to the park because he was leaving as the largest one wondering the midway. -
How is the park doing this years from those that go there from the area on a financial perspective? I know they had some major problems with previous management and money. I have not seen much in the community on where they stand on financials and curious if they rounded the bend or not. I know they where beating the Pepsi thing a few times but have not seen anything from that recently. Does it look like they have a small plan to restore now over the years and getting out of the red? Previous management seemed to try to make the park the attraction for the area instead of a compliment the area. Does new mgmt know the actual attraction is the lake and by levering it properly can provide some attendance here and there? The last pictures I have seen do not provide a good ROI if not done properly is why I am asking. I can see this as time goes a long shot to get back with the proper mentality, patience and a few extra $. However, I have not been in the area more than twenty years and not sure how the current market is. This also brings up another question. How supportive is the local government and community? This makes the difference on that support.

that sums it up perfectly. +1 on that.

^Trust me, I know what you mean.... I have had few bad crowds though (go on the Penn Hill Days for example. They should close the park for regular guests that day). As far as Noah's Ark goes, they half a$$ed it. I believe it was due to finding the structure of the boat being worse and needing a full rebuild. However, the theme never has been realized in later years and no attempt to fix it. Just sad to see a great classic go this way. The original idea they where doing was original and would have been a good redo. The Old Mill is just well, I will leave that alone for now. I understand why they originally did (please see back to my original statement on the clientele), I just hope the new mgmt reverses it. Edit: Wanted to add that my post was not to mean that I think the park is going away. I just feel that it was at one point a destination park. In recent years it seems to be an extra stop along the way to other parks (such as Hershey, Kings Island and CP) that could be missed if time needed be be gained to get between to the others. -

I used to love this park when I was growing up. It was my home park and I have many fond memories of it from the 80's and early 90's. I have not been back in a few years and do not plan on it in the next year or so. Part is because I moved across the country and do not have the same access as before. I am however going back to the area for two weeks in July and cut it from my list. The place is in the middle of one of the most depressed areas of Pittsburgh and thus gets that crowd in my last few years of visits. Given this, I also heard many of the dark rides (such as Noak's Ark) are in despair... I just personally do not see a bright future for this park given demographics and such. I see them surviving, but not going beyond that anymore. -

I believe GG did some track maint for them on their woodies the past few years and that is why they were on there. I have heard rumblings in the past about them doing a coaster if they do the expansion. However, I can not remember if that was just someones "wish list" item.
