  1. ^I believe is getting a nice size rehab that includes the electrical system. Given the age of the ride, it is probably not easy to rehab due to the availability of parts and such.
  2. I believe it is $5, which is not a bad price at all. However, get there early though on busy days. I have had the preferred lot fill up on me before 11:00 AM.
  3. New Music Express in 2013. I wonder if they are fitting it in a current area or removing something for it? Full Article: http://www.goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2012305099894
  4. You actually captured my girlfriends car in your picture. You must not get to Halloweekends very often do you? All of those are Halloweekends related, including the bridges which are not new at all. It's all good and just having some fun after my not knowing this was a recent picture. I looked at the photo quickly and it looked like pre-2003 to me and responded thinking someone had a photo of when it was being repainted. I tend to look at photos quickly to see if detail grabs me. If not, then you probably have been through marketing 101. . Kind of like how most folks hate how an iPhone video was created from a certain angle. This is just part of my long boring carrier and sometimes forget that I am on a not at work.
  5. ^^Great photos. But how did you get those of the carnival coaster with green supports that 99er could not get with his one off photo? You must have a great camera or taken multiple pictures at different angles. Yes, i am beating a dead horse for some fun... before anyone asks.
  6. Didn't know you wanted to get involved in the discussion there Mr Helper... Just kidding, saw you response after my last one. In short, what you responded to was a comment on in what my opinion is an over exposed photo. The supports where not the vibrant green that the ride was last year. Not sure if this was a result of a bad monitor on my side or a crap camera. I then looked at the photo closely and finally saw some green and purple.
  7. ^^actually you are probably not far off on how many people it takes to put one of these together or apart. I asked a carny from my last Butler Amusements show how long it took to take down their Zillerator Coaster. He said it can go up and down quick with the proper equipment and just a few people. I saw few posts on a site asking the question about "how are they going to have the area ready in time for opening with it going down this late?". I can not remember if it was here or not since I have been to busy laughing at the conspiracy theories around this decision at multiple sites. Anyways, the answer is that it has always been a fair coaster. Very easy to remove. It does not have footers and is balanced by wood blocks.
  8. It looks white and not green, but maybe the green is not picking up on my monitor. When looking closer I do see a the purple in the track. White Supports (pre-2003) http://www.rcdb.com/20.htm?p=894 Green Supports: (2003 - Present) http://www.rcdb.com/20.htm?p=20477
  9. I wonder what they where doing there? That appears to be the paint scheme pre-2003. Maybe they took it apart to paint it green and purple.
  10. ^Yes, I forgot S&S redid that coaster and took out the water features.
  11. I am not sure what video you where watching but is may have been drained. Here is a photo showing the splash down. http://www.rcdb.com/1903.htm?p=4129
  12. This is a good example of what Premier Rides considers one. http://www.rcdb.com/1903.htm
  13. ^I praise you one a good point.
  14. I was native to Pittsburgh for over thirty years and the reaction of locals sort of surprises me. Pittsburgh has always been a city rooted in blue collar and a "shot and beer" town. I never thought I would see the level of complaining from locals about beer that I have seen so far. I figured I would see more complaints about people not being able to walk around the park with it. Hell, one of the most poplar t-shirts I would always see in The Strip was "Pittsburgh, a beer drinking town with a football problem". I do know from living there for so many years that natives tend to resist change. That is the only thing I can think of what is causing the complaining about this. I need to look up the one persons response that they where going to go to Disney World this year instead because of the beer at Kennywood. That was just hilarious. First off, I hope see plans on avoiding Downtown Disney and Epcot. Second, why would you not go to Disney in the first place if you could afford it instead or in addition to. It is just funny that small area with controlled beer would be the factor in a larger financial decision like that.
  15. ^Wonderful... I live about ten minutes from Queen Creek (although that area does covers a lot of space). I will keep an eye out for him on the roadside stumbling around fighting with a coyote.
  16. Yep, thanks for reply. As I can see there are many places yet to be done for you and many more to come. Hope you enjoy them all as you empty the bucket list of travel.
  17. Not really Kennywood, but close enough Looks like a ProSlide Bullet Bowl for Sandcastle http://www.sandcastlewaterpark.com/site/attractions.html
  18. Robb, I have been on the site for a little while. I have seen may of your trip reports around the world (all look fun). I understand of course that there are probably many places you have not been. However, is there a place or two that you have always wanted to go and just have not made it yet (not just theme parks)? Also, has there been any major coasters that you have not been on (excluding anything new this year of course)? just curious...
  19. Exactly and thanks for saying it. I for one I would not even think of planing a trip to a park with wondering how I was going to get a buck or two back from a card. If I where that strapped for cash, I would just stay home. Really, a few dollars is going to break a few folks bank? If so, then maybe they need to stay home instead and focus on increasing the home bank. Now back to "myself's" picture update which is great. Well, the assertion that it's "a buck or two" is an assumption on your part. It's likely to be more than that unless somebody is making a lot of trips to the kiosk, only putting a few bucks on the card at a time. Having said that, it's rather pompous on your part to suggest that unless people can afford to throw away money, regardless of the denomination, that they aren't worth having as customers. Would giving up a few dollars break my bank? No. I can afford to go every year. Sometimes more than once. Doesn't mean that I don't know people who need to save up to go every couple of years. Doesn't mean that I don't know people who will drive to Waldameer instead of Kennywood, which is closer, because it's a better value and with the money they save can afford to get away for a weekend rather than a day. Trust me, I did not mean for the post to be pompous. Let me clarify a little more on my reasoning. I for one do not have money to just burn by no means I do plan out and budget any trip I make and try to stay on budget. If I go a little over than I do and just plan for that also. There are many tripe I would love to go on that are just not feasible at this point. I do not try to force them within a budget and just adjust down to something I can afford and have fun with that. I have found that it is much more relaxing to do this than have to watch every buck and worry about going way over. Just a personal preference. Now about Waldameer and this whole buck thing and were that gets me. I a person complaining about this and saying they where just going to go to customer service and demand the reaming back. It was either on there blog, facebook or some news article. I can try to dig it back up if needed. Does a parks customer service really need to deal with people like that? I had first hand experience lately with someone like that. My wife and I went out to a local bar with a few couples for happy hour. One of the couples fake dropped a almost empty pitcher of beer claiming that the table was wobbling. They argued with management over getting a free one. I just offered to pay for one just to make the situation go away. However, they kept pressing the issue with the bars manager. I finally had enough and was embarrassed to be associated with them and left. These are the types of folks I am refereeing to in my post. Not the hard working guy or girl who appreciates what they are getting for their dollar. Sorry if that was confused. Also, I figured the gas prices to get to Erie from Pittsburgh would offset any savings they got on admission and such. Well, at least maybe this year it will

  21. Well, they can scratch the battery life fix off the list as it still sucks for my iPhone 4. Maybe it is better on the 4S though. Also, unlocking the main screen seem to have a delay now.

  23. ^More here. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/27/costa-ship-fire-idUSL5E8DR9QY20120227?feedType=RSS&feedName=cyclicalConsumerGoodsSector&rpc=43
  24. Did CP mention if they are putting lights on both sides of the wheel? I know the park facing side is a given, just not sure if they are on the lake facing side. Sort of how KP has lighting only on the park facing side of Aero 360.
  25. Thanks for the heads up. I just downloaded to my AT&T iPhone so that I can be familiar with it for my next trip. It seems to be working, even though it still has Verizon in the name.
