  1. Haven't really been following progress on this one, but after looking through the last few updates- wow. I thought the one at Dollywood was impressive enough. This one, though... Also: lmao
  2. CO - Cyclone FL - Kumba GA - Goliath IL - Batman The Ride IN - Voyage IA - Outlaw KY - Lightning Run MD - Superman Ride of Steel MI - Shivering Timbers MN - Steel Venom MO - Outlaw Run NJ - El Toro NY - Cyclone OH - Maverick PA - Storm Runner/Skyrush (impossible to choose between them, and Phantom's Revenge isn't too far behind, either) SC - Swamp Fox (Not been to Carowinds yet) TN - Tennessee Tornado (I get the feeling this might change before long...) VA - Apollo's Chariot WI - Hades I think that's it. Obviously missing a few states that I hope to visit eventually- not going to rank something I haven't ridden or even seen in person.
  3. Whatever the ones at Cedar Point are- those are the very worst drop towers I've ever ridden. I rode each option once years ago the first time I went to the park (a year or two prior to the addition of TTD), and it was so underwhelming that I never bothered with them since- until last year. I figured there was no way they were as bad as I remembered, and the opportunity presented itself in the form of no line. They are essentially floorless, outdoor elevators. I realize it's probably just the program they run, though. The one at Indiana Beach (double shot?) had a bit more bite.
  4. It was harmless until everyone felt the need to get in on the action.
  5. I'm just a little surprised that the park that came up with Acrophobia (once upon a time not too long ago) is now apparently utilizing focus groups consisting of 4 year-olds (or infiltrating Cedar Fair's marketing dept.) to come up with gold like Blue Hawk. Apart from that, I was a fan of the ride prior to any renovation, and am thrilled they chose to throw money at it (ensuring it's future) rather than getting rid of it- which I worried was a realistic possibility based on all the complaints it seemed to get. I'll happily ride it with it's ridiculous name.
  6. Had to actually go to OG's website to see for myself about "Blue Hawk", and yep, they're actually going to name it Blue Hawk.
  7. Great report. This will be the first time I have a Platinum Pass, so I'm looking forward to putting it to good use. The ultimate sleep-aid!
  8. Cedar Fair forgot and had to sleep on the couch.
  9. RMC's, S&S free spins, star flyers, giant frisbees, JL dark rides, next-gen Enterprises, etc are garbage? It should go without saying that RMC's are not what I meant. I wouldn't consider it an upgrade if Ninja (or some other full sized coaster)had been replaced with any of the others, though.
  10. It's incredible to me that this Ninja upgrade wasn't something that was being trumpeted as a "new for 2016". Superman Ride of Steel at SFNE has been marketed as a new attraction 3 times so far- once when it was actually new, once after getting a new coat of paint, being re-named, and receiving some shitty on-board audio, and again for being re-painted in it's original colors, being re-named a second time, and having it's shitty on-board audio replaced with shitty on-board VR. As someone who enjoys Ninja, I'm happy to see them use their resources to maintain and improve it rather than ripping it out and adding some of the garbage that other Six Flags parks have been seeing lately.
  11. If this were a Six Flags park, I'd tell you to sleep with one eye open forever.
  12. I bet it does. I'll try shotgunning a few Red Bulls next time I'm in line for Gatekeeper so that I'm not in SWS/Stage-3 sleep by the time we reach the big hill.
  13. It's probably just going to be the second half of the ride that they forgot to build in Gurnee.
  14. I'll be in Denver for a few days, so Elitch Gardens, unfortunately. I wonder if perhaps there are any recreational activities in Denver that might make visiting this pit a bit more entertaining...? I tried to work some Expedia gymnastics for the flight back to Chicago to squeeze a lengthy stopover in Salt Lake City so I could have a few hours at Lagoon, but it's very late in the game, and they want a lot of money + one of my kidney and some more money.
  15. This would probably be my plan of attack if I'm ever making a trip for a new coaster. It would have saved a lot of people a lot of grief. I'm 3 hours away with a season pass and love going to ride grand openings (even if it is basically soft open) so no huge risk and I'll be back a few more times before the end of the year anyways. 3 hours is reasonable- I was thinking along the lines of those needing more than a day trip to accommodate a visit.
  16. This would probably be my plan of attack if I'm ever making a trip for a new coaster. It would have saved a lot of people a lot of grief.
  17. I've heared this element referred to as The B&M Mistake. I love it- it's fairly aggressive and catches you off guard the first few times. Goliath is probably my favorite of the Six Flags B&M Hypers. I just wish (applicable to all B&M Hypers not named Apollo's Chariot or Raging Bull) that it came with the dip at the top of the lift hill.
  18. It would be a far greater loss if it were a 2nd-Gen Intamin Drop instead of a Gyro-Drop. It would still suck, though, as would removing Flight Deck or Invertigo.
