  1. The more I see photos of Cosmoworld the more it confirms the park has the coolest backdrop with the skyscrapers of Yokohama. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more Japan pics.
  2. That's the reason why I originally asked here on TPR. It's pretty sad that a park that needs to keep people abreast on what's going on at the park does very little to promote the park and possible new attractions in social media circles. No teasers of upcoming attractions and events to help create a buzz and no construction updates on Blast Off and the remodeled area around it last winter are quite disappointing. Fantasy Island at least knows how to make the social media work in their favor. Maybe Darien could learn a few things from them.
  3. Well HFE is already in the process of fixing up the property and their efforts so far look great. Any hints or ideas as to what area of the park will be next for improvements? As long as the park continues to make the needed improvements as well as continue improving customer service attendance will increase.
  4. Didn't know they were having the holiday lights this year. Surprised they don't advertise it in the Cleveland area since Kennywood does a lot of TV and billboard advertising in the summer.
  5. Windbreaker, the only ride where breaking wind can be so pleasureable.

  7. I forgot about the Looping Starship since they are so rare, especially in my neck of the woods. That is another one I make sure to ride at least once if a park has one.
  8. Troika and Calypso at Cedar Point Bayern Kurve at Kennywood Any oberservation tower
  9. I usually tend to go on my big park trip of the year around Father's Day (mid-June) and have been lucky to have relatively low crowds. Went to Kings Dominion around that time in 2012 and the park was dead though the weather may have had a factor in that (cloudy, looking like it was going to rain but it didn't).
  10. Great to see RMC branch out into foreign markets. With the advances in wood coaster technology I wonder if Alton Towers or Thorpe will revisit the wood coaster idea in the future.
  11. Is this the factory that was next to the park near Kissing Tower?
  12. Personally I think SFStL doesn't need anouther wood coaster They already have a fine collection with Screamin' Eagle, Boss, and American Thunder. The park lacks inversions and I'd rather see something of significant size (140-150 feet high) with several unique inversions. A B&M sit down or floorless would be a fine addition.
  13. Maybe this could be filed in the "out there" files but after looking over a map of the U.S. I can't see why a mid-sized park couldn't open in Omaha, which seems like a sizeable enough city to support one. Only competition is Adventureland in Des Moines.
  14. SFGAm still has their Schwarzkopf Enterprise, Monster and Calypso. Not sure if there is a market for them but they would be fine additions to Gerstlauer's lineup if they created newer models of these rides. They already offer a Polyp.
  15. Put the heartline at the top of the hill after Maverick's second launch, kind of like the "flying snake dive" on Storm Runner after the dive loop and then drop down towards the water.
  16. Flying Coasters. The Vekomas are tolerable since you are on your back on the brake run but on the B&M's, sitting on the brake run waiting for the next train to dispatch gets uncomfortable.
  17. The long straight section on Ride of Steel at Darien Lake and replace with another airtime hill. Change the turn around on Diamondback to be like the turnaround on Carowinds' Intimidator.
  18. The one ride I'd like to see more of are the Technical Park Loop Fighters. Martin's Fantasy Island's Mind Warp is the most insane Frisbee style ride I've been on.
  19. Chance's Revolution was designed by KMG, based on the brochure from Chance's website, so while it didn't come from KMG directly I guess the ride could be accredited to them. Dorney, Hershey, Knott's and CGA have this model. Martin's Fantasy Island has teased that they are getting a new thrill ride next year and it is rumored to be KMG Speed, which is like one of those Skyscraper rides. Dorney's Revolution taken June 2005
  20. Just a hypothetical queston but waht if Six Flags is taking a different approach at St. Louis as compared to the larger parks in the chain? If the family park concept is working well enough and the company is pleased with the return they are getting from it then in their mindset they think why change the formula. SFGAm is pretty much servicing the same Midwest region as SFStL and SFGAm will get more due to being a bigger park in a bigger market.
  21. ^Canada's Wonderland's is a Huss Skylab, just like the one Kings Island used to have. The only American Fly Away installation was at Six Flags New England, which has been removed. Also Lagoon in Utah has a Zamperla Air Race. Still waiting for a park in my neck of the woods to install one.
  22. Unless they tried to squeeze in a compact Euro-fighter with the cars themed as sleighs. Would at least give the park a steel looping coaster.
  23. Give them time and Mack knock-offs will appear in the future. I'm still amazed at the amount of new parks opening in China even if the quality isn't top notch. They have to be close to or past the amount of parks the country can sustain. I have a feeling that Shanghai Disneyland is going to put some of these parks out of business.
  24. Definitely X Flight. I think the wing coasters work better as a smaller ride rather than a larger ride plus it seems to have a more fluid layout than Gatekeeper.
  25. They'd be stupid if they dropped Herschend at this point. HFEC has done more to that property than Six Flags and PARC combined so why stop the momentum now?
