  1. Any idea as to how tall this one will be? I can't see Adventureland building a full 300-foot tower like the CF parks have.
  2. Takabisha (Fuji Q)
  3. Not to put down Darien Lake but this sure seems anticlimatic after Nik crossed Niagara Falls a couple years ago.
  4. ^Heath died right before "The Dark Knight" came out. He never got to enjoy the accolades he well-deserved for his portrayal of The Joker.
  5. What a quick turn of events at Valley Hills. Seemed like everything was going fine as they've mede a few smart decisions when it came to new attractions. I see a sale may be in the park's future if things don't turn out right. Looking forward to seeing how this story plays out.
  6. A B&M stand-up seems like an unusual choice for a smaller park but it worked for Kentucky Kingdom. My guess is the next few years will be more flats and non-ride additions, which the park needs at this time.
  7. The live action part of the movie, at first, felt like it threw the momentum of the movie off a bit but once it tied into the rest of the movie it made sense. I don't go to the movies very often but The LEGO Movie was intriguing enough to see it. I really enjoyed it. BTW, does Cloud Cuckoo Land in the movie have any relation to the Cloud Cuckoo Land at Alton Towers?
  8. Souvenir park maps have always been my favorite through very very few parks sell them anymore. Park map and guides I do like to collect as a souvenir.
  9. I have yet to visit BGT for the first time but I'm very impressed with the makeover to Pantopia. The various colors make the area vibrant compared to the original Timbuktu's colors. Those watercolor renderings are awesome. Would make a nice piece of art to hang on the wall.
  10. Do we really need to go 500 feet? For what it would cost to go that high you could probably build two kick a$$ Intamin rides.
  11. Wow, everything looks stunning! I was afraid this was going to be one of those Chinese parks where the theming is "nice" but with a closer look would be cheap looking.
  12. I really like that idea since it would give us something to do when storms hit the peninsula, especially if they were to put a roof over it. Being crammed in the big midway arcade or shops can get uncomfortable. It's an ideal location being central to Breakers, Sandcastle, Camper Village, Lighthouse Point, and the Magnum entrance.
  13. From my own observations Challenge Park doesn't really seem to draw a lot of guests being that you'd have to get your hand stamped to visit it. While that is not a big deal for me personally it may seem inconvenient to most. The attractions in Challenge Park, excluding the go-carts, may see more business if they were located within the park proper instead of being located off the beaten path. As someone had already mentioned Kings Island's Sling Shot and Xtreme Skyflyer are very popular, plus much more of a bargain than what most parks charge for similar attractions.
  14. I'm actually a bit disappointed. Kennywood does not need franchised food outlets.
  15. Interesting that Chickie and Pete's has expanded into other parks in the chain yet Pink's hasn't or was CP the only park in the chain to get Pinks outside of Knott's?
  16. ^Why are you surprised? Darien Lake seems like it fits within Herschend's type of parks, or at least has the potential to fit in. With a little more work it could be, and this is a stretch, Silver Dollar City Northeast.
  17. Thank you so much for those off season photos. What a great way to warm up on these bone chilling days as of late. Those LED's on X Scream are going to look sharp at night. Love the photo of Steel Dragon from the top of the lift since that is a hard ride to get good photos of.
  18. I like it! It looks a little more clean and streamlined, if those are the correct terms, over the older version.
  19. IIRC the go-carts are where the Skycoaster is next to Boss (right?) and I'd rather see them expand the Britannia theme into that spot as it is a more unique theme idea than another Wild West area.
  20. ^Screamin' Eagle is a much more iconic ride than Rolling Thunder was. Besides what hurt RT more was El Toro being right next to it.
  21. Interesting color scheme. When I first saw it Dorney's Monster came to mind. Photo taken in 2005
  22. That was ultra cool, Robb! Would you consider that a credit? The prototype alone could be S&S's answer to the Zamperla Disk'O Coasters. All they would need is a Vekoma Boomerang style lift to pull the car up and release it. I look forward to seeing a full-scale ride built in the near future. Nice to see they still have a lot of Arrow parts. Even though they have the Free Fly and new Free Fly X I'd still like to see them bring back the suspended coaster.
  23. At least it's not a knock-off (unless it is disguised as a B&M).
  24. ^I was referring to rides like Maverick which seems more like a terrain ride than iSpeed, which looks much more compact.
  25. As much as I like B&M I'd like to see more Mack rides built here and not another Wild Mouse. A Blue Fire style ride, not necessarily a clone, would give the park both a much needed sit down looper as well as a launched coaster. Though nothing wrong with Intamin but I just don't forsee another Maverick style ride any time soon.
