There is a new Vacation Movie Coming Out
Geauga Dog replied to John Peck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hopefully an updated version of Lindsey Buckingham's "Holiday Road" will be used in the movie. -

Repaint Raptor and you get rid of the best "themed" ride in the park There's more bird poop on that ride than any other I've seen there. -

HWFan, I want to thank you for the behind the scenes info. I enjoy reading them as it gives a different take on what goes on in areas we don't get to see as guests. I definitely want to return again someday. -
Cedar Fair Rankings
Geauga Dog replied to Snowyowl1028's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of the parks I've been to: 1. Kings Island 2. Kings Dominion 3. Cedar Point 4. Knott's Berry Farm 5. Carowinds 6. Dorney Park 7. Michigan's Adventure I've been to Worlds of Fun, Canada's Wonderland, and Great America but that was before CF bought the parks thus they don't get included. -
Best Pendulum Flat Ride?
Geauga Dog replied to canadianparkfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been on several different models and while I love the Huss Giant Frisbees I prefer the Zamperla Giant Discovery. Overall they are among my favorite flat rides. Intamin Looping Starships are great rides too despite the restraints. -

Beautiful photos - the best I've seen yet of Fury. The colors really stand out on a bright sunny day. It's great that CF is somewhat making their newest rides more marquee by making them interact with their entrances. It's a good way to get the adrenaline going before you even enter the park. The new entrance looks great though I miss the plantation house that used to be there. -

It has been my understanding that the trains were left out in the elements to rot. Not sure how true this is. -

A reproduced Big Dipper would end up with PTC's or even Timberliners which would not make it the same ride. Those roomy NAD style trains with well cushioned seats were probably the most comfortable trains to ride in. Plus given the bastardization of CP's Blue Streak as an example you would probably also have head rests and seat dividers. -

I-X Indoor Amusement Park Question
Geauga Dog replied to IdahoKat's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They've started advertising for this year's event and the Spinning Mouse will be back this year. Also they are advertising Sea Lion Splash, which sounds like the same show that was at Darien Lake a couple seasons' ago. More than likely they will have the KMG Freak Out, which is probably the most popular ride there. Nothing like swinging close to the ceiling on that one. -

Walking into the park Fury would be to the right which is North Carolina. -

I found Diamondback and Intimidator Carowinds to be pretty much equal though I like Diamondback's layout better. Back seat or at least towards the back on Diamondback has some nice pops of air and night rides are excellent (though not nearly as epic as The Beast's). -

^They should just eliminate Oktoberfest altogether and merge it with International Street. Also don't forget Chinese food. Maybe the old Tower Gardens will just be an open area for the time being. One or two small family flats would be a nice addition that would not totally destroy the area. -

Under Paramount it was pretty cool with the movie artifacts but it truly became a big dead space after CF came along. I'm glad that this area is getting some attention. -
And what is wrong with a Tilt-A-Whirl? Classic family ride that is still relatively popular, especially if they theme it. Look at Turkey Whirl at Holiday World. Tilt-A-Whirl would fit in better with Rowdy's Ridge than the Ranger did. You can't exactly use Cedar Fair's disaster with Geauga Lake as an example. They bought it to cannibalize it and get rid of their competition. We all know that Darien Lake has huge potential it just needs someone willing to open their wallets to let it happen. Obviously CNL is not that company, unfortunately, because they could have had a gold mine.

They closed all of the Northeast Ohio locations (there were about four or five in the area) on Christmas Eve last year. I know some of you would think that is the best Christmas present ever. -

I consider log flumes as one of those essential theme park rides and they should just get Hopkins to come in to do a full refurb like what Kings Island did with the old Kings Mills Flume that eventually became Wild Thornberry's/Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown.
