Looking at Google Maps of the park they seem landlocked now being in downtown Denver.

You also have park administration offices just to the right of the main entrance behind Planet Snoopy.

Thanks for the photos. The more photos of Banshee I see the more I want to get back down to KI (I have yet to start my coaster season). The new lighting on Shake Rattle & Roll looks fantastic.

IIRC Kings Island repainted King Cobra just a few years before it was removed so just because they repainted Shock Wave doesn't mean they will keep it. The space doesn't need to be used for another coaster - it would be a nice spot for a Giant Frisbee or a couple medium sized flats. In the end I just hope they don't start ripping down a large swath of trees. The lush canopies are one of the things I like about Kings Dominion.

Kings Island - the only park that has three coasters that hang below the track by different manufacturers (B&M, Arrow, and Vekoma) all in one area of the park.

Is Invertigo up and running yet? I don't ride it often due to the line but it is one of my favorites in the park.

The photo from inside the drop box just sent shivers down my spine from the thought of standing there not knowing when the floor will open. Having never experienced the water park at DL before this might get me to drive the four hours up there this year.

^I prefer to sit in the very back. Always had decent rides sitting there.

Bummer about the Giant Frisbee. That would have been a great addition to KD. Hopefully they will revisit the idea in the future and possibly go with Zamperla as their Giant Discovery rides are excellent.

Glad to hear that Rougarou turned out well. Mantis was a once a year ride for me and it's great that CP recycled it into something better. They have been advertising the ride around here as Cedar Point's first floorless coaster, as if Raptor, Gatekeeper, and Wicked Twister don't mean anything and making it sound like a second one is coming in the future - hmm Valravn?

First, KD Golden Years, thanks for the story on King Kobra. The ride at Hopi Hari was rethemed as a Superman coaster a few year's ago but not sure what's going on with the ride as if I recall reading elsewhere that Hopi Hari is having financial difficulties. I always found it odd that Kings Island gets the Arrow shuttle (Screamin' Demon) and the rest of the Taft parks get Schwarzkopf vertical shuttles (King Kobra and White Lightning) as well as Kings Island gets the Intamin Bounty (Viking Fury) and the rest of the Taft parks get the Intamin Looping Starships (Berserker and Frenzoid/Southern Star). As for the new coaster I had a feeling that maybe 2016 would be the year since the park has already remodeled the kid's area and is focusing on the water park this year. Now it's one thing that the parks that have a B&M hyper first "upgrade" to a B&M giga but to go from an Intamin giga to a B&M hyper would be somewhat lackluster. My thinking is this will be a wing coaster - the first on the East Coast. I also hope that a new main entrance will fit in with International Street rather than what has been done at CP and Carowinds.

Where is that located? I don't remember seeing that when I was at the park in 2010. I can imagine what it looked like back in the early days and I agree that it should be restored. Very happy to hear that Screamin' Eagle is running well. It ended up being my favorite ride in the park.

Other than Karacho this is one of my favorite Gerstlauer layouts.

Looks like an Orkanen clone though I've read here on TPR that it's a pretty good ride at Farup Sommerland.

I might be in the minority but I like how The Beast and The Bat slow down on the first hill. I just wish they'd get rid of the speakers on Beast.

Wasn't this ride badly modified while here in the States and has the ride been fixed to correct those modifications? I'd love to see it run again even if I never get a chance to ride it.

A spinning coaster is actually not a bad idea. Having been on all three - Zamperla, Maurer Sohne, and Gerstlauer - the Gerstlauer version has a bit more "kick" to it than the other two. If balanced just right you can get that car spinning like crazy.

Wow, that is going to look very sharp when completed and what a drastic change from what used to be Scooby Doo. Six Flags, as a company, gets a lot of flack for some of the things they do but when they do something like this it's impressive.

Don't forget about Zierer coasters. Knoebel's new Impulse and Lagoon's Wicked would be solid additions as well. Having a vertical lift and drop would be major selling points for the ride.

Euclid Beach Park - closed the year after I was born. Would love to go back and experience the Thriller and Flying Turns. As for "newer" parks that have closed the list would be Opryland, Australia's Wonderland/Wonderland Sydney and Astroworld.

Just want to thank everyone for their photos and reviews of Thunderbird. It's great to read that Holiday World got a great addition to the park. I hope to visit this year. I've been wondering - does anyone think the shorter trains make a difference compared to the longer trains on X Flight and Gatekeeper?

Southern Star at Carowinds and Endeavor at California's Great America. I've always liked Viking Fury at Kings Island, sitting on the side that swings over the pond. I haven't ridden it in a few years so that may be on my to do list when I go back this year.

Gemini is still a popular coaster and one of the biggest capacity rides the park has. If CP is going to get rid of a coaster it will more than likely be Iron Dragon or Mine Ride.

Very easy trip to do. Longest drive will be from Cedar Point to Kings Island, which is about four hours. KK and Holiday World will be at least 2.5 to 3 hours from Kings Island.
