  1. Yeah, you're probably the only one--sorry. That being said, the ride looks good--even the trains. Premier makes good launched shuttle coasters, and I hope this one holds up.
  2. The bellhops at the French ToT are particularly creepy.
  3. I'd say that Meltdown is the weakest slide at Water Country, but having a full "toboggan" helps. Glad you had fun in Virginia.
  4. Vekomas are always very photogenic. Well, except for Ninja at SFOG--that one just looks plain evil.
  5. Premier does a great job with launched shuttle coasters, and Superman looks like the strangest one they've ever done--in a good way. I really like the looks of the noninverting loop.
  6. The new trains look rather "open." Back in 2009, I though Bakken's side-friction coaster gave a more thrilling ride, but I really liked the "caves" on Tivoli's.
  7. ^I think those folks suffered so much brain damage the last time they rode Goudurix that they've forgotten about the experience. Or perhaps they're hoping the new paint job will help.
  8. Went over to the park for the last day of Verbolten Passholder ERT--in a shocking development, Verbolten was down but Mach Tower was running. One of the attendants mentioned that someone from Zierer was here to further troubleshoot Verbolten. They gave all the Passholders waiting there Verbolten one-time exit passes, which can be used anytime during the rest of the season. A big storm blew through Williamsburg last night, and a large tree went down in Da Vinci's Garden; fortunately, it doesn't appear to have damaged anything, but that section was closed until the tree can be cut up and hauled away. (A crew was working on it, so I imagine the section of the park will be up and running later today, if it isn't aleady.)
  9. The Mine Train is one ride that Vekoma does very well (I like their Mad Houses, too).
  10. It sure looks like a Vekoma Mine Train to me, but I'm not certain (doesn't say on rcdb.com, either).
  11. Deep South Bash was great last year--bring on the fried pies! I highly recommend the tour of Monster Mansion, too.
  12. Now all we need is "Fantastic Flats and Fun Houses with Larry."
  13. ^Nothing is impossible, I suppose--but this is highly improbable.
  14. ^I'm just amused at the notion of people traveling "long distances" for the sake of Mach Tower.
  15. From the BGW Facebook page: I can't think of any park that comps guests for a second day because a drop tower was broken down. Plus, he mentions having a "great time" in his first sentence, then launches into a rant about ride breakdowns. Translation: "I had a great time, but it was ruined because your drop tower was broken down. Please give me a free ticket."
  16. ^Many parks in other countries allow guests to take cameras on rides, but in the U.S. restrictions are more stingent (particularly Six Flags and Cedar Fair). So, the thread evolved into a discussion of these poicies.
  17. This may be the funniest thing posted on here in years. Must be a Christian Heavy Metal fan.
  18. Winjas is one of the best indoor coasters ever.
  19. It looks a lot more fun that the "Vertical Velocity" type rides.
  20. Looks like BGW has another addition to its menagerie this year. Looks like a banner year of new animals at the park. A Clydesdale colt named Aidan was born this year, and they have a new hawk over in New France, too. Hi Boise.
  21. I agree with Batwing at SFA--a remote grassy field behind a huge Intamin ride is not a great location for a Vekoma Flying Dutchman. It's quite a trudge to get back there to see if the blasted thing is even running.
  22. It's tough to beat a Disney park after dark--Cars Land looks especially good.
  23. All too often, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing--this is true of many companies. Marketing may have geared up for the original opening date, and pushed on without really being sure about what was going to happen (or based on vague answers from park operations). My guess is that if the ride opens on July 7 as previously announced, this will all blow over.
  24. TPR last visited the UK in 2010, if you're curious.
