  1. Twister at Knoebel's is rather "eccentric," as is the Loch Ness Monster at BGW. The Ultimate at Lightwater Valley is a "Jeckyl and Hyde"--a rather gentle first half coupled with the most insane, brutal second half you'll find on any coaster.
  2. I think one ride that really pushes the envelope for ejector air is New Texas Giant. It really is insane--in the good way.
  3. ^Every picture's better with Lou in it.
  4. Aye, and with the Pirate Duck comes a terrible curse!
  5. I love the look of the trains in that concept art.
  6. Yeah, I was curious about this. The two rails look off from each other. Granted, I don't believe that they're the final rails, and that there's a running board that lays on top of them (hence all the holes), but it looks odd. Oh good lord, I'm flashing back to the Great New Texas Giant Bolt Debate!
  7. Hmm--this was already mentioned a few pages back: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1211786#p1211786. The images are a bit different, but I doubt that means anything (other than that they've spruced it up).
  8. ^If so, they could open their own "used rides lot."
  9. I think they're expressing disbelief at the ordeal they've just endured.
  10. ^Hey, before the Super Bowl they run teasers for commercials.
  11. I imagine that's illegal in most states--like altering a crime scene.
  12. Hurler was a great ride during its first two years, but didn't age well. However, when we rode if for an hour during Coasting for Kids this year, we were somewhat pleasantly surprised: The ride, while not "good," wasn't as bad as we'd feared.
  13. The two guys in the third car seem to be sharing a "tender moment" on Colossos.
  14. I thought that was Hypersonic.
  15. It defintely looks like a disaster that's waiting to be transported somewhere.
  16. ^Hmm--seems to me it would be common sense to not sit over something that's going to bump around. But maybe that's just me.
  17. What Rebel Yell needs is paint and running lights.
  18. ^^The slides on the right look a bit horrifying.
  19. Geez, Bob--between this story and the Adventure City accident, you are a Prophet of Doom! This carnival is lucky that no one was killed.
  20. I don't buy the "lawsuit" argument, either. There have been deaths and lawsuits over larger, equally intense rides (for example, Superman/Ride of Steel at Darian Lake), but that hasn't stopped U.S. parks from building them.
  21. ^And there would be other adults who would do this for more than just "fun."
