  1. This definitely true for Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion. Wheel seat = spine adjustment. Non-wheel seat = decent ride. The second-to-the-last seat seems to be the best spot for the Georgia Cyclone, too.
  2. Very nice job on Kennywood's part--the model trains, in particular, are a nice touch.
  3. That was at Knight Valley--the ride pavilion is still there. This horrible accident led to a crackdown on ride safety in China.
  4. Another good spot of relax at BGW is the path and bridge across the Rhine River between the boat ride and the Loch Ness Monster. It's a handy shortcut, too--if you don't mind dealing with a bunch of fairly steep stairs. It's a good place to watch turtles and ducks swimming around.
  5. Yes, I can remember Robb.
  6. ^Time will tell. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing CW get a water coaster; heck, I'd like to see Water Country USA here in Williamsburg get one of those.
  7. I'm not saying you're wrong here, but a King Cobra isn't a "water snake," either--yet that's the name of the new water slide at Six Flags Great Adventure, So, as long as a water coaster is long and "snakelike," it wouldn't surprise me if Canada's Wonderland went with "Mamba" as a name for it. Just throwing that out for consideration. I have no idea what CW may have in store for next year.
  8. I sat through Brave tonight, and while it isn't "Cars II bad," it's definitely one of Pixar's weakest movies--call it "Mother Bear." (Hmm--yet another weak Disney animated flick about someone being turned into a bear.) The voice work saves it.
  9. It's hard to go wrong with anything at Dollywood, if you're into country cooking. The skillet stands offer plenty of great stuff, and Granny Ogle's Ham 'n' Beans has been a mainstay of TPR visits there. If you want some bizarre contrified entertainment with your meal, try Miss Lillian's Fried Chicken--you'll most likely be accosted by Miss Lillian herself. And, yes, cinnamon bread!
  10. Ah, but at least it had this!
  11. They all defy gravity on Intamin rides.
  12. Any masochist would be.
  13. ^One might say this it is . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UArbzOExaBg
  14. Just mailed my Secret Santa gift. I hope the recepient likes it--or at least finds it tolerably amusing.
  15. SyFy could use the same video--they just have to replace the dolphin with a mutant shark or gator.
  16. ^^Tokyo's Space Mountain being down doesn't bother me much, either. But I still have yet to ride Raging Spirits or Tokyo's Splash Mountain, so I'm glad those will be operating.
  17. It looked like the scum that floats in your sink after soaking a particularly dirty casserole dish in it overnight.
  18. I like local Christmas celebrations like this--thanks for the pictures. What does Friar Tuck drink for Christmas?
  19. ^No. BGW and KD are both pretty clear on their "loose items" policies.
  20. ^Perhaps they were performing "An Xmas Chorale by Carl Dickerson," rather than Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol."
  21. ^Yes, as hot as it was that day, I took one look at the water and said, "no thanks."
  22. Verbotlen during Christmas Town last Friday night. And, yes, it was cold going down that last drop--low 30s that night. Brrr!
  23. I was there for about three hours, but I'm a local who can easily visit more than once, and I didn't stop to watch any of the shows. The park was open from 3:00 to 10:00 pm last Friday night (in fact, I'm planning to hit the park again next weekend with a friend). I'd say that you could spend a the day there if you hit all the shows (the park does a good job with them). Quick Queue is available, as well: http://commerce.4adventure.com/estore/scripts/skins/bgw/quickqueue.aspx (I didn't need it for Friday night--but on Saturday the park can hit capacity during Christmas Town.)
  24. Just opened my Secret Santa gift--a copy of Cloud Atlas! Why, how ever did you know? Thank you! I'm really looking forward to reading it.
