^I think "in-between" is a pretty good way to describe Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I've lived in this area since the mid-1980s, and it has evolved since then from a "summer only" attraction. No, it's not a major "destination" park like WDW or Universal, but thanks to events like Howl-o-Scream and Christmas Town, it has "grown up" a bit from its regional/seasonal roots. -

It's not a amazing ride, but it is fun and unique. Nice to see it being rebuilt. -

I'd say that the majority of visitors do come from the Mid-Atlantic region: Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and West Virginia. But it's a fairly large region. -

^Yes, you'll find visitors from other countries at Busch Gardens. But don't forget that the park is located in a busy tourist area that includes Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, and other attractions. Many visitors to this part of Virginia hail from nearby states and DC. There's an active local base of passholders, too. That being said, Busch Gardens is a major tourism asset for southeastern Virginia. -

Yes. If it were at Disney or Universal it would be terrible but for a regional, seasonal park that ride is top notch. I like DarKastle. While it's not up to the standard of Spider-man at IOA, it was a pretty gutsy move for a regional park to install a dark ride this elaborate. -

I edited your original post to include the link to the Cyclone Racer Web site. Never use the "link" in the first post to go outside of TPR (only within the thread). Thank you. -

^Yeah, I have trouble getting worked up over the potential loss of an old Pinfari ride. -

I like White Lightning, too--it's a nice return to "old-school" wooden coaster with a bit of the GCI "twistiness." -
I caught Ant-Man last week, and while I agree that's it's an entertaining movie, I'm not as "blown away" as some critics and viewers seem to be. Essentially, they remade Iron-Man and added an overlay of Captain America. Yes, it's fun and worth seeing, but a bit overrated.

Agreed. Sky Rocket is a great "little" ride, and something like Gale Force looks like a good ride for a small park without a lot of space to spare. -

Maverick vs Millennium Force
cfc replied to ImNotOneOfYou's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I prefer the airtime of Maverick. Millennium Force is fun, but its emphasis is more on speed. -
Yes - As noted Europa park is now quote, unquote - "The Best Amusement Park in the World" according to Amusement Today's annual Golden Ticket awards... Cedar Point "lost" after winning the category for like 14 years in a row. They were using that line in all their promotions and now have gone back to "Roller Coaster Capital of the World". The rankings seem to biased towards those who spend the most advertising with them - I'll leave it at that. As you can tell by my need to photograph and share these pictures that Cedar Point is number 1 with me - granted I've got a lot more parks to visit... So it by all means, it was a joke http://goldenticketawards.com/2014-park-ride-winners/ While I won't quibble about Europa Park being the "Best Amusement Park" (that would be Tokyo DisneySea, by the way ), I'm just not feeling Flying Turns as the "Best New Attraction" (as much as I love Knoebels). Thanks for the great photos of Cedar Point, where Maverick rules.
