  1. Thorpe Park
  2. I caught Mr. Holmes yesterday and liked it a lot--easily the best version of Sherlock Holmes I've seen in years. It was good to see Holmes treated as more of a "Victorian gentleman" (as in the stories and novels) and less like a high-functioning sociopath or a Robert Downey, Jr.
  3. It sure fills out that section of the park--I wasn't clear on where the new coaster was located before I saw the overhead photo.
  4. I was checking out the park's Web site and came across this photo of Flying Turns. It looks like some terrifying contraption from a Saw flick. Well, at least it does to me.
  5. Ultimate, The--Lightwater Valley
  6. You have been brainwashed by the TOGO demon! The only antidote is to ride an incredibly smooth B&M! B&M's have an annoying rattle to them..... Are you high? Alpengeist, yes, but the vast majority of B&M are VERY smooth. They are also not very exciting, the vast majority of them that is Gentlemen, once again, we get it. One likes B&M. The other prefers Intamin. Yes, we get it. There is no point to this bickering. If you wish to carry on with this pointless argument, please do so via private messages, not on the boards. Thank you. I now return you to the KD thread, which is already in progress.
  7. ^They're expanding the water park, and it seems that Thunder Road is "in the way" from what I understand.
  8. LOL, seeing as Cannibal was built by lagoon (in-house!!!!!), I doubt it Has anyone checked the Golden Horse Web site? There could already be a Chinese knock-off version available. What's that? Then again, it wasn't a particularly good joke.

  10. I rode Thunder Road back in April when I went to check out Fury 325. The first two-thirds of the ride weren't bad (certainly no worse than Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion). But the last bit after the turnaround was like five miles of bumpy road.
  11. ^Larry and I were there on Friday, too, and rode Tempesto first thing in the morning. I knew it went down later, but didn't notice for how long.
  12. For me, if you guess either Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Kings Dominion, there's a pretty fair chance that you'll be right.
  13. Last day to ride Thunder Road! Who's going?
  14. Operations is not the Boss of Bosses or whatever you called him. Yes you may have talked to him. Yes he may have said something. No you have no idea who I am or whether or not I am connected to the park. Again, I call your bluff, your "insider news" is bogus. Your Friendly Neighborhood Site Moderator kindly suggests that you two carry on your discussion via private messages. We're all quite aware of what you think of each other. This ends now before it devolves into this. Thank you.
  15. I: Indiana Beach
  16. Quicksilver Express--Gilroy Gardens
  17. I definitely need to visit Lagoon some day--thanks for the photos and review of Cannibal. As for the ankle, at least you have a great story to tell.
  18. The next time you're at the park, try a Caramel Coconut Sundae in France. You won't be disappointed.
  19. Doctorow was an interesting writer. I loved Ragtime and really liked Billy Bathgate and The March. But Welcome to Hard Times and World's Fair bored and irritated me.
  20. F: Flamingo Land (UK)
