  1. Being stuck with snakes on a runaway train! What's worse than crying over spilled milk?
  2. Just out of curiosity, I just checked the mobile (iPhone) app. The information is updated there as well. In addition they have also released this statement in the mobile app.
  3. Maybe a megalite! I've never been on one but I can imagine what they feel like. Also, from testimonials I've read here on TPR it seems like they generally kick-arse.
  4. I think that there will probably be no major difference in operations. They could make up for the time lost reviewing regulations by having a 15min overlap between operators shift. During the last 15min of the previous operators shift the incoming operator will review safety instructions. Of course I think it's an overreaction, but if it has to be done let it be done. The only thing that will probably be an apparent change is the new signage put up around the ride. After I get back from vacation I'll head out to DL and try to get some pictures if somebody hasn't already. Glad to hear that RoS is back in operation
  5. ^ Putting trims, OTSR's, a lap bar, and for extra measure making you wear a mouth guard and helmet (cup optional), on a classic ride. What's worse than an overreaction by park management?
  6. ^Putting old PTC's on it and running it backwards! What's worse than a waterpark with hot, dry, backtop pavement in between slides?
  7. ^ If the seat wasn't wet until the ride started. What's worse than queueing behind somebody who can't even pronounce the word deodorant, when the ride breaks down..?
  8. Concert... Probably Mario or Luigi?
  9. ^ That's because I have a Mac < Not a Fanboy talking smack! v Favorite animal is a duck! Quack!
  10. Living near Niagara falls, I understand how dangerous running water can be. The currents both above and below the falls are VERY strong. About once every year or two we hear about somebody needing to be rescued from the rapids. In addition, while on the whirlpool jetboat tour we saw three "twentysomethings" standing out on the boulders just feet away from the rapids. The captain took the boat near them, passengers waved at them, then the capitan yelled at them over the loudspeaker telling them to head back upland. If they fell, not only would they be swept in... but they would be forced downstream towards the outlets of two hydro electric generating plants and then past a suspended cable which marks the "point of no return," past witch coast guard will not even attempt to save you. Basically it all comes down to common sense. Your body is no match against millions of gallons of water pushing towards you at 10+ mph.
  11. Disaster Transport (Dispatch Master Transport) - Cedar Point.
  12. Yes, if you count Cycling and Rock Climbing as sports... Have you ever traveled out of your have country?
  13. I don't think your camera sucks, it gets the job done and the pictures were sharp enough. Nice TR! We have a water "play area" comparable to the "ghetto' one pictured above at a local park that I loved to go to as a kid. I guess some kids would be just as happy running through the sprinkler on the lawn. Overall it looks like a nice beach/boardwalk. Looking forward to future TR's! -Doug "The best camera is the one you have" Mandell Jr.
  14. Enjoy Disney! (and hopefully Universal Studios and IOA!) It's refreshing to hear about somebody so excited about experiencing life and I really hope you enjoy your trip. I will be looking forward to your trip report next year! Again, congratulations on starting this new, fun, thrilling chapter in your life!
  15. ^^ So, essentially... She wants park management to babysit her while she babysits her kid! If you sit outside all day and have fair skin of coarse you are going to get burnt. I mean, I have kinda olive skin and I have never gotten a sunburn, but when I go out to the park I spray some on just to be safe... I can't imagine being raised by a parent careless enough to let this happen, let alone blame the park for it. I feel for the kids.
  16. Silver Comet is defiantly worth the trip. It's better than Predator at Darien lake, and a good ride all around. Strong lateral forces. It smooth, but has a couple rough spots at the end. Mind Warp is fun, but be warned it is intense and causes a lot of whiplash. So much in fact that the ride-op gives instructions on how to brace yourself. If you heave neck problems this one is not for you. Other highlighs include flight, a starflyer type ride, a very wet logflume, a Gravitron, and the Wild West show. Also, reduced admission after 5PM is just $12.95 Coolers are allowed, so if you want to save money pack a picnic.
  17. I use a Pentax K-x digital SLR for 99% of my photos. For video I have a Kodak HD Camcorder, I can't recall the model number right now. Other cameras I own include a Panasonic point'n'shoot, a Kodak Easyshare, and a 35mm Pentax K-1000.
  18. Raised about $300 for Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. As part of the fundraiser participants cycle in "The Ride For Roswell." I ride my bike a quick 33 miles because that afternoon I volunteered selling raffle tickets for Catholic Charities at a local fair. That fills my charity quota for the year I guess... I would recommend anybody in the WNY area to participate in the Ride for Roswell next year if possible. They have several different ride lengths ranging from 5-100 miles. Afterwords they give out free Subway and have live music. Roswell park is a great place. My grandmother was treated there. Although they couldn't save her, they made her feel in control of her cancer for the her last 8 months.
  19. ^If that commercial is for the same "natural male enhancement" products that are spamming your email inbox, that you don't buy... but secretly want to. What's worse than unknowingly going to Darien Lake the same day as the Jonas Brothers concert and finding all the lines filled with screaming 11 year olds?
  20. ^Cali, preferably SoCal... Daffy Duck or Donald Duck? Or do you not give a duck?
