Busch Gardins Starflyer or Windseeker?

The only ride that scared the living crud out of me was insanity @ The Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas. Second to that probably my most nerve-racking ride was my first skycoaster. I now make a point to do a skycoaster at least once a year and next time I'm in Vegas I'll do skyjump.

I have never rode an intamin plug'n'play woodie, but from what I've herd about el toro I think that it would be a better option for CP. Perhaps it could utilize the cable lift and have a slightly steeper lift hill in order to save space. CP kinda has a reputation for going big and I think the pre-fab could accomplish what CP aims for more easily. Also, it would keep the intamin run going.

CP is crafty, if they want something they'll find room. I'm not sure if I like the idea of a parking structure because it would be a huge mess come park closing. I know after hockey games it can take me forever just to get out of the parking structure.

Local news reported at 11 that the investigation has been completed and an official report will be released tomorrow. The only thing confirmed as of now is that there was no mechanical issues or failures. Everything was operating as normal. Channel 2 then continued on this long rant about ride safety and how the department of labor is not releasing Darien Lake's ride safety history and inspection records at this time. Then they were whining about how they were hiding information, stating that they submitted a freedom of information act request as well as gotten their lawyers involved... Drama please... Anyway, more news tomorrow. Most likely confirming operator / rider negligence or something of the like.

Alternatively I think of the man killed by rocking the sky-ride off its cable at Magic Mountian, the Superman RoS ejections (including the most recent one at Darien Lake), and this video. *Disclaimer, I do not watch maury... just saw it on the web. Seriously not my type of show.

Darien Lake Kinda big, almost unrealistic wish list -Repaint, re-theme, and rename Ride of Steel, it would help re-brand the park and distance itself from the Six Flags Days -While I think the galaxy theater is good for kids, a new dark-coaster in there would be epic! -A beach on Darien Lake could be so cool, bring it back to the old days. Make it a place for families to take a break. -Put a ride near mind eraser, possibly expand the midway to the left of mind eraser. That way ME is not a dead end. -Move Scrambler and put a new ride near there, that area of the park could use a lot of love. -Expand the park out near Darien Square, it's actually a really nice area of the park and it shouldn't be on the edge. -The old, scum filled lazy river thing, get that up and running again. It was actually a decent water ride. -Put in that wave rider that was rumored, possibly to the left of cuda falls... there is just enough room for it and would bring people over the bridge. -Replace the wood on the bridge, especially because it connects cuda falls to splashtown. Splinters hurt! -General park improvements, concrete midways, new paint, replace old wooden benches. Darien Lake has soooooo much potential!

My sides hurt! I laughed out loud... I'm still laughing. Part of me refuses to believe somebody would be stupid enough to say that, but then I remember I live in America.

Looking at hours of operation, and Fantasy Island is only open until 8:30. Really depends on what time you get there.

^Maybe not even lie, just replace the standard seatbelt buckle (the one where you pull the tongue thing over and it unlatches) with the double locking seatbelt that Top Thrill Dragster has. It's still a "modification". This (Current Seatbelt Design) Versus this (Dragster Seatbelt)

^ Perhaps I'm overestimating the hysteria. I guess I just have some chicken friends, because after the accident a few people texted me (knowing that I'm the coaster geek) telling me that they were swearing off the ride forever. All I know is that I will not stop Riding RoS.

^Yeah the family just gives me chills. They are so clear headed and are facing this tragedy head on. They seem like a close group of loving individuals who were thankful for every day that James was alive, and they just wanted him to be happy. I know next time I ride RoS I'll think of James H. And his family and all of his accomplishments and the obsticals he overcame.

^ Still, they might make modifications to appease the GP. The whole Roller Coaster Tycoon mentality of "I'm not riding Ride of Steel, It isn't safe!" will not go away no matter what the investigators determine. I still have my fingers cross and I'm hoping that RoS will be left untouched.

^ Yeah I suppose. But WT does have 32 passenger trains and 1000 RPH capacity. Also I think that it being suspended makes loading and unloading a little bit faster. Not saying it's impossible that CP would build another shuttle, I just don't see it happening.

^ Not sure if a shuttle coaster of any type could really meet Cedar Points capacity expectations.

As a result if the death at Darien Lake their Facebook is now filled to the brim with *facepalms. A lot of story telling and people throwing blame around. For example. ^Good, shorter lines for me. ^So upsetttt sheees stuttttttttering. OMG!

I think a B&M flyer could do the park a lot of good, it's something different for them. Also, the GP can't see it as being redundant (unless they mistake it for a B&M invert). It would also be cool if they could put a new Zac-Spin coaster in the same year, not just an insane clone. It can help them reclaim the world's most title at a minimal square ft cost. Also, if they are going to keep Mean Streak please a little Rocky Mountian love on those tracks!

They should NEVER get rid of grizzly run! That is the best ride in the park hands down!
