This is correct. And as for the Volcano issues, I was in line Saturday morning and they weren't letting all the Fast Lane people come up at once as they would only take each group of people and make the next group wait for the next train. I do feel like they need to figure something out to merge the line for Volcano like they have done so for Intimidator 305, Dominator, and Flight of Fear as I thought those were working well and were fair to those using the FL and those not using it.

Kings Dominion surprisingly ran the Fast Lane very well this opening weekend, so hopefully Cedar Point will do just as good of a job. Although I've heard of complaints of how it is being ran down at Carowinds as it is wasting a lot of time and hurting capacity... I will definitely be getting Fast Lane at CP when I go up there the second week of June this season!

That area is now the Grizzly and Dinosaurs Alive entrance plaza as the Grizzly queue has been cut in half basically. Overall it looks very nice! Also, I was at the park opening day (Friday) and Saturday, and I can say Fast Lane is suprisingly being ran much better than I ever expected. I think what KD has come up with is completely fair and I don't see this causing many problems at all, unless they change it later on. Even on Volcano they were only accepting one "group" of people (those who were together) per train to keep the regular line moving (although that might be because the back 2 rows are closed). I plan on posting a full length report (with a few photos) once I get unpacked and situated. Windseeker, Dinosaurs Alive, and Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia were all better than expected and there are tons of improvements throughout the park. And yes, what you've heard is true, the park was suprsingly packed!

Great trip report as always, Chuck! More angles of Wild Eagle are always wanted and you can never get enough Dollywood photos as you catch different details throughout the park each time. Also, it seems like the overall verdict from the reports I've read is that Thunderhead is still the best coaster in the park, which is no suprise since it is one of the best woodies out there (& my personal favorite). I can't wait to get down there and try it out. Anyways, the freaky looking dude with the pick axe moves around the park yearly now it seems! First, in Timber Canyon at the Mine Shaft, then in Craftsman's Valley at Lucky 7 Mine, and now along the train route! Where will he be in 2013?! Yes, but those of us who get Cedar Fair Platinum Passes only save around 5 bucks then per pass. The 3 payment plan is definitely a great option, and it should boost season pass sales a bit.

Considering Cedar Point hasn't gotten a new coaster since 2007, I totally believe this is possible. They are due for some major expansion next season. Since they went 6 seasons without a new coaster at the "Coaster Capital of the World!", they could easily make up for it with 2 coasters in one year. A kiddie/little family coaster doesn't cost that much anyways...

I actually think the coaster crown does still matter to the GP... People actually do know that CP and SFMM do have the most coasters in the world, even people who have neither been to either of these parks. You hear people talking about it and it is on Facebook quite a bit. You see on both CP and SFMM's Facebook pages the GP talking about it and even on other park's Facebook pages. Such as on KD's Facebook page you see people saying things like "you all need to build 4 more coasters to have the most coasters". You always see tons of complaints about parks adding anything but a coaster when they announce their rides, as some people want a coaster every single year. With this said, I could care less about the coaster crown and much rather have a good collection of quality rides over quantity.

I'll be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to kick off my 2012 coaster season! I already have booked the hotel reservations in Glen Allen. The park has made lots of general improvements over the offseason along with Windseeker, Dinosaurs Alive, and Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia so I'm anxious to see everything.

Thanks for sharing these pictures of where Timber Tower once was. I was really curious of what it looked like. Hopefully, Dollywood will put another flat ride there in 2014.

Thanks for sharing the report. Dollywood is still my favorite "theme" park. I have season passes there for a reason! It was nice seeing even more views and details of Wild Eagle, which makes me even more excited to get down there to try it out finally. It may not be the most thrilling or intense ride out there, but it sure looks good and fits in the park well! You were lucky to catch the NASCAR Speedpark Kiddie Coaster open, it seems like that thing has quite a few problems... or they just don't open it half the time! Also, the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride is a must-do thing in your life, but only once! It is worth a few laughs. Thanks for the reminder of what a classic it is.

RIP 2008-2011 There is a new brick circle around the base of Windseeker. -We were lucky enough to recieve a cool LED WindSeeker sign. -Big new planter in the Drop Tower plaza. -There will be dinosaurs in the entrance plaza outside the park and on International Street to advertise Dinosaurs Alive. -Avalanche's trains got new paint and stickers this offseason. -It looks very hard to put the stickers on KD trashcans apparently. Instead of the whole lame "Ride Warriors" and "Fun & Only!" campaign, they are focusing on families. Also, there isn't random video footage of rides at other Cedar Fair parks. I think they should have put a shot of 305 from the commercial they shot at the park in 2010, but overall it is still a lot better than the old Cedar Fair commercials for the park.

In the POV, if you look at the trees and sky it looks like it was about to storm, so I'm sure it was windy when this video was taken. When you are at the top of the Eiffel Tower, it is always breezy up there because you are nearly 300 feet in the air so it is going to be the same on WindSeeker. If Cedar Point's Windseeker can handle the Lake Erie winds, ours can certainly handle the central Virginia winds.

While I do think Star Flyers definitely look and sound more thrilling, I'm glad Cedar Fair went with the WindSeeker designs. They seem much more pernament, don't look like something at your local fair, have on board audio, just overall look better and have one hell of a LED light package. Not to mention this makes KD's skyline very impressive with 4 attractions 300+ ft. tall!

Kings Dominion just announced "Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia 3D" today, so you all will probably be getting that to go with Dinosaurs Alive! I have mixed opinions on Dragster H20. Atleast it goes with the idea that the slides are racing, but it is pretty cheesy... I guess it is better than "Boo Slides on Boo Hill", "Backlot Stunt Slide", or "Mat Racer".

Looks incredible. Disney has just blown me away on the whole Cars Land and we haven't even seen the finished product yet! I can't wait until soft openings to hear the reviews.

For 2013: A WaterWorks expansion could happen and they could transform it into Soak City including new paint on slides, new aminities, and maybe a mat racer slide (similar to what CP is getting this year). We got 3 big WaterWorks attractions in 2007 though, while the other former Paramount parks and Cedar Fair parks didn't so we are still "ahead" of others I guess... but the competition (Water Country USA) is planning to expand BIG in a few years. I could also see a revamp of the KidZville area to make it all one big upgraded Planet Snoopy. Many of the kids rides in KidZville have been around since the park opened in 1975 and need some much needed TLC or removed for new rides. A revamp with additions like Dorney Park saw last season would be very nice. We didn't get as much attention when the transformation from Nick to Peanuts happened due to it being the season the 25 million dollar giga was added, so this is needed and seems likely with the new family-oriented CEO in charge. For 2014: Some type of roller coaster. Finally, I feel like KD is happy with their size as of now with the Best Western and campground. I don't see a hotel in the near future likely, but in the far future maybe... KD has PLENTY of land for one. I see BGW getting one way before KD gets one.

The area they have for this is quite large, and even though I'm not much of a Potter fan, I'm very excited to see what Universal has up their sleeves! It is hard to see a classic like Jaws go, since that was an iconic attraction at the resort. Universal's WWoHP Part 2 vs. Disney's Avatarland?
