  1. I actually really like the name "Stampede" for a wooden coaster. If that name was true, good job to Cedar Fair for coming up with a good name for this much needed coaster and lets cross our fingers that they don't change it to something stupid...
  2. Thanks for the update. I'm glad the park atleast got a good show for 2012. Since we know the layout of the coaster... was there ever a rumored name/theme back when this was originally planned?
  3. Awesome photos. Dorney Park is a very underrated amusement park in my opinion. They don't have the best rides that's for sure, but they definitely have some good ones (especially Talon)! For what they are, Dorney Park did a good job with Stinger and Dinosaurs Alive... They look pretty good.
  4. Wow. Maybe Six Flags should stick to an Apocalyse theme for all their new rides since this one turned out so well...
  5. I'll be there on Sunday June 17 (Father's Day) and Monday June 18... I really hope the ride gets back up and running.
  6. I'm also curious of what this will be since that is a very generic area of the park. The color scheme is also going to be a big deal since it will be flying over the entrance gates and will be one of the first things you see now.
  7. The more I hear about this being almost as intense or even more intense than Intimidator 305, the more it makes me want to drive up to Hershey right now. This thing sounds like a beast... Possibly top 2 material for me.
  8. I don't see Carowinds or Kings Dominion getting another new coaster until 2014 (at the earliest)... Carowinds and Kings Dominion's Intimidators were by far the biggest rides ever seen at the park and they can hold their "new coaster" popularity for 4 years just like Behemoth did up at Wonderland. Plus, both parks just got Windseekers for 2012 which is a "large" ride. I believe CGA (obviously), Cedar Point (obviously), and Kings Island will be seeing the coasters next year. I believe Kings Island will see something as it will be 4 years since Diamondback, and Wonderland waited 4 years after Behemoth for their next coaster. I could also possibly see something being added to KBF as they didn't get anything for 2012 and it will be 2 years since Windseeker was added and they haven't gotten a coaster in a while. Plus, they have lots of competiton in SoCal right now with Manta (SWSD), Lex Luthor/Coaster 2013 (SFMM), Carsland (DCA), and Transformers (USH). As much as we all would like to see coasters, I do respect and enjoy Cedar Fair spending capital on fixing up the parks slowly but surely as they have been doing the past several years (especially the former Paramount Parks... excluding CGA). I am very happy that Worlds of Fun posted that though as most parks would never do that.
  9. I just find it insane when parks act like nothing is happening when they have a giant structure going up in clear view of the public. I hope they atleast start some type of teaser campaign or something before the announcement at the end of the summer.
  10. ^ Well that's not the attitude to have working at the "sweetest place on earth!"... Park employees like that just piss me off. I know the job has to get irritating at times, but there's no excuse to look or act that miserable.
  11. You have some awesome photos, thanks for sharing. This makes me even more excited for my Cedar Point (& Kings Island) trip next month.
  12. I love that the commercial makes fun of the slow boring turnaround found on Wild Beast/Grizzly!
  13. ^ That's surprising to hear. I didn't think this thing would be more "un-rerideable" than Intimidator 305, but it sounds like it as I can ride 305 about 12 times in a row before taking a break. The intensity of this ride (from reviews) has me even more excited for this ride now...
  14. It's a real shame that Wonder Mountain is closed to the public as those views are incredible! Also, Wonderland's Dinosaurs Alive looks pretty good too! I'm not a fan of these attractions, but atleast Cedar Fair made the areas around/within them look very nice.
  15. Woah, it seems like Wonderland put together a nice event for you all. I find the story about Behemoth's name originally being Leviathan interesting. It would make more sense that way, so that's a shame... but I do like the cool teal/green color scheme better in Medieval Faire better than I would warm orange/red one like Behemoth has.
  16. Well I don't know about you guys, but I sure would take thigh pain from an insane airtime filled coaster over head pain from a shaky crappy coaster!
  17. Busch Gardens needs their money back on the Verbolten commercials over here in the Roanoke market... the commercials on TV haven't had sound for about 4 days now.
  18. I feel like StarFlyers are scarier than Windseekers, but I believe that Windseekers look like solid amusement park attractions while StarFlyers look like something you'd see at a fair. I guess it is just the structure itself, onboard audio, and lighting package found on the Windseeker models that make them seem more "pernament" to me.
  19. Mad T Party looks better than I was expecting. I'll probably never experience it, but it seems like it will be a good way for park guests to end their day.
  20. Mammoth looks great (as expected), but I really like the way Sparkler looks. It really does fit into the area and matches Liberty Launch well!
  21. I've been follwing this ride since it was announced, but I didn't know that the ride came so close to the paths. Very neat touch and it creates some good photo opportunities!
  22. This Skyscreamer looks like the best one in my opinion. The black/white/yellow/red color scheme looks much much better than the multi-colored ones like Great Adventure and Discovery Kingdom have. Also, being so close to that rock wall just adds a new thrill!
  23. I'm REALLY liking these good reviews of Skyrush comparing it to Intimidator 305. If those who have Intimidator 305 as number 1 and rank Skyrush as number 2 (or top 5), then that just gives me even more motivation to get up to Hershey as soon as possible! From the sounds of it, Hersheypark definitely has a winner on their hands. Congrats to them and Intamin! And I'm beyond jealous of those who rode both Intimidator 305 and Skyrush in the same day.
  24. Atleast Dragster H20 has a cool logo...
  25. Glad to hear the park got these 3 rides up to full capacity just in time for Memorial Day weekend as they always do. Dominator and Backlot's 3rd train always show up for the summer crowds. Also, sorry to hear about your incident in WaterWorks today.
