Crowds definitely should be managable with the only semi-long waits on Volcano, Flight of Fear, and whatever attractions they're running 1 train on. Your best bet would be to go on Tuesday-Thursday. Crowds shouldn't vary much between those and are kind of up to luck with how many buses of groups there are that particular day, which nobody can predict.

^ Mean Streak is actually pushed back quite a bit away from the main Frontiertown midway, and it's even further away than Maverick to get to... I've never once thought it dominated the area at all (although I do think it is a waste of space).

As far as coasters go, I've been the only one on Flight of Fear (KD), Rebel Yell (KD), Little Eagle (Myrtle Beach Pavilion), Eagles (HRP), and Swamp Fox (Family Kingdom).

I've always loved when people say this about rides... What exactly "looks" 200 ft. in your mind?

The more rides listed on the Fast Lane booth, the more they can convince people to buy it. It is as simple as that, and they are just adding Fast Lane to rides that it is easy to add (AKA just throwing up some Fast Lane signs).

All OTSR's would do is have people complain about thigh pain AND shoulder pain... No need to add them. And anybody with a brain should understand why Intimidator 305 has to have the straps.

All launch rides rollback... Volcano is easily the most popular ride in the park. The park is going to keep it around as long as possible and might even re-configure the station soon due to its popularity. We all know you hate the ride, want it to be removed, and want a B&M invert.

This thing just looks insane... In my opinion it's the ride of 2013 to watch, which is good for the park and company. I'm glad they are doing the announcement August 9th as Dollywood's Wild Eagle announcement seemed a little late and took forever to get here since they waited until Labor Day (September 5th). 2013 is looking to be a big year already with this, CP's wing rider, and SFMM's Full Throttle!

^^ I've ridden Intimidator 305 close to 70 times now and I've had to do that 2-3 times now... But I haven't heard/saw them doing it since 2010 though.

Anymore word on the rumored 2013 drop tower here? I'm hoping they give BGT something that actually works and isn't a piece of crap like Mach Tower.

Just got 10 rides in on Millennium Force Tuesday and Wednesday, I was quite surprised by the air... I think part of the reason it was providing a great amount of floater air was due to the 90+ degree temperatures, but because of that it increased Millennium Force to my number 2 spot. The ride really delivered when I was there (although there was more of a rattle than I remembered/heard about recently). Don't be expecting the wild Intimidator 305 throwing you all over the place "air", but more of a forceful floater air. The rides are 2 complete different experiences, but 2 amazing rides that easily blow B&M's out of the water in my opinion (haven't gotten to Leviathan yet though).

My #2 coaster, Millennium Force on Wednesday... And thanks to the 90+ degree heat it was running fast with good air!

^ That's actually pretty funny! It looks like (most of) the employees had fun doing it too! After visiting Cedar Point this Tuesday and Wednesday, I can say that they have some of the best ride ops I've ever seen... the food/souvenir stand employees are a complete different story though!

I'm really interested to see how much Cedar Fair has changed Kings Island (for the better) like they have done over here at Kings Dominion since 2007. Of course I've seen many many pictures, but I know that pictures can't quite capture the changed vibe and atmosphere in the parks.

Well tomorrow is my "big theme park trip" of 2012 as I leave for Kings Island and will be there for 2 days (Sunday and Monday) and then will be at Cedar Point for 2 days (Tuesday and Wednesday). I haven't done an Ohio trip since 2007 so I have a few questions about Kings Island that I can't remember. -Are there loose article bins or do you have to rent lockers? -When entering the park for Platinum Pass ERT in the morning, what should the waits for Diamondback and Invertigo be like? -We will be getting Fast Lane passes one day, but for the other day, what should wait times be for rides like Diamondback, Beast, and Firehawk? -Any suggestions for "magic seats" on the rides? I'm assuming the back is the best on Diamondback. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Also, what should the waits for those 2 be during the ERT? -We will be getting Fast Lane passes one day, but for the other day, what should wait times be for rides like TTD, MF, and Maverick? -Any suggestions for "magic seats" on the rides besides the 3rd row of Magnum? -With the new alternating ERT on MF & TTD on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for Platinum Pass holders, what kind of lines should we expect? I know this just started last week, but I figured there was atleast on TPR member there taking advantage of the new ERT. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

^ Well schools were still in then, now the crowds should be heavier, but no where near as bad as a Saturday.

Halloween Haunt 2012 (XII) News: http://screamscape.com/html/kings_dominion.htm And apparently at the Coaster Crew Virginia is for Coaster Lovers event held at the park on June 2nd, they stated that 2 new mazes would be added to Halloween Haunt this year along with what was at the park last year. If this is all true, the park will be at 12 mazes for Halloween Haunt XII. Oh and obviously The Asylum will be completely different this year since the Dinosaurs Alive Dinostore is in the former Grizzly Arcade... I could see that possibly being the maze being put into the Action Theater considering it would be kind of similar to Urgent Scare at KI (which is located in their Action Theater). Let the Haunt speculation begin!

And then we also had the world's worst webcam when Intimidator 305 was being constructed! KD has stepped it up a bit on their wesbite and Facebook recently, so a webcam is possible now. Kings Island and Carowinds all have them too.

The Hollow is looking fantastic with Skyrush and all the fix-ups they've done. Glad to hear another great review about Skyrush, as it seems like Intamin has another winner. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not a fan of Six Flags... but WOW the area around this ride looks great! I hope we see more X-Flight and Apocalypse style theming at Six Flags parks in the near future.

So I guess it will be closed for quite a while now...?
