  1. Well this definitely sounds like my type of coaster. I need to get up to Hershey, SOON!
  2. ^ I think we all would have enjoyed that more than the bright green and blue generically named "Goliath"... but we're dealing with Six Flags here. We should all just be thankful that the landscaping, ride sign, and queue house fit in with the area well.
  3. The season started 2 weeks ago... I'm pretty sure that's not "mid-season". They increased it just in time for the summer season (Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend). 99% of the people who go to Cedar Point this season won't know that the price for Fast Lane was 5 bucks cheaper the first 2 weeks of the season. And to be fair, the price for Fast Lane should be 5+ dollars more at CP than the rest of the parks in the chain since it has some of the world's best coasters and you have the ability to skip the longest lines in the chain.
  4. 5 dollars isn't an increase at all... that's like what? The price of a soft drink at a Cedar Fair park. I don't think the 5 buck increase will change anyones mind at all as far as whether they should buy it or not.
  5. This seems like the perfect family coaster. It looks amazing. I'd like to see more of these popping up around the country, especially over here on the east coast. These even seem like they would be good family coasters for companies like Cedar Fair... even if they didn't have all the theming and tunnel that Manta has. Congrats to SWSD on such a fantastic (and much needed) coaster!
  6. Nice photo TR, Chuck. I really like the way the Windseeker and Dinosaurs Alive areas turned out. Windseeker really fills in that spot in the southern part of the Grove that has felt empty since XLC left. The circular design of brick pavers around the ride also helps break up the asphalt that used to be there. Dinosaurs Alive's Dinostore certainly looks better than the old Grizzly Arcade and the new entrance plaza for Grizzly and DA really looks nice. I personally like how all 3 of KD's upcharge attractions are all next to each other (Xtreme SkyFlyer, Thunder Raceway, and Dinosaurs Alive).
  7. This ride is really unique. It just keeps getting better and better!
  8. There is no doubt about it that this ride will still be an incredible coaster no matter how slow the lift is or how many trims it has. Skyrush is still my #1 anticipated 2012 coaster and I can't wait to hear all the early reviews on Saturday!
  9. I think this depends on each individuals' opinion and likes. I personally like Intimidator 305's lift/drop because you fly over the crest very quickly. I definitely don't think Intimidator 305 would be as thrilling if the lift hill was slower.
  10. It was Mother's Day, which is considered to be one of the least crowded days of the season... which is why it (and Father's Day) are gold & platinum passholder "bring a friend" day for a discounted ticket price. They are definitely great days to go to the park if you can.
  11. I like that this SkyScreamer doesn't have a tacky color scheme like the others. I actually like the way this one looks.
  12. I honestly can't believe that Tower of Terror is only 40 inches! Good job to Disney for low height requirements.
  13. 6'5'' seems quite short for the max height. Oh well, atleast I'm only 6'2''... Anyways, those stats just got me even more excited for this ride!
  14. Exactly! Living 3+ hours away from both Kings Dominion and Carowinds I really don't have a "home" park (although I call KD mine) and only get to each several times a year. I just can't casually stop by for a few hours like locals do and I usually only go to KD 6 times and Carowinds 2 times a year. I do try to plan to go when the parks won't be crowded, but if I happen to go and the park is slammed I'll be really happy to have Fast Lane as an option and will probably buy it. It really is nice for a parks like Cedar Point (9 hours away) and Kings Island (7 hours away). Fast Lane is part of the reason I'm visiting both of these parks next month. I no longer have to worry about the parks being crowded and can have a relaxing time.
  15. Millennium Force can't be called MILF... Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor already has that nickname copyrighted with the theme park nerds. Back to Williamsburg, I hope the park does A LOT more landscaping throughout the ride course, event building, and bridge/drop... the area around it isn't looking too "most beautiful theme park in the world"ish at the moment.
  16. ^ .....Well it is a mini-Intimidator 305!
  17. ^ Yes, the Grizzly line is a very reasonable length now and it looks very nice! Rebel Yell's whole entrance ramp is in need of new wood, so hopefully when they redo it, they shorten the length of it.
  18. If there was a chain that believed this, it would be Six Flags...
  19. This family coaster just got even better. I really like the way it is turning out and wish it wasn't on the opposite side of the country.
  20. Yeah that's the one I was referring to. And yes, the big competition of getting the first POV always happens when a new coaster opens. When the park or major website (like TPR) doesn't post a POV, the first "illegal" ones always get a ton of views!
  21. Someone on YouTube has posted a front-seat POV of Verbolten (wolf version) and claimed that the park gave them permission to do so. According to his YouTube name he works with the park and the ride ops obviously see him filming so it could be true. I hope one of the mods check it out as I don't want to post it and risk getting in trouble on here if he is actually lying.
  22. Thanks for sharing the reviews. I'm excited to hear more. I am a bit worried about the slight "rattle" though on the ride's first day... Hopefully it doesn't get any worse!
