  1. I'm glad to see Cedar Point taking advantage of this new attraction and teasing it up. I wish more parks would do this as it is exciting and also hilarious to read what the GP thinks on Facebook/Twitter!
  2. http://www.facebook.com/#!/kingsdominionva For those of you not too familiar with Kings Dominion, the maze will take up the left side of the Action Theater, go out of the theater down the exit hallway, and into the arcade in the building. There is still a path leading down that hallway and arcade room for those leaving the right side of the Action Theater, so I guess it is safe to assume that Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia 3D will still be in there for Haunt XII (unless they dig Elvira's Superstition back out). I really like the "haunted hotel" theme for this location! The Action Theater is a large building (like a hotel) and located off of International Street which has a "travel" theme to it. I can't wait to find out the name of the maze! This will be a whole new twist for Kings Dominion's Haunt XII, and I'm very excited for it! "All You Fear is Here!"
  3. RipTide at the 25th Annual Salem Fair in Salem (Roanoke), VA. If anyone is driving on I-81 through Virginia this weekend it is worth a stop to get your 2 credits. They also have some fun flats there this year! http://salemfair.com/
  4. Busch Gardens must be trying to get me back to being a passholder with them rather than Dollywood with those butterflies... I'll be at the park at the beginning of August to finally check out Verbolten, so I'll be sure to stick around to check this out. The new show in Oktoberfest looks "interesting"... Thanks for sharing as always!
  5. Even though GCGEFAA has the longest name for a coaster ever, Six Flags did a good job making that standard mouse ride look good. Thanks for sharing!
  6. Well Leviathan isn't a wing-rider sooo...
  7. The view from up there is incredible. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait for more!
  8. ^ Maybe somebody else can answer this one for you, because I've noticed that it is completely different for everyone it seems. Some people say they just barely gray out while others say they completely gray out. No matter what, she's going to lose some of her vision for a few seconds around that turn... If she's afraid of this happening , I recommend she keeps her eyes closed on the turn and opens them at the top of the 2nd hill.
  9. I've been keeping up with the rumors and this thread, but there hasn't been much discussion about the theme for HHN 22. Has anyone heard any rumors or anything about it yet? The website doesn't hint towards much at all...
  10. I feel like I'm the only one, but I personally find Windseeker scarier than Drop Tower... On Windseeker you are spinning around nearly 300' up in the air at 30 MPH with only a lapbar holding you in while you are at the top for quite a while (not to mention there is only a thin pole holding your seat). Drop Tower has the OTSRs making you feel more secure and the seats are all connected giving it a safer feeling. Also, you're only up there for a few seconds before falling 72 MPH 272 feet. But I'd say try it once, if you don't like it, don't ride it again. ALL rides are worth a chance.
  11. Well I'm glad KD's Drop Tower got smashed of its record of "largest drop in North America" by an awesome looking drop tower. I hope to ride this one day as it looks like the Mountain has a winner on their hands (besides capacity). Drop towers only scare me on the way up and at the top as I always have the thought in my head "what if this thing gets stuck?"... the drop is actually a relief to me. With the tower shaking due to Superman, it seems like that adds a whole new thrill!
  12. I'm so glad to hear this. I've seen management over at Volcano talking to Fast Lane employees twice this season and it was rumored that they were looking for a solution. This is great news and I'm glad KD fixed the only issue there was with Fast Lane in the park.
  13. This element makes me like Rocky Mountain even more now because it will forever lead to coaster enthusiasts arguing if it is a complete inversion..... and the GP wondering if that was a "loop-de-loop after the very steep fall where they almost fell out".
  14. I haven't gotten up to Hershey yet to ride it, but judging by pictures I also wondered why they didn't put any shade at all over that huge area of switchbacks...? Either they didn't have them in the budget or they wanted the view of the lift/drop clear from the queue are my only guesses.
  15. ^ I also feel like a Hard Rock Hotel would have worked... but not at the location the park was at. Now if they put it at Broadway at the Beach near the Hard Rock Cafe, then I could see it doing well. Actually if the whole park was over near there, I could have seen it surviving if they lowered the ticket prices a bit.
  16. Woah, you sure did catch the park on a dead day by looking at those photos! Thanks for sharing and I enjoyed your photos. I really like the one of Windseeker from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
  17. I think what it comes down to is how many laps on rides you want to do... If you are pleased with only riding all the rides once (and maybe 2 times on your favorites), then you don't need to buy Fast Lane. If you want to ride all (or some) of the rides several times each, I'd say get Fast Lane.
  18. ^ I'm glad you enjoyed the park and Intimidator 305. It's nice to hear reviews like this from non-locals.
  19. This looks better than I was expecting it to be. Between this, the new fountain/firework show, and parade it seems like this park is getting the attention it deserves once again. Thanks for sharing the review and photos!
  20. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45427 Edit: ^ Beat me to it.
  21. On my last trip 2 weeks ago Fast Lane was worth every single penny for us 4 at both Kings Island and Cedar Point! It allowed me to get in 60 laps on rides that trip, including 12 on Diamondback and 10 on Millennium Force. Best 300 bucks I've spent ($140 at KI and $160 at CP)!
  22. While Verbolten has experienced quite an amount of downtime (which I find rather rediculous), it's still doing better than its piece of crap neighbor Mach Tower did last year... I give BGW credit for giving these smaller companies (Moser and Zierer) a chance, but it seems like they have had tons of troubles.
  23. This is also what I've heard, which is still surprising to me as it seems like Drop Tower could operate in higher winds than Windseeker. When it is windy out though, Drop Tower's cables do whip the tower quite hard. I've been on Windseeker at Kings Dominion when Drop Tower was down due to wind (so winds were higher than 28 mph) and it was quite a thrill. I've also been on Cedar Point's when other rides were apparently down due to wind and it was also a scary ride. But my rides on the ones at Kings Island and Carowinds weren't nearly as exciting...
  24. This one wins it for me. It's so hidden and out of the way... not to mention it's a hike to get to the ride. Also, before Wilderness Pass was built to connect Timber Canyon and Craftman's Valley at Dollywood, Tennessee Tornado seemed really hidden. I wouldn't put it in this category because it was not a bad place to put it. I love how it is tucked away in the valley and doesn't ruin the rustic country atmosphere of the area. Then, Wild Eagle came along and totally dominates that whole side of the park now...
  25. I did hear that Drop Tower was struck by lightning during the storms.
