I personally was imagining the restraints to be similar to the ones found on Intimidator 305, Maverick, Kingda Ka, ect. without the OTSR portion of the restraint. For example: this exact seat and restraint style without the black "straps" found on Intimidator 305.

Patiently waiting for someone convinced the clearance is too low... Seriously though, this ride looks awesome. Many similarities to Intimidator 305, so I'll probably fall in love with it.

I really appreciate all these little updates. Although I'm a passholder to Dollywood, I don't get down there nearly as much as I wish I could since it's about 4 1/2 hours away so I usually go to KD (3 hours away) much more. Wild Eagle should be a great addition and I'll be down there at Easter to check it out since I unfortunately can't make it to opening weekend...

Nowhere in the post did I say I was concerned they wouldn't build it for trucks, I just said they would have to. You are reading my comment too in depth between the lines. I'm not going to argue about this because 1) I don't want to get involved in the silly Cedar Point coaster "dreams" that have been going on since Maverick and 2) the ride over Perimeter Road will more than likely not happen.

Why does it matter if they paint Stinger, Invertigo, Leviathan the same colors? All the rides are at different parks... hundreds of miles away from each other. I for one would love KD to paint a ride in this color scheme, Ricochet would look awesome painted those colors as it would match its new neighbor Windseeker great! Bring on the aqua and royal blue Cedar Fair!

That's going to look great, especially from the entrance plaza of the park as it has those colors out there. Those colors really faded badly and the ride looked like crap... glad it is getting some TLC.

That's good to know that they already have the lights on the tower. It's really going to light up that section of the park. Also, that's good to know that the park has a good skyline from I-95 south towards Richmond because I know when you come from I-95 north towards D.C. you have to look through the trees to see Drop Tower and Intimidator 305. I'm sure you can see Windseeker from I-95 north since you can see the Eiffel Tower and that's further away from the interstate than Windseeker is. I'm hoping the park or Coaster Crew does another update soon!

^ I have to agree with you Steve. Building a ride over the road would have to leave plenty of clearance for trucks passing through, safety nets so loose articles don't hit cars, ect. Cedar Point has quite a bit of room before they should have to consider constructing attractions over Perimeter Road.

This trip report just backs up my theory that no matter how many times you've been to Dollywood, you'll always find something you've never seen before. I've been to the park a ton and I saw some things in this trip report that I haven't seen before. I can't wait for 2012 at Dollywood! Thanks for sharing!

I've experienced quite a rattle on Intimidator down at Carowinds, but it most definitely didn't "ruin" the ride though like I've heard people say about Diamondback recently.

That interview made me feel more confident how the inside of Verbolten will turn out... I sure hope they just keep the effects working over the years. Thanks for the update!

If the park gets this massive coaster in 2013 like you guys are hoping for, you know what that means... Coaster War of 2013; Six Flags Magic Mountain VS. Cedar Point! I can aready hear the arguing...

The usuals: Kings Dominion (season pass) Dollywood (season pass) Busch Gardens Williamsburg Carowinds The "special" week-long trip of the year: Cedar Point (haven't been up there since '07) Quick trip for new coaster: Hersheypark OR Canada's Wonderland (waiting to hear reviews of SkyRush and Leviathan) 6 parks... Not too bad!

^ I think the location will be good while riding to because on one side, you will have nothing but Virginia countryside views and on the opposite side there will be the whole park to look at. Also, it will give riders views that they've never seen before from that end of the park and all 4 300'+ attractions are spread out pretty well. FInally, this should give drivers on I-95 something to look at...

That doesn't make any sense at all considering Carowinds opens March 31st and Kings Dominion opens April 6th. Both of them should easily be completely ready by opening day considering it is 2 months away.....

I really want KD to post a picture of Windseeker from top of the Eiffel Tower! Anyways, this looks great and I'm glad they got it up so fast!

Considering the park doesn't open for 3+ more months, there is plenty of time to simply paint those trains a brown/rust color to go with the theme if they end up using them...

I wasn't sure where to post this, but parks such as Cedar Point, Dollywood, ect. have been posting this link on Facebook to vote for the 10 Besties Readers Choice Awards. Here is part of the website's description about KD: Since when is Volcano: The Blast Coaster 2 roller coasters?! Also, the park is still owned by Paramount apparently, even though its been 5 years.

^^ The "Dinosaur Store" gift shop and ticket booth is replacing Grizzly Arcade and then the path for the attraction will wrap around Thunder Raceway to the woods. As for the new WaterWorks path, I believe that they want WaterWorks to be kind of it's own "park" of its own and not a part of the amusement park itself like Soak City at KI, Boomerang Bay at Carowinds, ect. Also, it seems like they would have even more problems with dress code if they had two entrances/exits. KD's is allowed to build on the land to the east of Hurler (the area between Ricochet & the water park), just not past the service road south of Hurler (behind the ride).

Windseeker is MASSIVE on the new park map, and I'm glad Dinosaurs Alive finally took up that big empty spot on the park map as it makes the park look more balanced.
