  1. Why not try making a Thunder Mountain stylr mine train around a mountain, you could use the arrow mine train cars some one made in these forums.
  2. That is an amazing looking flatride. KMG seems to be getting even crazier with their rides... personally I'd name the ride Terra Firma, because thats where I'll be wishing I was for most of the ride before I realize, you know, this isn't that bad.
  3. I know I would not name my park that for one simple reason....hmmm isn't there already a park called Six Flags South Carolina? I would not want my work to be compared to a god of RCT3 like CD5. As for names, I would go towards more classic style names, such as Belmont Park, or Elitch Gardens, or something to a similar effect. Lokks great so far, can't wait to see what the park has in store roller coaster wise...
  4. I guess I will be finding out tomorrow whether or not anything has transpired... Expect full video report, since I need footage from Chaos...if it is still operating, and Beach Blaster.
  5. The video that got me hooked on coasters, and first showed me Magic Mountain was: "The Secret World Of..." Series they had one on theme parks and Magic Mountain was the main park featured. Quite educational as well, as I believe I ws the only one in my third grade class who knew what physics were.
  6. Three fires, one year? Is Six Flags trying THAT hard to get rid of their competition?
  7. That happened after the girl died on the ride. Mid-course trims also got stronger after that. Not that the ride was that much better before hand. I always thought of Goliath as a mediocre hyper-coaster at best compared to the Intamin's and B&M's. Fun? Sure! And if you've never been on any of the other hypers, you're going to love it. But as most coaster enthusiasts goes, Millennium Force opened the same year as Goliath. It was no contest which was the better ride! THAT explains why it wasn't as enjoyable when I went on it this year. I remember riding it before it was slowed, and it was a much better ride. The mid course brakes killed the ride in the front when I rode it in April. I understand that they had to change/alter the ride, does anyone have an article, or know why the girl died?
  8. Anyone have an update? Hopefully a deal will be made today. If not, expect me to be down there tomorrow with an empty camera, and empty camcorder. If the park closes, I want to document as much of it as I can, as it will likely be sold to developers....crossing my fingers and hoping for a miracle... -SoCalCoasters
  9. Erm....I'll try to say this without sounding rude... You need to improve your stations, go on YouTube and find NCS station tutorials, some are very good. Your coasters are great, but you need more scenery around them. Also, don't you already have a park going right now: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=56200 Try not to have multiple threads like this. I actually think you have a better park going there than here.
  10. @ hulahoop ^You do realize that the Roadrunner coaster was in a kids area, and would not have the layout space for such a coaster. Amazing Pics as usual CD5, can't wait to see what you have in store. Who knows, it could be a B&M, since this was the time when Standups were at their high point, but I'm expecting the return of Carolina Calamity. I can see that going well anywhere in the park!
  11. I rode Ghostrider early October during the haunt, and while it bad in some places, in wasn't horrible. It was bouncy, but enjoyable. I still like it, even it the ride jackhammers quite a bit. The only major jackhammering was the first drop. I was NOT expecting it... Now I've ridden Roar at SFDK and I've found the ride has aged quite nicely. All the rows are still pretty smooth as far as wooden coasters go, and the front row was fantastic! Still love that bunny hop in the headchopper tunnel. When I visited CP in 05', I rode Mean Steak 3 times and for years, it was my favorite woodie. I always find it strange that people bash Ghostrider and Mean Streak, since my ride on them were fantastic. Also, I've ridden Grizzly and CGA and that, my friends truely deserves to be called the worst wooden roller coaster in the world... Ow... Nothing about that ride is enjoyable, and yet the average wait for the ride is 15-20 minutes...
  12. Couple more specific things I hope you could ask: White Water West: Is White Water West building any new slides next year for the Legoland Water Park? (they were the sole slide providers) Fabri: Ummm what happened with the Skycoaster-esque ride that fell over? Gravity Group/GCI/Vekoma/Intamin/S&S/ Any Wooden Coaster Providers: Has Legoland California been talking with you about building a wooden coaster. (past or present) One was originally a possibility for where the waterpark now is. S&S: Are you planning on bringing back any Arrow Dynamics designs besides the 4th Dimension Coaster? Intamin: What is going on with Shoot the Rapids? I305? Are you replacing the LSMs on Superman for the re-model? (Personaly I'd like to see a train ) Zamperla: Why'd you change Coney Island's Flying Coaster from Custom to Clone? Will the Motocoaster be a Clone or Custom for Coney Island? Gravity Group: Will Hades be getting Timberliners? (Please say yes) S&S: Why did Extreme Rusher never open? Permier: Are you still talking with Sea World San Diego about a coaster? Just a few questions I think more than just I want answered...
  13. Wait, they have a Boo Blasters INSIDE their factory? Is that what they do when they're on break?
  14. Meh....are the haunted house or top spin any good? SCR9.BMP over done?
  15. Sure why not? I'll make a mini park with this in it. Would anyone else like the download?
  16. Anton Gone Wooden? Win or Fail? SCR10.BMP Any good? Has 96 people on it at once, with four 6-seater trains, two inversions.
  17. I'd like to see that strange company called Gordon Rides...the one who have the inverted wooden coaster concept . Supposedly they are going to be at IAAPA...
  18. Let's hope hell freezes over then Anyway, like I mentioned before, something small like an enclosed version of Jet Rescue is the largest size coaster I see them adding in the near (next 10 years) future. And who wouldn't like a Jet Rescue type ride for SW SD if its enclosed and away from the water. No one can complain it's too big, or say it will produce large ammounts of noise. On a side note, when I first saw the concept art for the flatride, I thought it was a Zamperla Air Race (the topper was what lead me that conclusion) and was like "OMG AIR RA.....crap its just a spinning flat". One of those could also do well in the park. Riptide Rescue will appease me for now. When this exibit/flatride opens, you can expect me to be in the parking lot two hours before opening. Plus I'll have opening day photos . Hey, it's the first time they've added something that wasn't remodeled (the flat) in years. That, is something to celebrate. It is a step in the right direction.
  19. The Timber Tower, now at Kasi Park. (Screen is a very early shot) SCR8.BMP It turned out well for my first S&S Two Tower attraction.
  20. I have to go with Robb on this one, that is pretty lame that all they are doing is expanding the ride before the lift. It's also true that the Dragons can run three trains, as I've seen the one at Legoland operate with three on multiple occations. The capacity is quite high with all thee running. Here is a POV of the Dragon at Legoland California (taken with permission of ride ops) in the back seat. While the German one is still WAY better than the Cali version, I find the final drop and the helix are quite fun. I love the theming in the pre-lift on all the Dragons, and I'm sad that the swinging chandelier was removed along with the figure sword fighting that was on it. Another effect that has been lost since the ride's opening is the mist in around the door before the coaster section. It added to the experience. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEEwjEA8Huo Sorry about my POV skills, this was one of the first POVs I ever took.
  21. See, this is something that happens way too often on these forums; someone starts a fantastic park, than abandons it at its peak of popularity. Just try and finish the park up, post a dowload. Or just leave the park the way it is and put up a download, and try to put a cap on the storyline. This looked like a great park, I'd hate to see you abandon it.
  22. This looks great! Can't wait for 2011 to roll around and a replacement for the manatees to arrive....Wonders of the River stunk, so hopefully this will be a good replacement. I am glad to see them do this after what they did to the Dolphin Show....honestly, it was the worst show I'd ever seen. Not much marine life, just a bunch of bad acting and random acrobatics coupled with a horrible story. As for the 2014-2015 coaster.....the only way I see ANYTHING being built (I regularly visit) is if it's compact or doesn't rise very high, and completely enclosed. That is the only way I see anything being built. (Enclosed Jet Rescue Anyone?) I've been astounded at the complete lack of support for Sea World... seeing as it attracts a large nunber of people to San Diego, and brings in revenue for not just the park, but for surrounding businesses as well. Sea World and Belmont are classic San Diego attractions being driven out of business by greedy city council members who seem to think the economy isn't effecting anyone.
  23. I have Legoland Maps from every year since opening, if anyone would like to trade, I'll try to find them. (somewhere in my attic) Not making any promises though.
  24. I mean no offense, to clarify. Fixed Please use proper grammar when posting, if Mcjaco sees bad gammar, a ban is not far off... If you did not know.....there is a little program in RCTs 1,2, and 3 called Scenerio Editor, with enables you to create a park, change the size of it and create every aspect of it. You can create realistic parks in RCT1, 2, and 3 if you know what you are doing. It takes time, and effort. If you would like to see realistic parks for the RCT series, why not create them yourself. A tool is only as useful as the person using it. No matter how many tools are set before you, if you do not take the time to understand how to use a tool, no matter how realistic it is, your parks will turn out bad. Take the time to fully understand the aspects of the game. Truely appreciate what kind of an amazing piece of software engineering you have before you, and you could create the greatest RCT park ever. Time. Time is the key to your problem. Take time to become skillful at the game, and then create a park. Take a look at other's parks and learn from them. Experiment. Then you will understand that RCT is not just a game, but a tool that can only be truely appreciated if you play to learn. Learn the tool. Master it. Mastering it takes time, and only a select few can truely become masters. You can become a master if you truely works at it. Am I a master? No, of course not. I am still learning. Slowly but surely I have become more skillful at building parks. Take a look at my park Carlsbad Gardens from beginnging to end, and you will see that I drastically improved of the course of a few months. If you do not learn at least understand that not everything you want can become reality. Just because you want it doesn't mean you will get it. If someone tells you not to create a "Make me CFRs, CTRs, and CS Thread" DON'T MAKE ONE! Respect your superiors, that is the first step. I hope you have taken the time to read this. This is vital knowledge you need to understand this game. If you cannot understand....maybe TPR isn't the place for you, maybe some other site is. I do not know.
  25. All the Cedar Fair "Ride Warrior" commercials have different rides than the ones at the park in the ad... ie. CGA commercial had Ghost Rider as Grizzly.....I wish!
