Belmont Park in jeopardy?
SoCalCoasters replied to Sidra's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not positive, but I believe they have some affiliation, since the Wavehouse is listed on the site, and there is a wave machine located in the amusement park area as well as the main beachfront area. I'll be extremely sad if the park closes, because I live about a 1/2 hour away and go about once a month....and I was hoping one day they would get a drop tower, or some thing that would be seen from miles away to attract people to the park; people who may not have know there was an amusement park in the first place. -
[RCT2] Lone Star Gardens
SoCalCoasters replied to Dotrobot's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It happened to me with Carlsbad Gardens.... Just make an underground path back to the entrance...they are trying to leave right? If not, whatever is inside that building could be causing your problem; deleting it my solve the problem. EDIT: My 200th Post Yay! -
The only thing I would suggest is adding fences around the coaster, and the rapids. Also, it seems that rapids ride could use a little more theming. it's off to a great start, but it will look even better with more theming. Your park looks great, it just needs 1 or two small changes to make it go from meh to wow!

This is actually only my second attempt at a true park, completely custom designed, so Imam happy with how it is turning out. I actually can build NCS better in RCT3, but have started to slide back to RCT2 for this contest. My coaster design took several hours to perfect, and it turned out great! Next I have to terraform (dj's favorite word) the park and then add foliage and the rest of the rides... Coming Soon: Twinfusion at Kasi Park Yes, Kasi is a real word. Coming Soon

Even with extended track it wouldn't work well. For something like a CTR, you need to download the CTR creator. Google it. Beware, it is nowhere near easy to do and you could screw up your computer. Just stich to the in-game rides for now and gain some basic experience before you go diving into the realm of custom content.

Belmont Park in jeopardy?
SoCalCoasters replied to Sidra's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So I assume this means the park isn't getting the Unicoaster? Thats too bad, I love Belmont, and would hate to see it suffer. -
CD5 this is amazing, those are some of the best Intamin Supports I've ever seen in RCT3! Keep up the fantastic work! Does the ride have any kind of water feature around it? I was not able to tell based on the pictures you took. This is the best RCT3 park I've ever seen! EDIT: The one thing I'm expecting from you is a Carolina Calamity Re-Make in the park! Come one, it was the park's first coaster; You could easily call up Vekoma (Better be 2001 before they file for bankruptcy) and create a double lift mine train....The Revenge of Carolina Calamity? Just a though, this is Six Flags, so roller coasters year after year isn't strange!

Nürburgring launched coaster
SoCalCoasters replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
But is that a good thing? The human body can only handle so much, with faster accleration, the ride could cause discomfort. Just a thought... -
I don't think anyone would consider Linear Gale or Geopanic to be "classics." I guess what I meant by that is they are losing another one of their more memorable coasters, thats all. By that I mean, if they were not strange, they would not be memorable. By the way, does anyone have a POV of Geopanic? I lost the one my friend took when he went to Japan when I got a new computer.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
SoCalCoasters replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here is the most annoying thing that the GP can possibly do: Person: you know that one really cool coaster? Me: can you be more specific? Person: it's that one that goes really really fast! Me: um...a lot of roller coasters go fast.... Person: yeah but this one was really really fast! Me: what was the color of it? Person: Red, no....White.....no....Green....I can't remember...it was really fast and stuff... Me: I am supposed to know this ride with the minimal details you produced? Person: well duh! You said you knew like ever fact a about roller coasters! Me: I don't know what ride you are talking about.... Person: DUDE I TOLD YOU! ITS REALLY COOL AND GOES REALLY FAST! Me: ugh that's like hundreds of roller coasters Person: wow you fail. So much for knowing everything about roller coasters (end idiotic conversation) I have had this happen on multiple occations.....REALLY ANNOYING when the GP does this! -
The "Preview" Thread
SoCalCoasters replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I talked about this a while back but not sure how many people saw it... This is RUSH HOUR, my first coaster using custom scenery (JCat's Steelworx Only) and my first CTR, (DasMatze's Eurofighter CTR). This project took several weeks and is my first attempt at using custom scenery that turned out sucessful! Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9szle5TD1q4 -
Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I still wish Legoland had kept Spellbreaker, being that it was so unique and interesting. it's the only standup inverted swinging racing coaster with an elevator that I've ever seen. The name was perfect: SpellBreaker. If they had found some way to raise the capacity level, and reduce downtime, it would have been a great coaster. I used to wait in line and ride it just so I could see the construction of Technic from the top of the elevator. Good car theming too. Great Concept, bad design. Knight's Tournament is a great attraction don't get me wrong, I ride it every time I go, but Spellbreaker was just so...different that it stood out from all the other attractions. I wonder if Legoland kept the double queue railings on the ramps down to the attraction as a tribute, or reminder of how much energy they wasted on it. Maybe they'll go to Premier Rides and bring back the concept. It would be quite interesting to see what they could do to the design for Legoland Florida...I'd say make it racing with double stations for each track. That is the only way I ever see the capacity for those things change majorly. -
Fabbri Spinning mouse and sheesh
SoCalCoasters replied to velluli's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've ridden Sierra Sidewinder, TH's Big Spin, Crazy Mouse, and Screamin' Demon... From Best to worst: 1. Sierra Sidewinder: Complex layout, combines banked turns, high speeds, and terrain hugging manuevers. 2. Tony Hawk's Big Spin: Twisty layout, easy to get a really good spin, and the seating lets you see your friend's reactions. 3. Crazy Mouse (San Diego County Fair): Yeah, it's fun, but a really simple layout, and a little rough near the end. 4. Sreamin' Demon: Booooooorrring! No spining, very slow, random trim brakes and short/strange layout that makes no sense....plus I though the track was going to break because of all the buckling....yeah, no fun. I think the different seating arrangements really help make the ride more enjoyable...hmmm maybe I should try to bring to life my spinning coaster design I drew up last year... six people facing outward, x-car-esque restraints, able to do inversions...yeah, I can dream... -
Why Six Flags? Why remove a family favorite kiddie credit? Crossing my fingers that Cobra will be moved to another park and not be scrapped. I Know! I'll start: http://www.savethecobrarollercoaster.org I'm still sad to see it go...I really think they should have considered replacing Thrilla Gorilla and/or Monkey Business with Sky Screamer...then you could have had a great view of all the animals.
