Mystery USA GCI Project?
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wishful thinking but could this be CGA's woodie? I heard some people saying that there were some construction vehicles on site a few weeks back...probably nothing though But Cedar Fair still has yet to reveal what their doing with the rest of their planned spending this year (I belive somewhere between 5-20 million) whick would be plenty for a CGI woodie... And they are building that new football stadium too...this could happen -

I took a quick look around the park's newer attractions and was able to get a backstage tour of the new rides. Unfortunately, they only allowed a few pictures. On to the update: SCR75.BMP Fearfall is a huge hit with guests...even with all 4 towers running the line can still be an hour long. SCR74.BMP Twister is really popular with families, and since the ride has an extremely high capacity, there is almost always no line. SCR76.BMP I believe the wait for Black Powder is always over an hour long even with the two trains running! SCR77.BMP The splashdowns of the Splashdown Cafe...note the little Journey To Pangea teaser! SCR78.BMP Mmmmm...B&M Dueling Goodness SCR79.BMP Ahhh the pieces of Timeforce at long last... Overall Progress Journey To Pangea: Finished Backflash: Finished Galatiator: Finished Curse Of The Pyramids: 50% (theming in progress) Timeforce: 5% (ride track finished) Can anyone guess what type of ride Timeforce is...look carefully... -

Hello again everyone! It seems pieces of Journey To Pangea have begun to arrive on site and construction is well under way for the other rides as well. SCR70.BMP I like the color! Also it seems more holes have been dug for the splashdown area by the Splashdown Cafe. Also, I've heard pieces of Backflash, Timeforce, and Galatiator have arrived on site along with numerous pieces of theming....still no word about what type of ride Timeforce will be...but its the third ride from its manufacturer at this park so...hmmmm...wonder what company it is...anyone know? -

Best Batman The Ride Clones: never ending speed till the end plus insane backseat g-forces on the corksrews (almost lost a shoe ) SWSDJourney To Atlantis: banking drop, unbraked blockbrakes, banked curve, unacceptable ammount of wetness splashdown Gold Rusher: ending helix is classic Top Gun (Flight Deck ) CGA: corkscrew followed by near 90 degree banking turn into brake run Magnum XL 200: airtime hills Good Blue Streak: airtime pop makes it worth while Vortex CGA: the ride never lets up and the final corkscrew is a bit of a surprise Terminator The Ride: flythrough followed by dipping curves makes it a great exprience Bad Tatsu: Yay midcourse braking....WHAT! ITS OVER?! Ninja: Chain to station !yay! Deja Vu: sure make us sit in a painful postion as you slowly lower us into the station Goliath SFMM: SO much speed wasted in the midcourse brakerun...it ruins the second half of the ride Superman The Escape: what happened to my 6 seconds of weightlessness? Horrible X2: bad raven turn and wasted speed Viper SFMM: PAIN Disaster Transport: We've arrived...IN ALASKA Scream: Rattley Mirror Clone Parking Lot Coaster With No Theme...yeah Demon CGA: painful ending helix Grizzly CGA: Voted Worst Roller Coaster In the World 15 Years IN A ROW! Sorry this update got delayed...I couldn't get the post up before a weekend trip that included a stop at Pacific park, which has also inspired my second RCT2 Park which will be announced in the fall once Carlsbad Gardens is completed. (which will take 1 to 1 and 1/2 months to complete) Anyway, on to my BIGGEST UPDATE TO DATE! It so happens that TWO rides are rising and falling at Carlsbad Gardens this season. SCR59.BMP I give you the first of the Rise/Fall Attractions: The Twister, a Speed Racer coaster themed to being sucked into a twister. SCR60.BMP For being so small, this ride packs quite a punch. SCR61.BMP This ride is sure to send people running to our entrance! SCR62.BMP I'm sure this ride will be a huge hit with families since the ride has a height requirement of 40" with an adult. SCR63.BMP Also this season we added the Splashdown Cafe, complete with inside gardens and viewing platforms for Triple Drop Falls and....fences? SCR64.BMP Hmmm, a water ride of some kind? SCR65.BMP Ahhhh the classic Carlsbads Gardens Midway unchanged in every way...hey whats this in the bottom right hand corner!?? SCR66.BMP OMG ITS AN S&S COMBO TOWER!!! (davisal771 gets half a cookie) SCR67.BMP Fearfall, the combo tower, has two upwards and two downwards launching towers and is sure to thrill guests and become an iconic ride in this park for years to come. SCR68.BMP An overview of the park currently...I wonder what else I have planned. SCR69.BMP Move along, nothing to see here.......................I SAID MOVE! NOW! Hope You Enjoyed! -

Hello Everyone! I took the western idea that was submitted and created: Black Powder The ride is themed to a group of criminals (you) robbing a bank and trying to escape using a black powder propulsion system in a bullet-like car. On your journey you will encounter high thrills, gunslinging sherrifs, the infamous gallows, ambushes, and much more! The ride's lift hill is capable a 12 mph speeds simulating a boot a acceleration. BP's (heh heh heh) Media Day Photos: SCR54.BMP Where could all of these people be headed??? SCR55.BMP Black Powder of course! SCR56.BMP Another View SCR57.BMP When the quests exit the bank and enter the outside portion of the queue they go around the saloon building, and re-enter the bank. Once back inside, guests are treated to a preshow inside the bank's lobby. After the preshow, riders enter the station, which is the bank's main vault. SCR58.BMP AN overview of Black Powder (due to EXTREMELY large crowds, ie. 500 guests, the queue was extended for media day. Hope you enjoy your ride on Carlsbad Garden's new coaster: Black Powder -
