Ferrari World Discussion Thread

Those trains rival the Texas Giant as having the most awesome detail! Hmmm...Classic Hot Rod VS Ferrari Racecar -
This makes me wonder if Universal Studios Hollywood is getting a different type of ride vehicle, since it was announced for this one that the ride vehicle was not like Spiderman's. The concept art for the Hollywood version shows an evolved version of the Spidey Car, not a completely new design...I guess we'll have to wait till 2012

Unfortunately, the Loop-o-Plane is now in thrill ride heaven (along with all of Magic Mountain's Flat Rides) . Began construction today, and the "press" were there to check it out...oh no, this will be no ordinary update! By the way, I am having a...... Drop Tower Name Contest! That's right, your ride name, and username could be used in my Drop Tower! All you have to do is create a name for the theme of... POWER MINERS! Since I posess nearly every set, I decided to make a drop tower based on the Power Miners Lego Collection. (Google it if you haven't heard of it) Anyway, if I chose your name, you get special previews of all my projects, and your username will be present on the ride! Where? I can't tell you! Want some publicity? This contest is for you!

just a quick but strange question...Does anyone know whatever happened to Thrust Air 2000, the prototype air launched coaster? Just curious -
Hello everyone, this is SoCalCoasters and this is going to be one thread you will not want to miss! Over the past few months, I have been begining to design several large scale NXT projects which involved many hours of experimenting, desiging, and building complex thrill rides. Several projects I am planning: NXT Drop/Launch Tower: Using only one motor, and one touch sensor, I have designed (and begun to built) a tower ride capable of a Drop Tower Program and a Launch Tower Program! In Building Stage Indiana Jones and the NXT: This is a HUGE project this involves multiple large sets, and a very advanced NXT motion ride vehicle that will move tracklessly from scene to scene! The vehicle may feature one or two directions of motion depending on the final design. The sets themselves may feature special effects such as falling objects that are triggered by the car. To achive this however, I would need to acquire a second NXT Set, which I currently do not have. In Planning Stage ???Butterfly Coaster??? Yes that's right, Kidtum's favorite coaster type could be built in Mindstorms! I have a few ideas, but nothing is currently set in stone. Blue Sky Stage Now I will release updates off and on, but if life (school) gets in the way, it may be a while between updates. For Now, Enjoy this video of my first ever Mindstorms NXT Model, based off the classic Loop-o-Plane! Enjoy! Updates Soon!

The "Preview" Thread

I need everyone's opinion here...I have several projects I could work on, I would like to know which ones interest you all the most: -Carlsbad Gardens: Final Expansion -Skypier Park and Amusements VS Carlsbad Gardens -Lego Mindstroms NXT Drop/Launch Tower (can perform both launch and drop programs) And, a project of amazingly never before attempted awesomeness... -Lego Mindstorms NXT Indiana Jones Ride multi motion ride vehicle AND ride show scenes with possible effects provided by a second NXT module. I would need to acquire another NXT module to achive the show effects. The icons show my interest in each project...PLEASE help me decide, I am at a loss... -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
SoCalCoasters replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had not been on any launch coasters until this April...now I've ridden: California Screamin' Montezooma's Revenge Pony Express Revenge of the Mummy Superman: The Escape Xcelerator Yes, I rode all six of SoCal's launching coasters in one year! My Favorite: California Screamin', with Xcelerator as a close second...funny, since Cali Sreamin' is the only one with OTSRs. Best Themed: Revenge of the Mummy Worst: Colliding Express...erm Pony Express -
I wouldn't mind them taking out Thrila Gorilla or Monkey Business because they are really lackluster and aren't that great. The thing that leads we to believe they may put it back here is because they have blocked off one of the paths right in between the two attractions and replaced it with a smoking area...it makes Thrilla Gorilla's Queue unbearable. And over the last few years, all the Zamperla prototypes they bought have started being removed from the park... Anyone know why SFDK went on a Zamperla Buying Spree in the first place? I mean come one, it's Zamperla!

Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Robb, you should develop a timeline thread of the funniest, craziest, and most bizarre incidents ever to occur on TPR! That would be the best threat EVER! -
I will be sad if they removed Cobra...It was the first ride that I ever took a video camera on and got a POV...so many memories of that ride...it is a classic. I know! Build an iSpeed-esque Intamin and call it Cobra's Revenge! Yeah like that would happen. But you can't deny that would make the park's skyline pop; Though a starflyer will have an impact on the skyline as well.

If the ride uses LIMs or LSMs to launch, then it would need mist to cool them off, kinda like what California Screamin does after every launch. -

Capitalize your I's and use proper terms, not texting slang. Don't say something like: Say: Well yeah I guess so. I will be posting on other peopes things from time to time, perhaps more. Improper grammar results in a ban. -

BINGO! However, this version won't feature Battlestar's Signature Seat Chucking Manuever! So I'll send you a preview of my new park, and when the new area is released next week, you will get to name the Castle Themed Vekoma Mine Train! -
