The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
SoCalCoasters replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
California Adventure should take the new parachute style ride that opened at Disneyand Paris and open one where maliboomer (still around but not for long) stands. That was one of the orginal ideas for the park, but it was scrapped. Also, it was to be based on the Anaheim band "No Doubt." Wonder if Disney has any animations/concept art for it lying around... Still...with the huge success of the other Rock N' Roller Coasters it make you wonder if the project is on a back burner waiting for a good oportunity to open...sort of like the Monsters Inc suspended coaster for Disney Hollywood Studios. -
Geauga Lake Discussion Thread

QFT In many cases, the same people who have become the "preservationists" of a ride that is doomed were also the people who WERE NOT supporters that could have helped prevent a ride from meeting it's demise. Case in point, I was actually one of Psyclone's supporters...although I was supporting it's demise! --Robb "Can I pull down a few boards? PLEASE????" Alvey Agreed. Psyclone had an interesting layout that was cool to look at, but excruciatingly painful to ride. -

In your Knotts post you mentioned problems with YMCA style groups. I had the exact same issue at Universal Studios while waiting for Jurassic Park. The kids were constantly hitting each other, pushing other people that were in front of them (me), line jumping left and right and swearing like crazy. And their chaperone didn't tell them to stop except for one time which was when one kid pushed the other into the side of a vending machine. Talk about disrespect. Edit: My 100th Post! -

Santa Monica West Coaster on August 19th. It actually has a pop of airtime in the back. -
Over The Shoulder Restraints. (OTSRs)

You know, more coasters that have OTSRs should get the kind that Blue Fire got. I've heard they are very comfortable and had no head banging. Plus they have the interesting pulse reader...it's an interesting concept. -
What area really needs a theme park?

Hey, that didn't stop Dubai! Oh, wait... That made my day! -
Back in March, I was waiting for Great Moments with Mr. Linclon to begin and began to chat with a bored Cast Member. He actually told me that Disney DOES have a Tron ride in the works. The strange thing was, he said it wasn't going to be a roller coaster...but he could have just no known. Funny thing is, I know other people who have chatted with bored cast members before and they found out about Space Mountian's remodel before it was announced; so this dicussion I had with him might not be totally false info. He didn't specify what park it would be in, but it's pretty obivious it's going to be in Disneyland since Cars Land is opening at DCA in 2012. Still hoping for a Lightcycle Roller Coaster though

Here's my favorites: X2: Pure anticipation of what's comming next Ghostrider: Fun little turn around before the massive lift The Dragon: Amazing darkride section made completely of legos (it's half the ride) Both Giant Dippers: Classic Dark Tunnel Big Thunder Mountian (CA): Mine Caverns are amazingly detailed Haven't really been on any others that stand out

Yeah...the only time I've had a real source was when a Dinsey castmember accidentally told me a few things about the Tron ride he wasn't supposed to... let's just say it's not just a rumor Note: to confirm the source, I asked five other cast members who said a Tron ride was coming, but didn't reveal anything else SFMMwise, I found a funny video on YouTube of Superman the Escape...modified...lol the person cgi'd it to make it look like it flies Off the track and then back on...it's called Roller Coaster Day 2010 by freddiew

Ok I'm sorry for making Screamscape look "idiotic" because of what I tried to find out about the ride. I didn't mean to do anything stupid...I just tried to find of about the ride. You said yourself that you sent something toLance that was incorrect...so I guess I could be wrong. I am not trying to make up a "pipedream". I simply tried to come up with the most logical choice of coaster. For that I am sorry, truly.

I did some serious background research of the park terrain and their budget and came up with the possibility of a ZacSpin...I didn't mean to act stupidly, I actually put some time into researching their next big project...I in no way meant to "hinder" the site. I mean come on...there isn't a single ZacSpin in the US, they would not need a big plot of land (Tidal Wave is leaving so there is a perfect amount of space for one), Six Flags has dealt with Intamin in the past and I'm sure they could work out a deal for fixing one coaster and building another for a reduced price, ZacSpins provide a amazing ride experience in a small plot of land, and finally, they don't have an outrageous price tag. Since all the parks try and find ways to save money and bring guests in, this type of ride seemed to be the most likely (besides an El Loco) and the most $ signs per foot. Oh and they don't take that long to build. I'm sorry if you thought i was trying to satrt a rumor mill on Screamscape...even Robb mentioned the idea of a dive machine, and it ended up on Screamscape. I guess what I'm trying to say here is I don't just suddenly jump to conclusions and email Screamscape what I thought. I did a google earth of the park and Tidal Wave is a good spot to a put a ZacSpin...so I did do my research. Sorry for the long post
