  1. I just got in line, right next to QueerRudie, a fellow TPR member! Only six hours to go!
  2. Well, Legoland isn't wasting any time it seems as 3/4 of their projects had visable construction. The Waterpark was closed, I did get a shot of it, but it doesn't appear as if any work is being done.
  3. I asked about the Bionicle Blaster Retheme, and was told no one had asked about it before, and that they didn't know. Though, the sign said the attraction was down for annual matanence, and would return. I find it highly unlikely that Daytona will return due to the fact that the site has been totally razed, not just pieces taken for a rehab. I will have construction vids up tomorrow for everyone!
  4. Well...now that the Mack 2012 Sea World Coaster Drawings have surfaced, it seems there is hope for SWSD! http://www.screamscape.com/html/seaworld_california.htm It looks like it is going to feature two launches and a barrel roll! Manta, the supposed name of the ride (boo for lack of originallity) will have Manta themed cars, as expected...
  5. I'm excited to hear about this, and willl have a video report of the construction of the re-models and miniland/model builders activity up tomorrow! If I had to guess, the new area is going in on the site of the old Miniland FL NASA Discovery Center, which was removed several years ago (anyone know why?) and has been barren every since. This is much better than a pile of woodchips, as many others probably agree! I'm sad to hear the only remanents of Bionicle are going to be on the spinning ride (Being a fan of the series for all ten years has that effect on you), and I have a feeling that is going to be next year's, rehab/retheme to the new Hero Factory series that replaced Bionicle this year, since the Imagination Zone building area is getting re-themed as we speak. The Fire Academy retheme I saw coming months ago, as the attraction was beining to look very worn out (paint fading, effects not working, cars moving slower), and am happy to see them put in the effort to remodel this attraction, being so unique to the park, I hope it never leaves! The new waterpark area is most likely going behind the current kiddie area, which is currently the staging area for plants to be placed throughout the park. It doesn't appear it will take up all the space, so I expect little expansions to the area over the next few years. (Giant eyesore mound of dirt behind Pirate Shores anyone?) Now with 2012 on the horizon and most CA parks adding something big, I believe Legoland will too.... With the Legoland Hotel Scheduled to open next year, it would make sense that the park would add something big along with it... The Cancled Wooden Coaster Project Maybe? `SoCal-can't wait for 2012-Coasters
  6. I'm in Carlsbad CA, and am: -10 mintues from Legoland CA -25 minutes From the SD County Fair -45 minutes from Sea World SD & Belmont Park -60 minutes from the Disneyland Resort -65 minutes from Knott's Berry Farm -70 minutes from Castle Park -120 minutes from Six Flags Magic Mountain 9 Parks in a two hour vicinity isn't bad at all
  7. Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain It was my first trip to Magic Mountain, and I wanted to hit it first.... It was closed for almost the whole day, but I managed to ride it in the evening, as my last ride...
  8. Here's the best one for me: 2005, New Space Mountain Launches At Disneyland. GP: OH MY GAWD THE SPACE MOUNTAIN WAS CHANGED AND HAZ A LOOPZ IN IT! Exact guest quote. People seriously though SM did a loop....
  9. The terrain looks choppy because you build rides through it.
  10. So outside the 15 X 15 Square, can you have scenery and other rides, or doea it all have to be inside?
  11. Giant Dipper in San Diego was the roughest I've ever seen it this past Holiday, they need to get rid of those evil Morgan trains and replace them with the more traditional looking Millenium Flyer Trains, possibly, they could call up GCI.
  12. This park looks interesting, but very cluttered. It almost looks like all the pidture are of half finished attractions. Also, fix all the terraforming errors, as they stick out like a sore thumb. Unclutter the park, and fix the terrian, and you'll have a much better looking park.
  13. Awesome job with the mine train Folf, keep it up!
  14. Probably the weirdest breakdown I've ever experienced was on the Matterhorn. Everything started out normal, regular course la di da... Then all of a sudden, I saw an object in the tracks below, thinking the cars would roll over it, I paid no attention to it. BUT when our car got the object it was very different from what I though would occur. A hat, lost by some idiot who took it on the ride, caught under the wheels of our bobsled and sent us screeching to a halt, in the middle of the layout! Luckily, Disney's block brake system worked, and another car didn't collide with ours. We then were evacuated down through the innards and out the trails of the faux mountain. Definitely an interesting breakdown. It took them about an hour or so to fix the ride, and get it testing again.
  15. I'll try, but: You can't make a park smaller than 50 X 50 That's the smallest it will go.
  16. Looks good so far, but remember, there has to be a Thomas Town in the Ringo Star area!
  17. I didn't find any of those rough actually, and I just went on 3/4 recently. Boomerang is only a little rough in the front row, Vortex is a little head-bangy, Revolution I've always found to be very smooth, and Mean Streak was never rough for me. It's actually quite interesting, I went on Kong, at SFDK, nearly no head banging, only rough a little bit after the sidewinder! It was the smoothest I've seen it ever, not that it has ever been terribly rough to me. If anything, Grizzly, at CGA is likely the roughest coaster in the entire world.
  18. Based on people's reactions to the video promo, I have a feeling Sky Screamer is going to have a line nearly as long as Kong or Medusa. you won't miss it coming into the park, and will draw more people in with the impact of the Skyline which now has a Starflyer.
  19. Sorry, I wrote that at midnight so those facts were off Where was that flyer supposed to go anyway? I had always wondered where it was going to go, but never could figure it out. Intamin is the company that comes to mind in this situation. As we know, SFDK is a pretty family-oriented park, but lacks another BIG coaster besides Roar, that families above 48" but below 54" can go on together. Big Spin isn't very big, and has possibly the worst capacity in the park, so I don't count it. I have a feeling a Chetah Hunt style family launched coaster is on it's way to SFDK, most likely using the space currently occupying the old theater and it's surrounding area, since it is the only space the park has left to build on that is a large enough space for a coaster. Intamin has already helped Discovery Kingdom by giving them their badass V2 with a heart line roll, so I wouldn't put it past them to ask Intamin for another project.
  20. I'm going to the east coast (sort of) for the first time. If you consider Florida the east coast. The parks I'm headed to there are USF, IOA, BGT, and SWO. The rides I can't wait for there: Chetah Hunt Montu Dueling Dragons Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Revenge Of The Mummy Manta Journey To Atlantis Amazing Adventures Of Spiderman I can't wait for this summer!
  21. Great News! To ring in the new year, I'm happy to report: COBRA is staying! I was at SFDK and asked about Sky Screamer to staff operating Cobra, Medusa and Kong, their response, Cobra is staying, and the location for Sky Screamer has not yet been decided.... It will either be either to the right, or the left of Cobra, but management hasn't locked down the location yet. Also, the Sky Screamer promos are being plastered on TVs all over the park, with people always stopping to watch. I have a feeling Sky Screamer is going to have a pretty big raw. In other news, it looked as if there might of been some recent activity up by the old motion simulators....why did they stop using them in the first place since they were an up-charge? 2012 Intamin Family Launcher anyone? But in all seriousness, the park is prepping for something large scale, ie. A coaster. The park hasn't added a major coaster since 2004 when the Infamous Zonga failtacularly entered the park's coaster lineup for a mere two years. (and was only open the number of days equivalent to 3-4 months) Thomas and Tony Hawk have been dropped, saving them money on the copy writes. Space is another factor. The only area they could possibly use without removing a current attraction is the old motion simulator building, and the surrounding area. (Google Earth) 2012 is going to be a big year for SFDK I have a feeling.
  22. -Giovandola pulling out of the coaster industry after only three coasters, all of which kick ass. -Caprio, need I say more? -The Intamin cable still causing pain and destruction where ever it goes -Perilous Plunge, and Hydro, both took lives -Permier's ferris wheel lift hill -Disneyland not bringing back The Carousel Of Progress and keeping Innoventions -Granite Park, Fresno CA -Painted Brakes -Pointless Roller coaster gimmicks -Gertslauer rides CRAPacity (capacity) And much more!

  24. -The development of S&S Powers from S&S Sports -Psyclone Being Removed From SFMM -GCI giving us their innovations and we can't forget their crown achivement: Prowler. -The Intamin Cable Still Causing Trouble -Magnetic Brakes becoming commonplace on coasters -Permier Rides giving us three Revenge Of The Mummy Dark Coasters -Vekoma Developing A Restraint That Doesn't: -B&M's Flying Coaster -Theme Park Review (yes I know the site was around before then, but that was the stone age of the Internet) -Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 & 3 -Mack's awesome spinning coaster becomes popular -4th Dimension, Wingwalker etc. Style Coasters -Kuka Coaster Arms -Legoland California rapidly becoming one of the top amusement parks in California -Onboard audio becoming commonplace on coasters.
