  1. I'd say duos, and would it be a collaboration, or two different parks, but on a team?
  2. Remember everyone, you still turn it an entry, no matter how unfinished up until tomorrow!
  3. Same here, I just completed this awesome micro: A Trip To Egypt SCR14.BMP Attractions: Impulse: Curse of Anubis, Mine Train: Scafolding Express, Ghost Train: Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, Magic Carpet: Magic Carpet Ride, and the Swinging Inverter Ship: Chariot of Ra.
  4. Getting to be in the park when it was closed, and backstage...really interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes at Legoland! The strangest thing she told me is that the miniland models only last about 2-3 years, and then are replaced by indentical models! Also, when models loose their sheen, they sandblast them...with almond shells!
  5. Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to interview Beth Chee, Media Representative of Legoland California. Here is the full interview: It was amazing to see the back stage of Legoland, and I want to give a HUGE thanks to Beth for making this interview happen! Enjoy!
  6. Based on those pictures, the begining looks similar to Saw's indoor section. Makes me wonder if this one has an indoor begining as well... The other thing I wonder is how much track is going to have to be replaced by the end of the first season, considering Saw and Curse Of Novorgod both had problems with track wearing out after one season. I hope Gertlauer has sorted that problem out now. I want to go just for that awesome Thomas Town! That Thomas darkride looked awesome! (SFMM should've taken notice when they build their Thomas Town. Of course, being SFMM they didn't take notice.)
  7. I understand certain people are very enthusiastic about the removal of Invertigo, possibly for something new. Will they add something new there? Maybe. Will it be a coaster? perhaps. Will it be an expensive Intamin or Custom Woodie? I highly doubt it. I can just imagine CF looking for the cheepest large scale coaster they can find and ploping it down where Invertigo was. A woodie is highly doubtful for obvious reasons: there's another one about 100ft away from Invertigo's location. I can see them looking at a Medium Scale coaster of a not so high price. Gertslauer comes to mind again. It just doesn't make sense that they'd suddenly pull out a gigantic wad of cash for a major coaster for a park they've ignored since they bought it.
  8. Dixie Landin's Extreme, Maurer Spinning coaster threw someone off last summer, they were fatally wounded. And now La Qua's Spinning coaster has thrown someone off...
  9. really, i enjoy that ride. Yes, its very shaky, but thats what alomost makes it fun, if it was smooth, it would be boring. I love the Giant Dipper, and I love Belmont Park! Don't hate the ride, its like the only big coaster in San Diego (other than Journey to Atlantis) Um.. I not hating on the ride as you say that I am, I'm simply adressing the fact that the ride is beginning to become as un-ridable as Ghostrider, even with the new complete stop at the block brakes. Another big coaster you're not taking into account is Technic, just because it's at Legoland, doesn't mean it's a kiddie coaster.
  10. La Qua can't catch a break can they? Does anyone else find it weird that this is the second accident a Maurer Spinner in six months? Both involving fatalities from people falling off?
  11. Alright, checking it out right now! Rememeber everyone! You have until Midnight on Febuary 1st to complete your design. You may submit late work up until Febuary 3rd with a reduction of five points. Good luck to everyone!
  12. You can start by using proper grammar...if you don't you'll be banned. He means your regular paths around the park, widen them so it is easier for the peeps to move around. Proper Grammar ^
  13. I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve this time!
  14. Looks great! This park really shows what you can do with NCS! I can't wait to see the others!
  15. The "Quick fix" coasters that I can see coming for 2012 are one of the following: Eurofighter: Popular with the GP, their compact layouts,(preferably launched) and reasonably good capacity if they have a decent crew for them. Not too expensive for a cloned layout either. ZacSpin: Visually stunning and intimidating, these rides are perfect for drawing in a thrill seeking crowed. Honestly, capacity would still be better than Invertigo. Once again, the price is right. El Loco: This type of coaster is becoming very popular, with a third installation happening this year at a small French Park. it's compact size and intensity make it a good Invertigo replacement. Money wise, you know the drill. Mack Spinner: I'm going to thow this one out on the table. Sierra is a great ride for families families and thrill seekers alike, compact layout and completely different from Big Spin.I looked at Invertigo's plot of land and though of Sierra. The are the four most feasable coasters we can see coming in 12'. I just can't see CF adding some massive 18 million dollar custom vertical lift or mega lite for CGA. I would certainly like to see those come to the park, but I have a feeling this will be sort of a test coaster. if the public responds and attendance rises again, they may keep the park. If not, they can pull out. That's sort of the way I see it.
  16. Chat's been like this off and on for about a week now Robb, right after that last "error" was fixed, a new one appeared...
  17. Can we PLEASE stop with the CGA bashing! I understand people are upset that Invertigo is being removed, but just whinning about it isn't going to fix ANYTHING! Honestly, if they, THEORETICALLY were to build a new coaster on this spot, as stated before, there are two very good reasons. #1: Invertigo has had a TON of bad publicity, getting stuck in 2002, and then again in 2007 (which made the NATIONAL news). Removing a bad publicity ride is a good move. #2: This plot of land is away from the whiny neighbors who think GCA is a menace (YOUR BUSINESS IS RIGHT NEXT TO AN AMUSEMENT PARK! What else would you expect to hear? Hmm?) and they would have no complaints if, or when they open a new coaster. Just my view of things... -SoCal "Invertigo is leaving, and I'm not going to keep whinning" Coasters (And yes, I have been on it. It was a smooth Vekoma)
  18. Rita, Mummy, Desert Storm, are all great rides and under 30 ft. tall. (correct me if I'm wrong) and it's been long rumored that MACK sold a launched coaster to a park in California. I'm leaning towards MACK here, mainly because JTA is also a MACK creation and turned out pretty well.
  19. PROJECT FINISHED, For Good Today, I decided once and for all to finish Carlsbad Gardens; by letting YOU decide. The park is now up for Download. Thank you to all those who supported me, mainly Djbrace, without him, I would have given up long ago. Thanks to all those who helped make this park my first ever attempt at a real RCT2 park possible...It was a great experience, and I'd hate to just leave it hanging. There is about a quarter of the land left...what can you do with it? Thank you all. - Thanks everyone! Please check the park out... Carlsbad Gardens October, Year 24.SV6 Enjoy
  20. I really hope something like this is truly transpiring and that CF isn't going to pull another "GL" on us. Back when CGA was still PGA, the park had a sort of spark to it, the atmosphere was unique and different. I think the park lost a bit of that charm when CF bought the parks from Paramount. In my opinion, it's like taking Disney out of Disneyland, it just doesn't work as well as it was originally anticipated to be, and yes I know Marriott did originally own the park. So cheers to the next chapter, good or bad, it all begins now. -SoCalCoasters
  21. I was in kidergarden when someone showed me a website called www.coastergallery.com. I was immediately enthralled, and over the course of a month or two, I looked at every single picture, and the fact that went with each, in total, over 2,000 pictures. I was a coaster fan until 05' when our family took a trip to Ohio to visit cousins, and went to Cedar Point. I wasn't quite 54' yet, so I didn't get any inversion coasters at CP. Millenium Force was what turned me from a knowledgeable coaster fan, to full on enthusiast. That ride was something, especially when you are a member of the GP, like I was then...
  22. Medusa (West) has a great pre-drop which creates a brief moment of tension before the major action begins. Roar (West) also has a great first droo, and has aged really well, always a fantastic ride! It's not exactly a drop, but Tatsu's Pretzel Loop Dive has to be on of the most insane moments ever!
  23. Look at Grona Lound and the woodie they're adding, its in a smaller space than this! I -really- hope a new attraction will takes it's place, but it just doesn't seem feasable...
  24. I saw this. I swore. I swore some more. I cursed Cedar Fair. I ranted. I watermarked an old picture of Invertigo and sent it to everyone I know. Then I sent an anrgy e-mail to CGA management which too was watermarked. Here I am now. With this picture. Even the watermark hates Cedar Fair for this!
