  1. I enjoyed Oblivion. It may not be the greatest Sci-Fi movie out there but it certainly was far from being the worst. The visuals and the score make it worth seeing. The ending is a bit weird.
  2. That honestly looks like it could be one of the best dark rides Disney has ever made. Not sure why but I really loved the crossbow animatronic and the spinning pot with the figure fighting the lion. Also, they better be selling Albert stuffed animals somewhere in the park.
  3. Zierer's Tivoli line certainly has made a name for themselves in the "large meandering family coaster" department between this, Pepsi Orange Streak and Jaguar. On another note: that station is really high up.
  4. And everyone should also listen to this. One of the greatest video game soundtracks PERIOD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J5LRxhp6A4
  5. ^I've always loved the look of Coaster Dynamix, but whenever I try to get a set, they're always sold out. I understand that your focus currently is on the Gatekeeper sets and O Scale Flats, so maybe I'll invest in one of those when they come out.
  6. In terms of Gatekeeper being the focal point of the entrance I would definitely say it's more memorable than the entrance areas of many of those parks. They may have more theming and detail, but CP has a monstrous roller coaster navigating a zero G roll through two stark white towers.
  7. The show does have a massive following here in the States. No it doesn't. Small but vocal maybe. You'd be surprised. However, I really can't see a Doctor Who ride at an SFI park.
  8. I "road" Radiator Springs Racers and visited Carsland for the first time on Friday. What an incredible accomplishment for both WDI and Pixar. I don't know about you guys, but the first thirty seconds of the ride (the short outdoor portion) was perfection for me.
  9. Is my model of Technic's Car & Track still on display in the Clubhouse? It took forever to model, especially since the reference picture I used was a tiny one from a Lego Club magazine.
  10. Had someone I know mention that Battlefield 4 was more of an art piece than Bioshock Infinite.... Bioshock Infinite > 99% of Games out there...just saying. Plus: 4-5 Years of Development > 1-2 Years of Development I'll take another journey through Columbia or Rapture over a COD or Battlefield game any day of the week.
  11. Get it. I realized about ten minutes in that it'll end up most likely as Game of the Year. I finished my first playthrough earlier today (going to try 1999 Mode...dear lord save me) The game is definitely a Bioshock game. And...the game is worth the ending alone. (DO NOT LOOK UP ANY SPOILERS) I'll honestly say it's one of, if not the best game I've ever played. The scenery is drop dead gorgeous. Here's some non-spoiler screens I took: Bring Us the Girl, and Wipe away the Debt. Skylines, pretty early on in the game. When you first step out into Columbia.
  12. Okay, I'm six hours into Bioshock Infinite. I realized it was Game of the Year about ten minutes in. There has never been a game that so perfectly captures the player, then holds them tightly in and gripping narrative. Irrational, all the delays were worth it, this may be my favorite game of all time. So. Freaking. Gorgeous. (and actually pretty scary where I am now)
  13. I'm about 2-3 hours into Bioshock Infinite and it's a very enjoyable game. Not only are the visuals absolutely unbelievable (at least on PC), but the fighting mechanics and new gameplay elements feel fresh, without losing that traditional Bioshock feel. The game is very willing to tackle a lot of serious issues, and early on in the game you'll encounter a scene that will most likely make your jaw drop due to the nature of the content. Nothing is sugar coated. This is a turn of the century Americana Utopia. I would definitely recommend the game. I haven't quite gotten to Elizabeth yet, but I'm at Monument Island, so she can't be too far off.
  14. Just got to the twist in Bioshock. Oh. My God. Would you kindly pinch me?
  15. ^Yes, it does need to be out for a while before people make such grandiose assumptions about it, positive or negative. I'm just sick of the back and forth between both sides. There's heavy bias on both fronts, and separating pros and cons is extremely difficult as a result. It's hard to talk to either side about the issue from a neutral perspective, because any time you try to establish middle ground, it devolves into fighting and arguing over trivial stuff.
  16. All this stuff regarding MyMagic+ and Fastpass+ Either everyone is endlessly praising it or vehemently condemning it. There's no middle ground and I have yet to encounter an article written about it that seems to address both the pros and the cons of the system fairly.
  17. I actually like them. They match the creepy demeanor of the ride. Plus they match the color scheme the ride will have once completed (Black, white and yellow).
  18. ^I know it uses trackless vehicles. I was commenting on the fact that it's very easy for the ride to have multiple ride paths because of the trackless nature.
  19. ^The station actually doubles as an elevator. The transfer track is underneath. It's pretty cool to watch them take a train off or on.
  20. ^I don't think it's rubbish. Winnie the Pooh's honey hunt has been operating at TDL for nearly a decade with variable ride paths for it's trackless vehicles. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find Mystic Manor having multiple ride experiences.
  21. and clunky, and unaerodynamic, and ugly. Bleech! Awful trains on a pretty good ride, for 1996 If it isn't broken, there's no reason to fix it. SD2000's trains were a problem. A wheel was ejected into the water park off one of the trains mid-ride. Japan has some of the strictest amusement park upkeep laws in the world due to the horrible accident on Fujin Rajin II in 2008 at Expoland. The park was then closed. The spinning coaster at LaQua was removed very quickly after someone fell from one of its ride vehicles. Thunder Dolphin is still closed due to maintenance issues (falling screw? last time I checked). These B&M trains were probably the easier way for Nagashima to keep SD2000 running. The existing Morgan trains were a problem, so they were removed.
  22. With how rigorously tested Lego's product lines are before they are put into production, along with the fact that the original testing feedback was the most well received in more than a decade, Merlin probably felt comfortable launching a ride the summer after the product is first released to the market. This is actually the -perfect- time to open the ride, as the series will be at the height of it's popularity. The IP is -very- popular. The sets are very well made and have a lot of playability, something Lego has become better and better at doing over the past decade. If you look at the media released you can see that passengers will begin inside the building, with a short dark ride section, proceed to the outdoor "battle areas" where passengers will engage in the signature feature of the ride system, the water battles. You will then move back indoors for the "finale" sequence. The Lego parks continue to improve their attractions, and this looks to be one of the best themed experiences yet.
