  1. Considering just how quickly Transformers went up this past year, I wouldn't be surprised if they indeed have the new area ready for release along with the movie. Oh, and anyone remember that concept Gravity Group showed off a couple years ago at IAAPA for a small woodie with a darkride section?
  2. Source: Welcome, to Jurassic Park...Part 2? The next addition/expansion for Universal’s Islands of Adventure has been rumored to be in the works for years. All sorts of rumors have come and gone, with little more than a second-look after the initial excitement wore down. Over the course of the past several months, one rumor kept getting brought up in conversation. So while I knew of it, I thought it was best to hang on to it until I could get some more details. Well, earlier this month rumored details started to come in, and it seems Jurassic Park will be the future location of Universal’s newest construction walls. The plan that has been put on the table is directly aimed at families, and its sole purpose is to follow the “Potter” path of guest spending. By that, I mean increase guest spending through unique food and beverage offerings; as well as loads of merchandise for sale. Everyone will get a perfect example of Universal’s new direction once Springfield opens up this summer at the Studios. It is going to be full of food, beverages, games, merchandise and unique souvenirs for guests to spend loads of their hard earned money on. Most importantly, it will bring more families into the gates. I’m sure you’ve seen their latest marketing campaign, Universal will be targeting families in a different light for the foreseeable future, and this expansion will be aimed directly at them. Overall the entire Island would be receiving a face-lift. While the main focus is adding two new attractions, there are several other projects being considered within this expansion. Here is a list of the details I’ve been given: Rumored expansion details:
  3. THIS. I don't understand all the criticism people have for her simply because she runs the park differently than Jay did.
  4. ^It's my understanding that most HUSS attractions can be basket cases for parks, needing a great deal of maintenance and experiencing a lot of downtime.
  5. I honestly like a lot of the things Merlin does for their marketing. The community may find some of them to be obnoxious or overblown, but their rides are successful because they do such interesting and widespread craziness. The contest to be the first ride Th13een? The months of buildup? How many websites ended up covering that? The Bottomless elevator shaft prank for Sub Terra? Building its backstory off of Nemesis? An entire haunt maze devoted to building up the back story for the Ministry of Joy? The creepy logos all over England? Whether we like it or not, they have our attention, and that was their goal in the first place.
  6. I agree with you on that, Intamin should be building more pre-fabs but its what the parks want, so i dont know why parks dont want them?! They are sweet $$$$$$$$$ Is the main reason. Prefabricated Wooden Coasters take far more skill to craft and construct than an ordinary wooden coaster.
  7. Aka: We'd know what it was if we saw it. Take what we know, combine it with the size of the "censored" part of the picture and I think you have a space the size of that rumored inverting track piece.
  8. I hope it's a new story or a reboot rather than a continuation of the previous story. And along with the 2014 Release, they are re-releasing the original Jurassic Park in 3D and in IMAX this April.
  9. Despite the supposedly poor rid they allegedly give, I've always loved the look of the two Intamin/Pinfari layouts. The scenery and the ride look fun.
  10. ^^ I love Tower of Terror (yes he DCA version), despite all it's hatred, so I'm glad to see there's some love for it . ^^^Concerning the One Disney managements however, that seems like a pretty major oversight. If DCA was sent the wrong papers, than that probably means TDS and DLP also got the wrong items as well. 1/4 on something like that concerns me for what else could happen. I do hope that the kinks are worked out sooner rather than later, and that the system will work as intended.
  11. ^I'd lean towards that as well considering one of the big selling points Technical Park advertises for the Flying Fury is the two different ways the ride rotates 360°. Hence 360° 2x
  12. 2010: Organization: We want to re-open the park. Fair Board: We'll think about it. Nah. 2011: Organization: We want to re-open the park. Fair Board: We'll think about it. Nah. 2012: Organization: We want to re-open the park. Fair Board: We'll think about it. Nah. 2013:????
  13. This sounds more like that new S&S 4-D coaster design that showed up at IAAPA or an this past year or an Intamin ZacSpin rather than a Stingray. Or it could be something totally different. Never know.
  14. Yeah if they plan to open in 2014 or 2015 they better start working soon. When I've driven by the site it doesn't even seem as if any land has even been cleared yet. It is a very large plot of land though and it would be very nice for the local economy if this park ever opened up. The highway running through the land though is only a few lanes so that is going to be a nightmare unless the widen it. I'm not a huge fan of the whole Eco-friendly theme since I feel it will jsut cost more and add more delays to the park but it would be cool to have the be the "greenest" theme park in america. This is the sign that I was refering to earlier as well: Yeah...there's really no way that the park could open by next year, let alone the next three years. Considering that the project is being federally investigated for misuse of funds, I doubt any investors will want to give them money. This project is pretty much dead.
  15. I'm not sure how I feel about this system. On one hand, it's a fantastic piece of Next Gen tech that makes Resort visits even more of a breeze, but I also have some reservations about it. Personally I'm going to wait until the system is active and fully implemented before I make a judgement. I'm not going to prematurely praise it, rather I'll wait to see how it operates.
  16. it took me less than 5 minutes to get my two year Silver Pass for Sea World today at Sea World at a ticket kiosk. No need for a whole drawn out process. Heck, they actually got rid of their entire season pass processing building a while back!
  17. ^Well, this system has worked for rides like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and Space Fantasy, although those can move through a lot more people, and were designed with continuous loading in mind.
  18. Bilbo Baggins and the Unexpected Journey, a new Kuka Darkride coming to a Universal Park new you. Has a good ríng to it, no?
  19. You do realize that S&S's traditional 4D coaster is one of the most expensive coaster systems in the world right? That idea is a massive pipe dream more than anything else...
  20. Since the new Fire Emblem game will be arriving in March, I've been replaying Shadow Dragon and trying to do 100% routing of the enemy and 100% survival rate. And they NEED to make a new Fire Emblem game for the WiiU. Radiant Dawn was absolutely awesome, and I have yet to play another strategy game with such an insane final boss.
  21. How would you know if all of Full_Throttle's parts have been manufactured yet?
  22. Full TR Coming Soon, but for now... PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR CUTENESS OVERLOAD! [youtube2] [/youtube2]
