  1. Called it. This ride looks like it's going to be themed quite well! I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
  2. You know, there's a park in California that could really use a new coaster like this, since the last new one was over seven years ago... The last brand new major thing at Legoland CA was built nearly four years ago now.. I'm still sticking with my Zerier theory. It seems as if Zerier is to the Lego Parks as Intamin is to Hershey. As for the theming, based on the concept art, I imagine it will start out above ground, do a good majority of te layout, the. Have the drop and darkride section as the finale ala Th13teen. Also, I suspect Polar Bears will play a major role in the ride seeing as they are strongly emphasized in the concept animation. Just thinking out loud here... Edit: Also, don't forget that technically speaking, while they are their own separate companies, Blackstone does own both Merlin and Busch Entertainment, and I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of multi-attraction deal contract has been established as possibly a slightly cheaper way to add additions to both companies' parks.
  3. Very interesting...it almost seems as if they took the best qualities of classic Knotts and mixed them with the best of Disney! This park could have very well rivaled Disney had it been built...the level of detail and theming on this park looks astounding. Was there any kind of an estimate as to how many people this would have drawn in?
  4. Being TPR's biggest Legoland Nerd...all I can say is... WANT!!!!! This really does look like a great addition, and I really hope a similar design shows up in sunny SoCal some day. as for who designed it...I'm actually going to guess Zerier considering the fact that both of Legoland Malaysia's coasters are going to be made by Zerier...
  5. About the motion simulator... During Bay Area Bash they mentioned that they had future plans in store for the theater over the next several years...so itI will be interesting to see how that pans out and whether or not a haunt maze will still take up residence there if/when it reopens.
  6. I think Son Of Beast is one ghost that no one wants to have return from the grave. Joking aside, these are some pretty cool postcards/brochures!
  7. ^If the ride system is similar to Extremis, I'd imagine it'll relatively high capacity and pack quite a punch. Extremis looks pretty screwed up (in a good way) from the videos I've seen. I don't think it'll be a clone, but seeing as both attractions are Merlin ventures I would not be surprised if they borrowed elements from Extremis for Nemisis: Beneath.
  8. Those really aren't stations...just covers over only the station track. Since when did a Batman clone have a canvas station? Never, they've always been in somewhat moderately themed buildings with extensive queues. Make full stations with actual depth to them. Onc again, just don't do a story...focus on ride and scenery development instead...seriously.
  9. Someone definitely has a spelling issue. I kid.
  10. Aw...I liked that dolphin. This just goes to show that just because they're in captivity doesn't mean that their life span is hindered. ^ Kong...the only context where that would make sense would be if they were talking about the number of SLCs. Even then, that's quite the stretch...
  11. I really doubt Intamin will sue Zerier over the fact that they used magnetic brakes. Honestly, rides use magnetic brakes more than the conventional pinch brakes now a days. As for that drop system. Intamin's system wasn't a true free fall. It used a system where it was "pulled" downward. If I'm looking at this right, it looks like this will be like a conventional free fall on a coaster, and is probably going to be easier to maintain than Intamin's due to the more simplistic system. I cannot wait to see this completed! It really is the attraction of 2012 that I am looking forward to the most with all of it's unique elements, theming and such.
  12. Indiana Beach's former Yo-Yo location. ^ It was out on the water.
  13. The complexity of this drop section makes Th13teen's drop technology look like tinker toys That is one seriously complex piece of hardware!
  14. Mecah Love by Hadouken!
  15. RD, I have my mine train, but won't be able to upload it until tomorrow...will I still get the bonus points? Preview Screen: The ride has some theming, but I didn't go overboard, as I was trying to mimic how most mine trains were themed at the time. SCR96.BMP Ron Toomer's Coathanger Style at its best!
  16. Flight Of Fear -KI
  17. Onboard audio would have been a major selling point if it had it...you think they'd have mentioned it back when it was announced...
  18. If I recall correctly, Reaper, Drop Ride Of Doom at the London Dungeon has a similar system...can anyone who has been on that drop tower confirm/deny that system?
  19. That looks fantastic! I can't to see how it turns out! I'll you be custom supporting the coasters?
  20. ^Yeah, I understand that part. I mean, Legoland CA opened with just Dragon, added SpellBREAKING the next year, and then Technic the year after that. The way this looks however, I somewhat doubt the park will be getting a major new area aside from the water park next year. Speaking of LLM, what happened? Is the project still actually going? It seems like we've heard so little news about it... And it's already been confirmed that Legoland Dubai has been canceled. No surprise there...
  21. california.legoland.com/bot/ Just thought I'd mention that the Legoland Brick Or Treat weekends will be starting this weekend and will feature fireworks as well as many other halloween activities around the park. One thing I noticed that I'm not sure they had in the past was that The Brick or Treat weekends will be a seperate admission for those who do not have a season pass (I'm lucky I do). The event will be from 5-9 every weekend till Halloween. This might actually lower the crowds a bit so hopefully I'll get one of those insanely amazing night rides on Knight's Tournament. Frankly any ride at legoland after dark is pretty interesting because of the way the park has low-to-the-ground lighting that doesn't normally illuminate the rides very much.
  22. I find it funny that Legoland FL opened with more coasters than Legoland CA currently has...or any other Legoland Park for that matter!
