Rides that Sometimes Run Differently
Fire2box replied to coasternate's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sky Screamers at Six Flags can/do. First time I went on the one at SFDK in september it went all the way up and back down. Rather then spin, go to the top, lower down a bit and back up. The next time I went on it with my friend it preformed exactly as it's wikipedia page said. -
Best Drops....
Fire2box replied to BiCoastal Kid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the best drop I've been on is X2. Looks rather terrifying on video first time you see it but it's rather fun in action. -
Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
Fire2box replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the log flume ride at CGA was pretty nerve wracking to me. I know I went on it alone once while I waited for my friends to get off Stealth. The drop isn't steep enough though you really launch you out at all though. I still had my feet firmly planted and my hands hanging onto whatever they could. Didn't really help to see the flume have drip leaks either. -

That was one of the first coaster('s?) I wanted to ride outside of America. Got to love dueling coasters more so ones with different track layouts. -
For some reason when someone prints text on paper and then takes a photo of it and puts it on Facebook people think it's more credible than if they just typed it. Sadly people tend to just believe anything they see on Facebook either way. I kinda want to go there and counter protest. SFDK I feel might not be as good as SeaWorld, but I have no doubt that they don't try to take care of the animals as best as they can. either way, they aren't going to be protesting at the ticket booths/main gate and most won't turn away after driving miles to SFDK just to turn around due to protesters who don't know what they are even talking about. i'm betting it will be a small group if even that.

Best Six Flags Park
Fire2box replied to OrlandoGuy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've only been to SFDK and SFMM, however out of the two of them SFDK wins hands down since it actually does offer something for everyone. I've had somewhat bad experinces with the staff there this year. The biggest of which was they didn't properly scan my season meal pass voucher so my first two visits were bad though thankfully I did receive every meal I should of gotten. On the 3rd visit I brought a new copy with me but it doesn't update their system instantly so both lunch and dinner it still didn't show up. Now on sunday on the 4th visit, after scanning my card my finger print wouldn't take. I figured they flagged my season pass for stealing/conning them out of food since they always wrote down my ID number. So I went back to season pass processing just to make sure there's no issues with anything. Also some of the workers couldn't name, locate or tell when the fright fest mazes were open. Uninterested workers are kinda lame IMHO but I get they could be bored out of their minds working the vendor stations. -
Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
Fire2box replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Absolutely! This should happen! We have Frozen in Norway, I'd agree with Mulan for China and Ratatouille for France, would prefer a 101 dalmations attraction for UK or even better expand for a Scotland section with a "Brave" attraction! It would be sad for a brave ride to be installed, as I feel it would have a better plot then the movie. I think a Ratatouille darkride would be nice though, but don't they actually have one in disneyland paris or whatever? -
Along the path that connects the medusa plaza to the dolphin theaters, it's on the right side. There's a staircase of like 30 steps and a long ramp with a switchback in the middle. the fright fest map sucks at showing it's true location, just the general area. And the general map of course doesn't have it shown at all. here's a picture of the park with a crappy arrow and circle highlighting its location. link to full image. i.imgur.com/NWBllTF.jpg

I went back to SFDK yesterday. Park wasn't bad at all asides from the oppressive heat. Superman barely had a 20 min wait at best during all 3 times I went on it. Medusa was a walk on unless you wanted front or back rows around 4 or so. Roar is running two trains again and the lower line in front of roar was never full when I went on or by. ride totals: Superman: 3 Medusa 2: Roar: 2 A concussive Boomerang ride : 1 (Go die in a scrapyard Boomerangs, seriously.) Fright Fest has always been pretty disappointing unfortunately. I love SFDK and go often but I don't make a special trip (East Bay) to Fright Fest, but if you haven't been yet it should be fun to see. Their haunted houses are mostly black walls and lack actors so don't expect much. Their scare zones were seriously lacking too, but Great Americas can as well. I didn't go to last years event though so hopefully someone can update you but I've been the previous years before that. I did check the site though and I'm sure what I told you will be accurate (the maze in the old 3D theater should be awesome though). You also have to pay a charge to get into the haunted houses, and the last time I went that experience was horrible. They only had 3 booths around the park and 1 person who had to collect money & put on your wristband. Took about 45 mins and the latest they stay opened at that time was either 10 or 11, was seriously glad I had time to ride Medusa as my only ride. This year they stay open till 12am Saturdays and Sundays so it should be fine. The years before we didn't have that problem also to be fair. I love Great America's haunt. It's like our mini Knott's Scary farm, though it has grown to be quite big event now. They've added a lot since they've opened & the offerings this year seem awesome. I do love SFDK during the Holidays though. They do a pretty great job at spreading Christmas all over the park. That's the reason why I feel fine missing Fright Fest now that I can get my nighttime Medusa rides in December. It's also extremely empty in the park during the Holidays which I love. SFDK is only open till 9pm on all sunday's in October. Midnight's are only on the last 3 Fridays and last 2 Saturdays of October @ SFDK. Source: 2014 SFDK Fright Fest map/info guide.

I think this time around the ride should be open in spring. I don't know why you're thinking it won't. Six Flags magic Mountain has a reputation to uphold for delaying openings. Not a good reputation, but a reputation nonetheless. But RMC is doing fantastic work and i think it'll actually be open on time. possibly even before hand.

Been playing Terraria on PC/Steam while waiting for SSB 3DS to release/get here from amazon. they are committing to a launch day delivery for prime members.

Dr.pepper Bonus: Barq's at SFDK.

Well, Node uploaded the video of magic mountain and their unofficial rollercoaster day. Seems like they didn't attract too many people since they announced it only like two days before their "event." No idea why Sam kept wearing his hat on the B&M roller coasters. He lost it on Scream as seen in the video, but some GP caught it.

Went back on sunday sep 28th. Crowds were decently light IMHO. Anyways my big event was bringing in my 2015 season meal pass print out before they forgot to scan it on september 6th and add it to my season pass. So I go into season pass processing and end up scoring a second 2015 free cup since I lied about not getting one. they finally link the meal pass and confirm it. though it still didn't ring up since it requires like 24 hours to update the whole parks system. Still got lunch and dinner meals though. I ended up buying the 15 dollar maze wristband though I did the good ones about 2-3 times each. the best mazes were: Nightmare Manor (bumper cars) Two, very good actors near the end. Didn't see something coming myself, actually made me jump twice near the end. Boathouse Blood Lake (boat flume ride) (Good, but there was always a decent line for it since it's the first right right by the wrist band sales.) Massacre Mine (white water rapids) Good actors and Slaughter Farms (former 3D action theater) slaughter Farms had the hands down best actors in it. PS, I was the one who barked like a dog at the end of the first hypnotism show at the bird theater (Was on stage). Case anyone was there for that.

Well Brandon JLa and freddie wong's little brother are doing i assume unoffical Rollercoaster Day 2014 on Thursday September 25th at SFMM. They are pretty popular but they announced this at the last min too. Though their last Roller Coaster day video had a lot of people show up for the initial meet up. So, expect longer lines then if they weren't doing it.

Walk Of Shame? Theme Park Wise
Fire2box replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I've might of done a personalized walk of shame from Topgun/flight deck. Back then I was maybe 14-15 and still getting the nerve to go on anything past Paramount's/CGA's wooden coaster. I did a walk of shame down a few flights of stairs at a water park due to my fear of heights and the slightly uncontrolled aspect of water slides. I knew it would of been safe. But for me water slides are still a no go, for now. Oh, there was a walk of shame on medusa on Sunday. guy seemed as big or bigger as the woman who fell off texas giant.
