  1. Well i haven't ridden Scream at all. But last season me and my friend rode the back of Medusa Twice and we thought it was very smooth and fast. Plus watching the front/middle riders going into the loop while being on the same ride is a experience in and of itself. Either way, I'd be surprised if Scream is actually rough. Medusa has always been decently smooth.
  2. Fast food doesn't have to be bad. IN n Out has some of the best burgers and decent fries that are made to order. Even jack in the box has decent food providing the location/staff. When you go to a park like Six Flags you at least want something comparable to that quality when your slapping down over 10 dollars for a full meal. Were not asking for stuff like knobells, or Knotts. But some members here seem to of had food that's cooked totally wrong like dry sand paper quality chicken. (i'm sorry for making this line of discussion though. We mostly all know theme park food for stuff like six flags can be of low quality.)
  3. I thought I had my VIP Trip (4 VIP tickets from the state farm sweeps last year) to SFMM nearly down for augest 13th. I invited my older brother who i also asked to take is VW station wagon. However after he closed on his mission/tasks here in California he went right up to Oregon to drop a friend off and is now moving to Maui. I told him not to worry about it though I do wish he could of come and he was my plan for getting us and 2 others down there. So now I'm left to where I was more then a month ago. So far I got me and my friend down to go but I can't drive since i'm too much of a pussy for it. So i'd like our 3rd or 4th party member to be able to drive as well so they can take shifts. Since its over 300 miles. I think we'll try and get out other friend as a 3rd but he can't drive either I think. I have no idea who we'll take as a 4th though and that person should, hopefully have a drivers license. Plus on top of this my friend wants to rent a car since his is kinda crappy I guess and we don't want to be stuck on I-5 going south, or coming back north. So we'll likely rent a car. (Well why don't you take your dad? I would but he's been a bit of a ass lately which is one of the reasons my brother left the state from what I gather. Plus my dad doesn't go on coasters anymore. PLUS he'd want to stay in LA for a few days to visit family. While my friend would have to get back home quickly to overbearing parents.) All of this would not be a problem if I actually had a life ya know.
  4. This is true. Even with VIP tickets covering one 'real" meal it still seems the better option would be go out to the car and grill something yourself on a little propane camping grill. I'm not sure if SFMM let's that fly, but I saw people do it at SFDK when me and my dad at lunch at our pickup for the 2010 season.
  5. Thanks. I'm a idiot for not even thinking to check SFMM's site. Anyways the menu looks lack luster. BJ's on the bottom.
  6. Does anyone know if a new BBQ joint took over where the old BBQ joint was last year? It's a buliding right by Riddlers. If so, do they have any good beef options?
  7. Yesterday, I went to the park (a Friday), and it was relatively empty. I got there at about 3pm and headed straight for Roar, and the line was at most 5 minutes. Then waited 15 minutes for V2. Got on SkyScreamer which had about a 20 minute line all day, and closed a few times, probably due to the high winds. At the peak of the day, the line for Medusa was maybe 30 minutes, and 20 for Kong. Then went to Tazmanian Devil and waited about 10 minutes. At about 6 the line for boomerang was 15-20 minutes and got a ride on that. From 6:30-8, me and my friend went back and fourth from Roar to V2, and got about 7 rides on each of them. It was insane. Those lines were non-existent. And this was a Friday during summer. Also, it was about 70-75 degrees and both of the water rides had no lines all day. I could have gotten lucky, but I also went on Wednesday this week and it was even less crowded. I would say the best day to go is a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. And count on Sky Screamer to have the longest wait of the day, as it is new. Wow last year I remember having to wait at least 25+ mins for rides on Roar. V2 and medusa's lines always moves fast though. I can't remember mudeusa ever having a 1 train operation day when I've been there.
  8. Freefall rides which I never been on any of so far, especially drop zone at CGA. It's just so high! Goliath at SFMM, which if my older brother goes with me on my VIP trip there he'll get me to go on, likely on the very front. (again, it's damn high.) Front seat on Medusa, Kong, V2 at SFDK. Roar however is fun on the front. Even better on the back though.
  9. When I think of theme parks I think of "young" active people that don't have flaws like no legs, down syndrome, ADD/ADHD (due to Lines). I don't mind parks opening up rides and such to the handicapped populous. But at some point a line has to be drawn of whats acceptable and whats not. For instance this guy should not of been on the ride at all with two missing legs. Like SharkTums said the park is pretty much screwed no matter what they did. That guy likely would of been pissed if he couldn't ride despite knowing of his legs condition. If I was a ride OP there I would of told him no way if I knew he din't have real legs. Which I know is near impossible to tell if he had pants and socks, shoes on. Which i'm betting he did. Just seems like a court case would of been easier if they denied him the ability to ride. Either way this is just something that should not of happened, period.
  10. Gosh I hope X2 gets it's audio back at least for the lifthill and station pull in. During the ride it's fine to not have beastie boys blasting out since even i couldn't hear it well at all. But the lift hill and the end song/effects are great. Also, I complained about X2 trashing my head around when i went on it last summer. It felt a bit like Kong at SFDK. don't kill me.
  11. The stargate ride (not in 3D) was just boring, and I'm a stargate fan. Dinosphere on the other hand was pretty cool especially back when it opened.
  12. Why are there arm guards on the outside? You can't reach anything that could possibly cause you harm from what i've seen. However on the inside it seems much more likely. However, I'll still ride GL and likely/hopefully enjoy it. From the POV's it sure does look CRAZY.
  13. Well i highly dobut I'll be going to SFDK at all this year plus I'll be going to SFMM the week after this event. So I will likely not be able to attend even if there is a mini-TPR event.
  14. About rides affected by weight distrubition. Me and my friend rode Tony Hawk Big Spin (Now just Big Spin I guess.) at SFDK. My friend gets the great idea to sit right now to me, when I assumed he knew physics more then me. I was like Mike, get the hell off this side you idiot then "CLICK!!!" the ride OP locked us in and said "Have Fun!!!" I proceeded to cuss my friend out all the way up the lift hill. we spun around 10+ times while waiting to come back into the station, we got dizzy as all hell. That said since the ways the cars on GL are. There should be at least a person on each side at any time. If the park wants to keep wait times low. Of course oneside could have two big guys and the other side could have a scrawny person like me. Thus making it "insane". Either way a new coaster is a new coaster.
  15. Isn't the point also proven that we "need' set days to celebrate something? I don't think people should let "fake" holidays dictate how they act and if they really feel that way they don't need to celebrate a specif thing only once a year. They might as well make mothers and fathers day a day within every month, two weeks or one week. That's pretty much what it should be if you actually got lucky enough to have good parents, biological or not. On Topic. Still no Green Lantern testing videos huh?
  16. Well I've still have not used my 4 VIP ticket package to SFMM yet. But the plans are now within the works. the original plan was for 1.Me 2. My Dad (55) 3. My friend 4.????? But now that my older brother lives in the bay area here in California. 1. Me 2. My older brother 3. My friend 4 A other friend or my dad. If neither of those my brother or friend can bring someone else. (Brother gets first shot at that.) Anyways the date I want is the first or second Saturday in august. Both days the park is open 10 am- 10 pm.
  17. About the whole bumbercar issue. I think some of the people on them are idiots. Though i've done head on collisions myself since I view they are the best, especially between friends. However, SFDK has a policy against it so I don't do it often. My friends idea of fun on them is keeping me stuck in a damn corner. GRRRRR
  18. I'd like to go to this even but I still haven't got a season pass yet. Anyways All Six Flag parks "Season Parking Passes are only valid" at the home park, right?
  19. I don't think there's anything wrong with Collusus's trains. Though I only been on it maybe 4 times, about twice per side. Anyways, with a plan to go to SFMM with 4 VIP tickets coming up in a few months. Does anyone have suggestions on how to spend the day or preferably have any experience with them?
  20. Finally SFDK get it's over well deserve topic/thread. Anyays being scared of highs i hope I got the courage to ride this. I'm sure I will once that day comes but still. 130-145 feet up (whatever it is) is HIGH. I know I've rode tatsu twice, X2 once, superman the escape once and riddlers revenge once. But all of those have pretty good secure systems rather then simple chains.
  21. Just because other events and places cost more money then Six Flags parks doesn't mean it's fair. However season pass prices are really low for what you get. But all of this money for season passes, food, gas prices and parking could really put a dent into theme parks. People can after all settle for movies and video games. Hell its what I do in the off season.
  22. I still have 4 VIP passes (State Farm VIP for a day sweepstakes.) to use at SFMM, or SFDK ( <---Yeah right LOL). I dont plan on using them until after all the coasters are open this year. So july or august. So farm im taking me, my dad (ride to socal) my friend and possibly/hopefully my older brother. All i know is that front of the line passes all day seem like a good deal. Then again for 249.99 a pop it's pretty expensive. Each ticket amounts to a season pass for 5 years. So far if I was coming to vist SFMM from Europe I would totally buy a VIP pass hands down. Of course if I was going to do that I would do a visit around West Coast Bash. Robb and Six Flags seemingly know how to have a really good time.
  23. It may be funny to people off this site buy like most parks the main draws are from general public who don't follow along in theme park news. I'd feel bad for anyone going down there expecting it to still be up.
  24. I rode Terminator at SF:MM on the very front with just me and my dad's girl friend. I was worried there wasn't going to be enough weight on the train for gravity to get the train back to the station. Not sure why I forgot that rides are designed to complete runs under just their own weight. <_>
  25. I only ever been on the one's at disneyland before they got updated in the late 1990's or early 2000's. Also the odd one's at what is now CGA that goes by/under The Grizzly. I like such rides and bumper cars since I have a fear of actual driving.
