Blindfolded on a roller coaster!
Fire2box replied to TheHalonSystem's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt they'll allow it simply because you'll need to blindfold her before you get to the ride. Same with while in line for the ride not to mention boarding. sounds mildly dangerous at best. -
Yeah, I saw that as well. I have no intentions of going, as I simply foresee longer waits. However, I'll definitely be there this Sunday. You as well? Yeah, i'm going Sunday unless anything major happens that prevents me from going. Sent you a PM. If you did I didn't get it, my newest PM in the inbox was from like 2012/2013.

If next weekend 28th-1st sees "normal" levels of riders and half of those people stay on for two rides in a row. To me that just seems like capacity per hour will likely be lower. I don't mind them doing this at all though and I think it's a cool idea just not one i'm to keen on going for with how far I live away from the park.

Was looking to see if SF:DK's website got updated meal/snack locations on their website and found this on upcoming events. "On Saturday and Sunday February 28 and March 1, we present Double Your Fun Weekend, where you can enjoy all the ride attractions at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom two times in a row for the first three hours of park operation. That means, when the park opens at 11 a.m., your rides DOUBLE until 2 p.m.! You won't want to miss out on the fun, double time!" I doubt I'll go two weeks in a row, it's only for 3 hours and other people will be doing it too once they find out. So cycles will take twice as long. Would be good for Roar and Superman though.

#BanSelfieSticks - Help Us Spread The Word!

The "No, you're not." part is pretty spot on. -
However one would at least expect the product to be designed here. The factory should care because their customer (in theory) would care. I assume the factory's do care and I bet it was six flags that gave them or at least approved final design which is kinda sad I guess. But at the end of the day it's plastic.

Looks like CNN is going after zoos now.
Fire2box replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found super size me to be kinda lame too but it's what launched his career and he/they edited it pretty well. The greatest movie ever sold is more interesting and I've liked most of his episodes before. I've only watched the first two parts of this zoo episode of Inside Man and well its not making zoo's look good but I still got around 35-40 mins to watch. Morgan likely knows CNN or even himself are trying to make things look worse then they really are, but I don't think he's taking this episode too seriously as he did like in the hospital in bangkok from last week's. While I don't agree with Morgan Suprlock on somethings, I really do like his style of filming and editing. That all said Blackfish is easily worse then this episode thus far. ::update:: Just watched the rest of the episode in question and the later half of it focused on a place with what looked like to be less standards then the Detroit zoo though after a few mins the guy who owns and runs the place seems plenty capable of taking care of animals. The end of the episode took place at a animal sanctuary where elephants had plenty of open arces in california to do whatever they want in a place then general public can't visit. It does seem like Morgan suggests to viewers that keeping animals captivity and breeding them just to keep them captive is a bad thing and i'm not 100% certain he fully believes that himself either. Also about the whole zoo thing in general, there;s certainly worse places then seaworld and other places in the middle ground. It's not a 100% black and white issue and that's what people who champion Blackfish fail to see or admit to. Watching blackfish and this episode will not even make a person close to a expert on the matter and at the end of the day all CNN is caring about is ratings, not about the animals featured in Blackfish or this episode of Inside Man. -
Considering that Superman was listed as closed last weekend, I'd say they updated it. This is very good news. Hopefully that storm predicted for this weekend ends up going easy on us... I don't like its coming over the weekend but we (California) still need a lot of rain and a lot more snow in the mountains. Then again, I suppose rain more towards the east of the bay area would be better, otherwise most I think will simply go right back into the ocean.

What do you think of Fast Passes?

Six Flags ride ops never do anything regardless. Not from any of my experiences at the parks. -

Watch, just one person will need to take a selfie stick on Twisted Colossus and then they'll only run one train at a time. -
Sorry for the double post, browser glitched out or slowed to a crawl.

I wish there was a seatbelt standard on amusement park rides. Like I think V2, Roar and superman all have diffrent types of seatbelt releases and they are all right next to each other at SK: Discovery Kingdom

One time at six flags:DK in late Nov 2014 or so, the guy I was sitting next to was going to turn on his gopro and had a chest harness for it. I think he would of got away with it if I didn't accidentally draw the ride OP's attention to it. (This was on superman: Ultimate Flight)
