  1. If that's the case. I wonder if they'll still have one of their fright paths there this year. In the 2014 season they had one behind V2 in the monsoon falls backstage area. It was also one of wristband paths if I recall right. However it was the worst out of all of them.
  2. I don't doubt they are good. However as said quite a few times Roar is the only major coaster at the park without a inversion. I'll more then likely be happy with whatever RMC does with it. Provided CGA isn't like "Psych! Grizzly RMC'ed, get lost SF fans!" and SF just replaces Roar with a SCAD or some sort of up charge ride. I just want airtime and Wallruns.
  3. I fully support the idea of Roar not getting any inversions because SF:DK has enough. In a average day at SF:DK you could spend literal mins being upside down if you add up the time throughout the day. More so if you go on hammerhead, dare devil and Tasmanian devil. But, if six flags does let them put in inverison asks for some. then in 2017 we should expect the ark ride to get OTSR's and powerful engines to flip that thing upside down.
  4. It doesn't seem nearly as good as the most recent rmc's. Also with apparently 22 crossovers or whatever SF:DK touted on their facebook page recently, I suspect that will have something big to do with it. The video also makes the ride structure look a lot smaller then it currently is. Plus I can't see them keeping the raised platform loading bay. Just because I figure they want to remove the wheelcahir handicap access elevator.
  5. Well it still has a week of operation left. However next sunday is the last day of concurrent operating days so RMC has from monday to friday to do whatever they want to get done. I open by end of November they tear out the platforms and the new loading platform is on ground level.
  6. I went yesterday (Thursday). My trip started rocky given Roar was only running 1 train with the second on the loading bay dock. After that I go to guest relations and ask if the second train will be put on today. Come back around to roar at around 2-3 pm and find out it's finally running 2 trains though they are still stacking the trains. Though, the ride OP's were doing a decent job so I'd blame guest's just being a tad slow on that. Plan on going back on the 16th, mentally perparing for long lines, bad ride operations, people complaining "Just because they got season pass they get 1 hour ERT!?", etc. Also it kinda sucks when the snack's are better quality then food is from the meal pass. totally not buying into it next year. Even if it has been a little decent value wise for me. the food server's generally suck but I assume it's their first food service job ever and possibly their first job ever.
  7. Planning to go this week and then the 16th. not sure what I'll do when Roar closes as I always go on it at least once while I'm there. Maybe i'll just ride V2 again, since I haven't done that at all on my 2015 pass. I mean, again consider the source, I'm a crazy fan of Kong, but in my opinion they're just right. Others certainly have varying opinions I would love it if some day there were a Kong marathon competition..I'd win for sure. We'd plan your funeral for the following week I guess.
  8. I want to see CGA compete with SF:DK, but cedar fair isn't going to do that. SF:DK is well verses in every thing even when some of it's animal attractions are bad compared to what they were once. Shark experience just looks extremely run down inside, they closed the extra pool they added outside of it. The new sea lion show isn't nearly as fun as the pirate themed one and the high dive show replacing bird theater is kinda a mess and it looks like it's hosted in a random persons back yard. They also removed the african elephants, have long got rid of the boat show and the 3d action theater is apparently storage for whatever they are holding in that auditorium. Yet with all of this CGA's only saving grace is their water park in the park and Gold Striker. I was kinda shocked when they revealed that too, I figured they would only add new coasters that could easily be shipped off to another park or sold to SF:DK. I'm still worried that in 10 years CGA will be gone and will be additional parking for Levi stadium. likely made into a massive parking garage. Plus Cedar Fair is likely more concerned with Knots Berry Farm as it has direct competition with at least 2 parks, 3 if they count magic mountain as " local" competition. I don't know the attendeance numbers of both parks, but im betting SF:DK's is higher and will be even more if RMC does get contracted on Roar.
  9. I never seen them do ERT for gold passes yet. the best so far is getting into the main entrance of the park and being able to shop at the 4-5 stores, use the restroom, etc before the "rope drop" where you're granted access to the real areas and rides. I feel SF:DK's main website isn't that good at giving out information of upcoming 3rd party events. I really wish they would put up a big, red warning sign on their site the week before the cheer competitions they host. Those days I am pretty mad that they don't have *ANY* single rider lines for anything.
  10. yeah I thought tsunami soaker was going to be a joke of a ride, then I finally actully went on it and it was fun. Best way to be drenched at SFDK, even more so then standing on the bridge of moonsoon falls.
  11. Went to the park Tuesday ( july 21st) and brought along 3 friends for BAFF Tuesday. we did bumper cars three, roar 3 times, sky scream and medusa. Saw the ferret's I think the white one is perhaps the other ones mom? the sloth was very active and the grey/black woff Wyatt was up and about with taala the artic wolf in the corner in shade sleeping. on my 3rd ride of Roar I bumped my hand or forearm into the left arm of my eyeglasses and they fell off going right up the incline into the brake run. Right after I go to guest services to file a a report and describe it as best I could. the glasses likely didn't survive the fall and it was 100% my fault and i'm just glad no one got hit by them. My friend asked if they landed on the tracks despite being in the front row with me. I'm like "are you freaking joking? There's like 11 car's behind us. it ain't on the tracks." that said those glasses have been with me since at least early 2012 and it's been time to get my eyes checked as well as a new prescription. 8/10 on stupidity level, wouldn't recommend.
  12. Are they? I doubt it. Most of the gp will flock to the park to ride the "new" ride.... they don't care otherwise. i'm referring to the people freaking out over the closure of the ride currently, not knowing it's more then likely going to be RMC'ed. I guess most people only believe what they hear from the park.
  13. They shut down roar, for this?: The Ride Ya know, for the general public who aren't in the rumor loop on social media and are asking " why?" or bashing the idea.
  14. Goliath is no longer the best rollercoaster on the right side of the park, yay. 15 year run, wasn't it?
  15. Only if dinosphere comes back. The water splash down on that 3d motion ride totally got me as a kid. (might of been Dino island 2 after googling it and boy that cgi animation is rough.)
  16. I 100% agree and if the last day is anything but a Saturday i'll try to be there for it too. I doubt they'll do it, but a offical marathon of roar is something i'd get behind and apply for.
  17. I mainly want to see some extreme banking turns like Outlaw run has. Something like TC's high five element but with a actual turn in it. And yeah hopefully six flags moves the current trains to Roar (East) they are my favorite seats at SFDK.
  18. I really, really, really want to go to SFMM portion. Going to try my best to get down there.
  19. Went yesterday (june 30th) as it was going to be like 105 here in the valley. Got two rides in on Roar front and back. Saw all of the animal enclousers for a moment and they didn't do that much for the wolves which sucks. Got on White water safari as soon as it opened for the day and re-rode it a second time for a 5 min wait. By the time I got off the 2nd ride of it the line was already about 10-15 mins long. Rode tsunami soaker too many times to count but it was around 6-8 rides. Checked out the new high dive show (bird theater is now 100% gone, replaced by two diving boards and a small radio mast with perches for divers) and me and my dad left likely what felt like 60% trough. I managed to find one of the animal trainers near the rear of the park and asked about the bird show. She said that they will be shown in the wildlife theater show but the birds aren't ready yet but might if not should be by august.
  20. Well i'm finally going to the park for the first time in June this year, will be there tomorrow. Going to try get at least two rides on Roar if not more in case the rumors are true. It sucks because it does only flip once and everything else it's swinging like it will flip but never does. Just kinda sucks and makes it feel like they want it to be a Vakoma experience. But don't worry guys, think someones made a viable replacement.
  21. Don't be. They run it as lame as possible, you usually only get 1 flip. I think the reason it's always closed is because people know it's boring and no one rides it. I only find it open on really busy days now. It's always ran about 80% of the times I've been there on my 2015 pass. However it's a pretty terrible ride. Also you need to put your glasses in a cubby (if it has one) or in a sturdy case in your pocket or it (hydralic OTSR's) will bend your frames. even my titanium frames were easily bent. Though I also bent them back enough by hand so meh.
  22. I still like my idea however stupid and insane it may be. Remove Viper and build a *big* coaster in it's space, up and over the water rapids ride and take up deja Vu's old space, Then come back over the rapids ride to complete it's loop. Though maybe it would be better to start it's line where daja vu was just to get it put of Tatsu/X2's area.
  23. Roar and a RMC coaster are two entirely diffrent beasts in my mind. If RMC does re-model roar into their own verison of it I just hope they don't install a inversion anywhere on the ride. as any other coaster taller then like 40 feet at the park has a inversion. 3 of the flat rides have inversions as well, 4 if we want to count dare devil in that list. Park doesn't need anymore inversions.
  24. Can't even see that happening. Least for 7 years or more.
  25. Heh, I didn't notice that. One of the few good things about the movie IMHO.
