  1. given how much flak the ride gets, i doubt roar's trains will be much better on it.
  2. I know this may be too soon, but don't go into a restricted ride area to get them back (By the way I also know you got them back but I couldn't resist the opportunity lol ) Having been on Tatsu a few times, i don't think anyone shoudr stand remotely near the bottom of that pretzel loop.
  3. Did he say anything about theming/new name? It's less then 10 days away until we find out from six flags themselves on sep 3rd. However with Roar's history " named after the roar of a mighty sea lion" I'm betting it might be themed to that. After all, Tsunami Soaker is right on the outskirts of the structure.
  4. ERT after the park closes this Sunday if you're willing to buy a Churro at the park https://www.sixflags.com/national/churro-ride-time-event
  5. This Sunday august 30th if you buy a churro you get ERT after the park closes to the public. Seems like it it applies at most of the parks too. Also the season meal pass, you can get a churro off it at outpost cafe in the center of the park. So, guess i know what my snack is. https://www.sixflags.com/national/churro-ride-time-event "Not valid at The Great Escape, La Ronde or Six Flags Mexico."
  6. Huge doesn't mean tall and like the poster below you said, that's the announcement for the whole SF chain. What would really be nice is if all the parks not getting a coaster, get's
  7. Check out the terms of service/rules that are posted at the top of the board please. 9. Spelling and Grammar - bad spelling and grammar will NOT be tolerated! Theme Park Review's forum includes a spell checker and there is a great one available with Google's Toolbar. If we have to edit too many of your posts, you may be suspended from the forum. Text Message shorthand or "l77t" speak is not allowed. A typo here and there is acceptable, but illegible posts are not. You're posts have been nothing but walls of text and you only do yourself a disservice when posting like that, because everyone in the world hates walls of text that have no attempt at spacing in them. Even I suck at spelling and grammar honestly but saying you don't care about how you write and how you come off across while doing so just proves that no one should really bother viewing your postings. All of this said, I'm not going to bother anymore either. If you want to see my lack of replying directly to you as a victory, go for it. Meanwhile I'll likely be going back to the park soon and I am once again glad the ride op's of roar let the last public train do 3 laps around roar before it "closed for good". I'll be sure to bring my camera if anything major has been done and can get a good viewing angle on it.
  8. To add to this I will say the same thing I said in the Dollywood thread. It is not needed, not necessary, and I assure you most people probably would not even care. RMC Coasters are all about the elements, and the airtime... Not a "gimmick" like floorless coaster trains. Well ill add this, that was just an idea, and most of all just an opinion. Even though i recognize this is just your opinion, and it doesen't matter if "most people don't care" its simply just another kind of ride experience which catches attention, right? If its not "needed, not neccesary" (that sounds totally stupid btw) than im sure its the case for every ride, correct? Than that would mean the B&M wing coaster was not needed and not neccesary, wouldnt it? People don't design different styles of coasters cause it is "needed and neccesary" its done because its a different ride experience. Who the hell are you to say its "not needed and necessary" in the first place? What gave you that idea? The same designer of RMC designed the 4D coaster(was it not neccesary?) The word "gimmick" is so dumb please stop. Floorless trains arent a "gimmick" its a coaster with a different ride experience which gives you the sensation of having the track under you. Just people say the stand up was a "gimmick" not just a coaster designed for the sensation of standing on a coaster lmao. Im sure if the idea of floorless trains sounds good in Alan Schilke's head and he wants to add them onto a coaster "only meant for elements and airtime" to make a whole nother ride experience im sure the words"needed and necessary" arent going to stop him. Just like if B&M wanted to add winged cars onto a coaster made for "only inversions and smoothness" to add a flying sensation they... OH WAIT!! The person didn't say gimmicks aren't nice, but they are right in saying it's not necessary either. Looking up the definition of the word "gimmick" with google it says "a trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business." Well floorless coasters are a type of device with the drop away floors and what not. You said you realized this is just the person's opinion, but from my point of view you just wanted to lambaste the person under the guise of defending various types of coasters that have come before. It's not like Alan from RMC is going to come on TPR, read one post and decide " oh poo-poo. One person on the internet doesn't like the idea we at RMC had, better not do it now." Ok. Welll ummmm. So a floorless coaster fits under the definition of "gimmick" you found because it has mechanical floors? That was used to draw publicity? Have you ever thought it was just used so people could step over the track safely so the new ride experience would work? And what does TPR have to do with this? You think he has to read a forum to come up with a floorless train? How is that relevant? Nothing "isn't neccesary" people come up with ideas and do it if they like it. This guy literally is so against something that is just an idea that he felt the need to go against it on two threads. Just because something isn't probable doesen't mean its not possible. Just because you can't imagine it happening doesen't mean it won't. If that's all your taking from my comment or his and deciding to get hostile over it, you're totally missing the point. PS *Necessary* and *Doesn't*. Chrome and firefox have built in spellchecks on Desktop and smartphones should naturally have them built in now.

  10. So while we wait for the week of September 3rd. Does anyone have any thoughts about the animal attractions? this year saw the removal of the African Elephants and the Shark Experience seems as lack luster as ever, massive one piece tank and there's barely anything in it. Back in the 90's I think they used to play relaxing, oceanic themed music and for most of my visit's this season the moving pathway trough the shark tube wasn't moving. Meanwhile, nothing's done with that new tank they put in the early 00's they built behind it, not that they really kept the glass clean on that. I am complaining about stuff that maybe general guests don't really care all too much about and change is good of course. I'm just wondering if it's just all a slow push to where at some point they only have tigers, dolphins, seals, sea lions and walrus and the African penguins be their only animals. If I ran the park, I think I'd take out the shark experience or revamp it a lot to be a lot more educational then what it currently is. then after that's done likely send the lions someplace else and close their den/cage down. As a guest, it's sometmes really hard to view the lions even while their out. plus that back area still seems rather forgotten about by anyone other then handlers and maintenance. Which is why I think it's the perfect place to go chill out, get away from the crowds and eat. also: I'll likely be bringing my still camera along in my next visit's to get photo's of roar's progress. Really wish SF:DK social media stuff would step up their game such as showing pictures or videos of the revamped wildlife show. Even their high dive show isn't advertised on anything but those TV commercials on local stations.
  11. I don't think motorcycle thieves hang out at SFMM. I forgot if they have motorcycle parking though and it would likely be safer there if they do.
  12. From what I recall they had a CGI POV of TC when they unveiled the plans/name for it. So I'm thinking on September 3rd, when six flags unveils plans for all their 2016 stuff we'll see a CGI POV video.
  13. I think that crane was there last sunday when the final day was going on. I just couldn't read the text either way this is cool. Hope they upload a video showing the car's being taken off and confirm they are going to the other Roar.
  14. doesn't that ride have trim brakes on the drop now? Sadly I haven't even been within 1,000 miles of the coaster but from what I recall they wanted to slow it down more so people wouldn't grey-out. Kinda like how SFMM makes Goliath pretty much do a full stop before the helix.
  15. Replacing a GCI with an RMC feels like it is an addition to me even though the # of coasters technically didn't go up. As much as I personally love ZacSpins, I don't think you'll see another one any time soon, especially with the S&S FreeSpin model available as a much more universally enjoyed (And I'm guessing probably cheaper) version of that kind of layout. Right i forgot about the S&S freespin. Would totally go with that more.
  16. Pretty sure all of RMC feels the same way. I've always wondered what a B&M with the exact same SLC layout would be since the layout itself seems good if the comfort wasn't an issue. As for Mighty Iron Roar or whatever they name it, I'm excited the park is finally getting a top notch coaster. Superman and Medusa are two great coasters and this should round out their collection quite nicely. It's a bummer to see Roar go (I really enjoyed it), but this is better. Yeah, it's hard to complain about getting an RMC, I just wish we were adding more coasters instead of replacing. Or, you know, taking out Kong since I refuse to ride it anymore right now I think the best and maybe cheapest (I don't know) idea would be to: 2017 take out boomerang, put in Zacspin. Name it/theme it to joker.
  17. I went to the park today for roar's final day of operation, least for general public. I rode 2 times in ERT and once around 5:25 pm then got in "line" to be the last in line. along with at least a few other enthusiats and people who just wanted to be last public riders. On our train we all spread out to fill the train as much as we could. I sacrificed myself to the middle since I only really did front and back all season long. We get into the bay station and the whole train is chanting "one more time, one more time, one more time" So the ride ops and staff are kind enough to let us go again. We get back to the bay station again chant is now " thank you six flags clap clap clap-clap-clap" even while we pull into the station after the "orginal" ride ops from 1999 are climbing the lift hill. Ride op "okay guys, do you truly want to be the last people to ride Roar?" the train erupts with excitement. screaming, hollering, cheering, etc. So they send us though for a 3rd time but only if we chant " roar roar roar roar roar" which of course most if not all of us do. I figure we aren't likely the last train of passenger('s) to ride roar but it was a immensely nice touch on their part. Also, i was there two thursdasys ago and there's twice as much new wood near the matience bay as there was then. Pretty much finally confirms RMC to me. also there was a DJ booth with trivia about roar, answers were everything SF:DK's facebook page has been posting about "Roar lore". won a farewell to roar shirt and a piece of roar. it's a small wooden block. PS: a single guy was wearing "save roar" airbrushed homemade shirt. Protester rider, party of 1. He was not in the "final train". ride count: medusa three. 2 front, 1 back. roar six 1 front, 2 back 3 middle.
  18. Theres a broken water main near the hospital and water treatment plant that are behind SF:DK (on the other side of the lake.) News report is saying "A broken water main in Vallejo left residents west of Interstate Highway 80 with little or no water pressure, according to Vallejo city officials.Officials estimated that full service would be restored by 4 a.m. Sunday." As well as "The officials said tap water in the city is safe to drink, but they are asking residents to avoid using water in the affected area until the break is repaired." The main broke on friday though and six flags never said anything. so maybe Six flags is on a different water main line. link to CBS 13's news article on it.
  19. I think I heard one other person is going to the park tomorrow (final day of roar operation for public). Anyone else? I'll be going. Will be wearing a Charcoal gray shirt with purple Vans logo.
  20. Suspicion confirmed. He's totally at fault. But I still think the park needs to have better instruction on what to do if you lose something on a ride. ugh, much like other things keep it in your pants. If people crave their own POV's so much they don't have to, other people make better POV's even parks are doing their own now.
  21. Did they make all the riders get off the train or were just explaining the delay in operation?
  22. Even in the case of the gates it was the park guest at fault. If I remember correctly, they were trying to squeeze through the gate after it had already started closing. Last time I was at SF:DK I tried to get open of the ride OP's attention on medusa since I was a single rider and there was one spot open on a train in my row. The other guest's in front of me realized this and let me trough but the gate was already closing. And I was not about to risk getting caught between it and the railing. You don't mess with hydraulic systems and you sure as hell don't go into a active ride area.
  23. I'm expecting it to be crazier then Cyclone since Roar has many crossover areas, 22 according to SF:DK's facebook page. but I assume that counts that pre-lift hill stuff.
