  1. Coming from the east on I-80 was ultra foggy over the hill/mountain at like 1:00 pm. Me and my friend managed to see all the animals we wanted, rode medusa twice, roar twice, kong once in Row 2, keeping your head tucked into the turns helped a bit but still a bad ride. We did sky screamer once and we soaked a few people on the bridge exit of monsoon falls with cannon 3. Really light crowds, Medusa was a walk on on our second ride and we got 3 rounds of bumper cars in before they closed.
  2. Yep, I think it's only ran one train whenever I went up to the line to take a peak. Didn't the entrance use to be right up along the wheelchair ramp to get up the hill/to the 3D action theater.
  3. Ben and Jerry's was pretty good at SFMM last time I went. Everything else even (now replaced) moose burger lodge was mediocre IMHO. Thankfully it was all covered by the VIP package I won. It's so not worth the cost unless you got money to burn and don't live remotely close.
  4. going to guest relations and them just flat out not knowing anything, like when asking "Fright Fest is over, but the bumper cars still have the temp walls up from it's haunted house. Will they re-open next weekend?"
  5. Yeah with Superman down apparently Roar, V2 and Medusa are the only good ones. But I still haven't ridden Kong while visiting that park like 8 times already on my 2015 pass. I have gone up to it twice but never enjoined the look of the line.
  6. Why don't we just bring our own. Then when we see others being stupid with theirs we engage them in a "lightsaber duel." destroying them both, getting park sercuirty to notice and ban them. (joking, but still these types of people suck.)
  7. Please share your secret. All of my Kong rides have been nothing but pain and regret. I'd love to know too. The rattle of my brain isn't bad but my ears hurt like I had overly tight headphones on for like 4 hours from my head slamming into the OTSR's. Also I'll wear my Oakland A's shirt, pretty sure me and my friend will be the only one's in them at the park. Have been the only one to wear oakland A's shirt's after the A's season died after the wildcard in Kanas City, from what I've seen. My plans are to check out the animals first, go see the depressing fish/shark exhibit (looks much more run down then from 2010) hit roar, bumper cars, then medusa and kong.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. I might be going Sunday so I'll probably just check out the animal sides of the park and maybe finally ride kong.
  9. This. Also the first 2015 perk rewards are up (for SF:DK at least) i'm trying to make plans for a friend to tag along with me on feb 1st, since most people will be at home/parties watching what's going to be a meh super bowl with another forgettable half time show that lasts all too long.
  10. Sounds like Apocalypse will be fine for me. Roar is a bit rough but I don't think its as rough as The Grizzly at CGA from like 2004-2007, though I haven't been on that either after Cedar Fair re-tracked it or whatever happened with it. Also I still think Falling Skies would of been a nice re-theme for the coaster, I mean that shows still on right?
  11. Right, but even that has it's flaws. For example, RCDB does not list Olympia Looping or Alpina Bahn and I'm pretty sure this should count as a roller coaster. I don't follow anyone else's list but my own. I also stopped counting in 2012 which makes things even easier now. I just ride stuff for fun and not worry if it's a credit or not! Has anyone been known to survive that? Looks like the closet thing to that euthanasia roller coaster design.
  12. They aren't for me. Might not be up until march I think, because a lot of SF parks are closed for the winter season. First time I've had season passes since the perk system existed. I miss the rewards you get for coming, it was some beta program in like 2010. like a free soda, a one time use front of the line pass, etc. it rewarded you for coming back and using your pass.
  13. Whenever there are updates to it someone will surely post about it within 4 or 6 hours on here, maximum. You can also visit rocky mountain constructions social media accounts or watch that "our mountain" facebok page. Betwen TPR, RMC and that page there's no way you'll ever miss a major update about TC.
  14. I assume lighter then New Years Eve since the park is opened till midnight and will apparently have fire works. I never been to the park (or any) on new years day but I think it shouldn't be too bad.
  15. Ride count: Superman 3 times Roar twice Medusa once Bumper cars, at least 7. (it's been a long time for me.... don't look at me like that!) Also every time I went to a ride, it was a 10 min wait or less for front seats, even less for middle rows. Just wasn't feeling like marathon-ing coasters.
  16. I plan on going back on monday, which is another BAFF day. Just want to ger more rides on medusa, roar maybe superman and of course finally the bumper cars. Still haven't done V2 nor Kong, like I'd want to
  17. I skipped going yesterday since they were host some Spanish event with two radio stations, figured it would be packed more then a normal sunday. I'll likely go next Monday or Tuesday.
  18. Goliath at Magic Mountain did once, but not in the helix. It happened on the 2nd drop after the tall U-Turn.
  19. Excellent. Surprised they were able to do backflips like that.
  20. Days where there's cheerleading/dance competition at SF:DK means the park will be jammed packed and lines that are normally 20 mins long in the "off-season" become 40 mins long at the shortest. Because families will only watch when their kid is doing something and siblings will be bored and go do the rides. Meanwhile the groups of performers will stand off to the side doing some final practice stuff. If its anything like these events at SFDK, expect very, very heavy crowds. I went once recently (I think during Fright Fest) when there was a cheer competition and the park wasn't too crowded. I can't remember exactly when it was, though, but it was a Sunday. I think I was there that same day. It wasn't so horrible I wanted to throw myself off the top of medua's lift hill, but the parking lot became filled that they had to open the parking lot of the fairgrounds. Personally i'd avoid such days but SFDK doesn't give updates on these sort of events.

  22. like 15-16 topgun/flight deck at CGA. Rode Demon before that but it was rough and likely would of made me not want to ride others.
  23. I knew that I was just disappointed they were setting it up on the first weekend of September and took a few weeks to revert it as well. The horror walk-trough was pretty good at least.
  24. Thanks for reporting on the bumper cars being open or not. They never were for me this year when I processed my 2015 pass in early September, were closed weeks before and after fright fest.
