Rides You Can't Ride?
Fire2box replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't ride anything like the " disney teacups" I could I just kinda prefer not to. Though, I would ride that mater's thing in cars land it doesn't seem too terribly motion sickness inducing. -
Late march 2015 if that it seems. I don't get why they aren't doing weekends all year like SFDK is though. Maybe they are reluctant to do so since the 49er's home schedule take up some of the Sunday's that would be used? Just my speculation. That never stopped them from closing the park for such games before.

Went to the park here on November 2nd, last day if Fright Fest. the park wasn't nearly as packed as it was 2 weeks ago where they halfway if not more filled up the overflow fairgrounds parking lot. Ride counts: Cobra twice each with ride op sending the train trough twice in a row (guess that's normal now.) Medusa twice (front, back) Roar twice. Superman twice (on the second ride, the random guy I rode with in the front had a go pro chest harness on but he was waiting until the last moment to attach the camera to it. Personally if someone's going trough that effort I don't care and my asking about it made the ride op's finally notice it. There's enough POV of Superman anyways. But I can certainly understand why the guy would want his own POV.) Sky Screamer once The looney tunes kiddie coaster because I don't think I ever went on it, so credit. Anyways, most of the food vendors were selling 2015 cups and I never saw people with day of purchase wristbands. So, free refills for everybody for 2015 I guess. Also, I found out I can refill my 2015 cup at the freestyle machine near the main gates and they have ginger ale in it.

Today's Burning Question!
Fire2box replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Never been to either, but I'd pick Disney World. The immersion at Disneyland is pretty good, I'd expect a lot better at Disney World due to how it was designed. -
I don't understand how expecting someone old enough to go around (mostly) unsupervised in a theme park to abide by the posted rules (as well as behaving like a decent human being) is "picking on" them. It's not. SMH I agree that following rules is expected amongst parkgoers of every age. The appropriate way, IMO, to handle things like that would be to simply say "hey guys, youre not supposed to skip the line" or "you cant hold places in line" or whatever. Not be a bully who's significantly older than a fee Boys and Girls Club kids and make a scene loud enough to be overheard by an employee. Theres always a right or wrong way to enforce the rules and this was a pretty pathetic way to go about doing so if you ask me. But hey, if calling kids out is your thing, Im not going to stop you. I never layed a hand or finger on any of them. I just audibly called them out on it. I don't see how that's picking/bullying on them and I never used foul language.

We were given a slip last Saturday morning for YOLO. We also had slips for some of the mazes last Friday night. I appreciate them trying to limit the line cutting. I appreciate them too, but only if they're actually enforced. Speaking of line cutting. The people in front of me on Tatsu just let three people who weren't in line join them. This is so irritating. I'm pretty much always calling them out on it these days, even if nothing will be done about it. The last time anything happened was back in the 2010 season at SFDK some Boys and Girls Club kids had 1-2 stand in line and about 4 came in and slipped under the railings of Medusa. So I called them out over it loudly and I guess their staff member heard me and so she ended up taking them all out of the line and to the very back after I explained what happened.

The CGI POV video's aren't likely 100% accurate simulations of anything but the rides heights and elements. Maybe it could run 4 trains but I think people have said SFMM wants one extra train so one can always be continuously maintained/repaired. right now I'm more concerned about the general public being the lacking thing on ride dispatches. Almost every time I go to a park someone tries to leave a backpack at the station then tries to get on with said backpack or vice versa. Though I'm sure they'll have a rider check person stationed at the rides entrance.

I don't care if the ride op's ride. But when they do it just to make sure Green Lantern doesn't spin anymore that's where theres a issue. I know SFMM ordered the ride op's to counter-balence the cars so it doesn't spin about 20 seconds after it opened or so. But I still think it's bullshit to operate a ZacSpin so that it doesn't well, spin. It might be a decent pelvic bone buster, but I don't think thats worth the wait.

They are moving the season pass processing to the turn stiles itself since they are doing the finger print method now. If you are concerned about it, I would just print the things again and keep them in your wallet to prove they are gold passes. My issues with passes this year was they forgot to scan my dining pass so my first and second visit didn't have it show up. But the season pass and free upgrades were all printed onto a single paper.

What park have you been to the most?
Fire2box replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, I've had at least 4 season passes there going at least 7 times per pass and I got my 2015 gold/food pass in early September and already been 5 times. Might go up to 4 times during holiday in the park and then a lot more in 2015. -
thankfully not. Though last sunday at SFDK I was able to lift roar's lapbar a inch off my waist/thighs. The first ride I still had my hands up on the first drop but had my butt and feet firmly planted. After the drop I soon realized it would be 100% fine and it was. When I was a noob and just starting steelcoasters at 15-16ish I almost cried in medusa's station thinking my harness was going to pop-open.

I need batman, viper, rev, yolo credits. I could of got the older coasters on my last trip but after Scream I wasn't feeling that good, Plus given how rough I hear viper, Rev are, I'm not sure i'd ever like em. So I assume when TC opens I'll go to it first and then do the counter-clockwise route and end up finishing with Full Throttle. (Oh wow, word filtered.)

Had one while waiting for the Awakening show on my last visit. They are good for the price, but nothing to write home about. Might have been better if it were eaem (which it wasn't). I was intrigued by the hot chocolate with Halloween Peeps for marshmallows, but it was a bit warm to try that day. Same as well. Hot chocolate + granulated sugar that might be flavored could be pretty good or possibly bad. I find it weird that SFDK doesn't get as cold as say O.co (A's and Raiders stadium at around 7-10 pm. I guess the "marine layer" doesn't affect Vallejo too much.

I have the 2015 season meal pass and it's got a variety of things offered on it. However its still a slight dissapointment in at least one regard. biggest example: Sky High Fries near Medusa I can get Carna Asda Fries which are listed at 6.99 or 7.99 on the menu. But both Bacon Cheddar fries and Garlic Fries are 1 dollar cheaper on the menu, however it's not on the season meal menu. Last night however there was no line for the place at around 6:50 pm so I asked the guy if it was possible to substitute it with garlic fries order and he granted it. they were pretty good, better the SFMM's when I did a VIP thing there. Also cinnamon rolls are like 2.99 or 3.99 at the cafe to the right of guest relations/flash pass thing. I'll probably try one during holiday in the park if they still have em then, they looked pretty damn good. i like Cyber Cafe at SFMM more though, that place is pretty chill.

I get the guy wan'ts to wear glasses on the ride to probably actually see and not have shit be blurry for him, but in that case just get contacts. I know i'd rather be "blind" on a ride then have my glasses fall off or shove contacts atop of my eyes so I just pocket my glasses about 2-3 mins before my boarding.

You're talking about people who anthropomorphize chickens and think its their right to go into restaurants to tell people they're all murderers. I'm always getting the chicken strip meal for lunch at SFDK. also funny they protest the animals being cared for but not the chicken, fish, beef, turkey, etc products they sell.

I've liked it, the hypnotist at bird theater they have isn't that great at showmanship but his stuff is funny sometimes. I also went up 3 times, once per visit so far. He let's anyone come down until the chairs are filled and only asks that you be 16+ and give him your attention and do the best you can do. It's really just him getting you to relax enough to make a idiot of yourself. Haven't been to the park since 2010-2011 so can't compare to last year. I think the "mazes" are good and worth paying the 15 dollars for (if you got a season pass). However I did most of them alone or got group into a random party. Best one/most memorable is the one inside the bumper car's ride area. The Boat house one is also really nice.
