  1. K&M: Thank you! And yeah, I agree about the colors.... ----- 1987 Taking advantage of Virginia's beautiful landscape, Adventure Springs' new section boats two new attractions on the other side of a fantastically themed bridge overlooking the Virginia canopy. Standing at 330 feet tall, "Spring Cabin" is a rotating observation tower that gives guests the view of a lifetime. On a clear day, Mount Vernon is visible from the top of this massive structure, new for the 1987 season. Also new is our "Tilt-A-Whirl", great fun for the whole family. Both attractions are due to open when Adventure Springs opens for the 1987 season on April 10th. Word has it that 1988 will bring Adventure Spring's next revolutionary thrill ride...roller coaster or flat, who knows....do you have any guesses? Adventure Springs is located off of Route 1, just 5 miles outside of Mount Vernon in Fort Belvoir. Joint tickets between Mount Vernon and Adventure Springs are available, season pass to Adventure Springs does not include unlimited visits to Mount Vernon. ----- What do you guys think? -Braztaz
  2. Wow...sometimes I wish they hadn't drained the lake and found somewhere else to put a waterpark. It looks so nice!
  3. I love it, but I think that color scheme "sticks" out of the landscape too much. Maybe a shade of green or dark yellow?
  4. That's why I love when I end up loving a coaster that I hear bad things about. Mantis is a good example, even though it hurt my legs I thought it was really fun and intense!
  5. I've only been on two; Power Tower at Cedar Point and Drop Tower at Kings Dominion. Out of the two, I'd pick Drop Tower by far.
  6. Dotro: While I see what you mean about the balance, keep in mind this is a timeline park which means you never know what could pop up in that area. Plus, there only needs to be one side-building for storage, or whatever theme parks do. (In this case, Busch Gardens Williamsburg). Right now it's a bunch of hills and trees on the right, so I think it seems balanced and full, in my eyes. @Mcjaco: Thank you! @CC9: -Braztaz
  7. Nice Photo TR, I'm glad you had a great time.
  8. I don't know why, but something that's always interested me were amusement park's skylines, how they look from the highway, parking lot, or seeing the rides poking out far in the distance from the buildings and treetops. Even road signs, or billboards advertising the park. I might even go as far to say that I find it as interesting as the actual park itself! Am I the only one? I'd love to see what pictures you all have of park's from the outside, because I've wanted to see some for a long time (At least, in one place). The only pictures I have are Busch Gardens, because I'm usually too exited to even think about getting my camera out!
  9. 1986 Ahh....after a long off-season, it's great to take the exit ramp off of Route 1 after seeing this sign! While the only "ride" drivers can see from the highway is Yorktown Siege just barely cresting over the treetops in the distance, I'm sure it won't stay that way for long. When the line just to get in the parking lot is long, it's unbearable! New for the park this year is the "Ruthless Rapids" water ride. Although not located in the waterpark area, it'll still get you soaked! Great for the whole family and cooling off on those hot summer days. Yorktown Siege now operates with a two-train maximum, with red and orange still running smoothly. The yellow train sits in a storage thread. But it's still a wild ride! -Braztaz
  10. Great photos. How visible is WindSeeker as your driving up to the park?
  11. Just got from the park, and in person, the tower isn't as ugly than in the pictures. And it definitely isn't topped off yet, it's got a good couple of pieces to be placed up yet. Oh, and the pretzels were delicious!
  12. I got no headbanging on Mantis. Sure it hurt down below, but that's only because it's intense, not rough.
  13. Currently at 1048 seconds. My ears hurt. I'm not sure how much longer I can go! EDIT: Stopped at 1148. It's just too much.
  14. Wow, what a great idea with great execution! I'm sure the top of the lift hills provide great views over the water, too.
  15. ^I guess he was refferring to the fact that it was only 240ft tall. But I think at the top, we'll barely notice a difference. But I do agree that the tower is very ugly
  16. Excellent return, and I love the outside of the indoor roller coaster. Beautiful!
  17. I'll have to check this out, it seems really neat. How does it compare to RCT2?
  18. Well, I've found an old Windows 2000 computer in my attic and I plan on using it for hacking. But before I spend too much time on converting my ObjData (and actually finding a spot to hook up this ol thing), is the hacking on a Windows 2000 just like XP? Or will it have some issues?
  19. I'll be at the park Sunday to take some pictures. I wonder if any theming has gone up...
  20. Love the name, and I can't wait until you show us sone more shots.
  21. @Tdub: Yeah, I agree...but thanks! @Dotro: I went for a small "cabin"or "traditional" feel, kind of a sense of calm before the big thrill. @RD: I've been doing some work on the outside of the park, what do you think? Anything I should take out or add? SCR299.BMP ---Braztaz
  22. I personally haven't been on a Mega Lite, but I have been on i305 and Maverick and those are both insane. But I think we should listen to the one who's ridden hundreds of coasters around the globe.
  23. Kings Dominion, where else?
