Thunderhawk was towards the front and Steel Force was in the last car. I really wanted to like both of them, especially Steel Force, but Thunderhawk kicked my butt and Steel Force was just there. Oh and thanks! -

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another exciting edition of Coaster Adventures! =D I left you guys off with my amazing trip to Hershey Park. This adventure brought me to Allentown, PA and down to Dorney Park! After about an hour or so drive from our hotel in York, PA we arrived at Dorney Park! I was really excited to go to this park because I have never been to a Cedar Fair park outside of Cedar Point. Although I was excited, I really wasn't expecting to much. From what I've heard, it was a park that had horrible operations and mediocre rides at best. Heres what I thought... I see you Dorney! We arrived in the parking lot around 11-11:30am. We saw a good amount of car in the lot, enough to make us slightly nervous about long lines. Pretty main gate! Thankfully, most of the people in the park were heading to the water park because it was a sunny day in the high 90's again. Fearing the lines would get worse as the day went on, we decided to head right over to Talon to get it out of the way. Now this is a coaster I've been wanting to ride for years! I've watched it on numerous coaster shows over the years and I was extremely excited to finally get to ride it! The sign looks pretty cool! =] A crazy mess of track and supports! Such a photogenic coaster! After walking through the line, we were greeted with NO line!!! I really enjoyed Talon. I was expecting it be a little more forceful then it was, but it was no where near as forceless as Silver Bullet! Overall the ride had a great layout and the crew was doing there best to make sure the ride remained having no line! I'd give it a 8/10 for the day! Next up was Demon Drop. This was the main reason why I wanted to visit Dorney Park. You may be thinking, why would someones main reason to visit a park be for a first generation Intamin freefall? Well it mainly comes down the fact that i've never ridden one. The only time I saw Great Adventures running was in 2005 and my friend opted out of going on it because the line was to long. When I went to Cedar Point, Demon Drop was just relocated to Dorney. So after years and years of wanting to go on one, I finally got my chance! On the way down to Demon Drop, I saw something that I thought was very strange to see in the middle of summer. There was virtually no one in the park! See! No one!!! I see you Demon Drop! See I wasn't lying... The dry park was legit empty! I don't know what it is about them, but I think these rides are beautiful! So purttty. =] Overall I thought Demon Drop lived up to my expectations. The ride was pretty thrilling and didn't hurt like many people said 1st Gens do. Also the freefall was better then most drop towers that I have been on in the past! I'm going to give this a 7/10! Next up we wet on the parks Log Flume. This ride had the longest wait of the day with a unbearable 10 minute wait! The ride in general was pretty great. I personally loved how it had some great views of Hydra! Speaking of Hydra, that was our next coaster! The entrance sign! This is probably my favorite picture of the trip! Don't worry, this was taken after my ride and as we were exiting the ride platform. =] Such a funky yet pretty looking B&M! While the coaster is very pretty and looks cool. I personally thought it was very blah. Hydra has some pretty cool elements like the Jojo Roll and I did like how it used the terrain to its advantage. But I thought it was weakest (force wise) B&M i've ever been on. I'd give it a 6/10 and thats pushing it. Next up was Meteor! So Pretty I was excited to ride this because I haven't seen one of these since Six Flags New England got ride of Time Warp! Time Warp was my favorite flat at SFNE as a kid so I was ready to relive the experience. The one major difference and I thought was kind of weird was that it was three across. Knowing personally that 3 across rides are a pain to attend and operate because people always want to split up. I was super nice to the attendant and she was super nice back! So nice in fact that I wanted to right a complement about her but i couldn't find where to do that. Any who the ride was great! The one down side was the rides metal floor was redicuouly hot due the 90* weather and all of us had flip flops on. Needless to say, we all burt our feet pretty bad. I'd give it a 7/10. Now it was time for Thunderhawk! Cool name! The rides lift hill. Sorry this is the only picture i got of the ride. Looking at the ride, I thought it was going to be pretty fun... WRONG! This was the worst wooden coaster of the trip! The ride was so painfully rough that I was in the brace position the entire ride! Hopefully they re-track this ride asap so that it can live up to its full potential! I'm giving it a 3/10. Now off to Steel Force! Mantis Sign? I see you hiding... "Airtime" Hill. Now I was pretty excited because I've always wanted to ride a Morgan Hyper Coaster! This ride is massive and goes along the whole park! It has height, it has speed, but thats it. Sadly this is probably the coaster I was most disappointed with on the trip. Maybe I caught it on a bad day or sat in the wrong seat, I felt like this coaster just didn't do anything. I thought it was going to be an airtime machine, but it didn't even feel like I was getting off my seat at all. Hopefully I'll change my opinion of this ride when i return to Dorney Park in the future. 5/10 After Steel Force we decided to go check out Stinger. Sadly it was down do to a gate not properly working. We decided to just go get some other credits out of the way then check on it later. Just incase anyone was wondering, the park was still dead! I love how they have half melted candles on the sign! Pop, Lock, and Drop It! Possessed was a fantastic ride! This was my first impulse coaster that still had the holding break and I loved it! I also loved how creepy the operator sounded and how they would say different things every time: The ride will possess you 3,2,1...Goodbye. or You'll be possessed in... no time. Over all great ride! 8/10 Stinger was still down so we headed over to Dominator. Red, Green, White??? What the hell??? Fake Tower? Nadine and I went on the drop tower while Kyle and Greg went on the shot tower. Ok I really need to ask. Whats up with this ride? Was there 3 working towers at one point? Is it incase they want to build a 3rd? Why not just do the Great Escape way and build just two towers? Does anyone know the real reason behind this? I thought the drop tower was pretty good. Nothing to write home about. 6/10 By this point, Stinger was once again operating so we went over before it went down again. Da Sign Da Ride This was my first invertigo coaster so I was excited! I think the ride was just what the park needed! It filled the need for a major coaster that had a ton of g's on it. Overall i thought it was a great coaster and i'm giving it a 8/10. After Stinger, we got the mouse and kiddie credits and decided to head out. Overall I thought Dorney was a beautiful park! I do agree that most of the coasters are mediocre, but I believe that they are moving in the right direction with the addition of Stinger! I'll give the park a 7/10. Thanks for reading everyone! Be sure to be on the look out for a new update soon! -Kevin -

Its not wrong at all! Besides the slow loading process, it really is a fun ride! The one thing that sucks is that the seat belts in the "Normal" Seats aren't all the same size, so the second time I tired to go on with everyone I had to get off because we couldn't get it buckled. It really wasn't that bad though because I didn't want to run the risk of being soaked for the rest of the night. Also the staff was really nice about it asking if i wanted to wait for the next car and I respectfully declined. They seemed pretty confused too because i'm not even that big of a guy, but w.e. i'm over it. =] -

Hey everyone! Sorry it took me so long to make the next update. As soon as I arrived home, work basically consumed my life for the next few months then school started and blah blah blah... Anyways here it is! Hershey Park: Rush to the Sky! After a crazy storm the night before, we awoke early the next morning. Our hotel was about 45 minutes from Hershey and we thought we should be there as early as possible to get in as many rides on Fahrenheit and Storm Runner as we could before the park opened to the public for the day! Time: 8am-11:30pm Weather: The day was a hot one with temps in the high 90s with! Thankfully that night it cooled down to the mid 70s for the night ERT. Crowds: The park became really crowded by noon with most lines full by 1pm until about 8:30-9pm. The plans for the day! I thought the entrance plaza was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen at any park! Beautiful but small Main Gate. After waiting more then 10 years, I'm finally here! After the park let us in, we were told Storm Runner would not be ready until about 9:15 so my group went right to Fahrenheit! On the I noticed the parks has beautiful landscaping everywhere! I see you Fahrenheit! After 3 great back to back rides on Fahrenheit, we decided to head over to Storm Runner to see if it was open yet. Sadly it still wasn't ready so I took some more photos of the surrounding area. While waiting, Sidewinder began testing which gave us a few good shots. We were also pleased to see that it had the new boomerang restraints with the padded vests, so we had to check it out later! It was great being able to get so close to lift 2 & loop. Sexy new restraints! After about 10 minutes of waiting, Storm Runner opened! I thought the ride was great! It had some great spots of airtime and hang time. But there was one weird head banging turn right before the break run that I wasn't to fond of. After 2 more rides it was time to head over to Skyrush to so we could be the first in line! This was the line at about 10:15am It doesn't look very tall from a distance but once you get next to it, its massive! While going up the stairs to the station, you get this great view of Great Bear! After riding Sky Rush, we decided that we should get some drinks since it was around 90 degrees. Thankfully the park gave us a wristband for unlimited free drinks! After our drinks, we did another lap on Skyrush then went over to SooperDooperLooper to check out its new trains! This is when the park began to become very crowded! This was the like around noon! Such a weird looking support! After waiting about 30-40 minutes, we got on the ride. I thought the ride was pretty good. I thought it was going to be longer, but it wasn't bad at all. The restraints seemed very similar to Runaway Mine Trains at Six Flags Great Adventure which could be a good or bad thing depending on who you are. For me, I was indifferent towards them. We then headed over to Great Bear! The line looked very deceiving. We thought it was going to be much longer then it really was! We only waited about 25 minutes for it, which we were happy with. But as soon as we got off and looked at it again, we saw that the line was pushing a hour wait with almost a full line! Noted! After Great Bear we did the Flume, Condor, and a few other flat rides around the park. Greg and I decided to head over to Roller Soaker to ride it while it was still hot. I realized Hershey does a really good job at hiding the lines. When we got in line we thought it was going to take about 20 minutes since we were at the bottom of the ramp. Wrong! It took a little over a hour because we didn't know that there was a switch back inside of the station. Over all, while I wouldn't wait for it again, I did think it was a great family ride and it sure does seem popular! Does this get you wet? Move along... nothing to see here... I think Wildcat is a very under rated wooden coaster. Is it the smoothest in the world? No. Have I been on worse? Hell yea! and plus its very photogenic! No was the moment I've been waiting 12 years for! Ever since I was a little kid, I've always wanted to ride Lightning Racer! I remember watching it on some roller coaster show where they built it along with Steel Dragon 2000. We walked over to it and excepted at least a 20 minute wait for it, but to our surprise there was no line! The first side we chose to ride was Thunder. This also was my 100th coaster!!! When we got off we were so confused as to why this coaster had no line... It's freakin GREAT! It has so many great elements to it, it keeps a great pace threw out the ride, and its pretty smooth being 12 years old! As soon as we got off we got right back on! This time we road Lightning! Over all this a great under rated coaster that should get a lot more attention then it gets! The old switch backs for Lightning Racers! Sorry for the poor quality! When I said there was no line, I meant there was NO line! After riding Lightning Racer, we decided to get some dinner at the all you can eat buffet that was in the Trailblazer catering area. The food was pretty good. For some reason I found their potato salad to be addicting! After dinner we walked around and road some more rides, chilled, and took some pictures of the park. The park has so many beautiful photo ops for their rides! The Night ERT started a tad late because they had to clear out Skyrushs line. They did however keep SooperDooperLooper open to make up for the late start! They also had Comet open for us and I must say Comet is a really smooth coaster! We were also really happy to find out that they put the new padded train on Skyrush for the ERT and you can really tell the difference! In total we road Skyrush 8 times during the ERT and Comet once! Overall I had an amazing time at Hershey Park! It really did live up to everything expectation that I thought it would! Hopefully I can make it back there at some point next season! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my trip to Hershey Park as much as I did! -Kevin UP NEXT: DORNEY PARK!!! -
