The 70 coasters I rode in England sure did suck and I felt so deprived. Just like anyplace about 10% of the coasters are really good and the rest are average at best. That country is what 1/10 the size of the US so how can you even compare the amount of coasters between the two. England has 2 coasters in my top 10 not to mention so many other good ones in Europe which is closer to England then half of the United States is to me. I feel no sympathy about what your country has as I would much rather go to parks outside the US.

Indiana Beach (IB) Discussion Thread
coaster05 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^You know Cameron will want us to go like 15 times so that shouldn't be a problem. For others there is no way that this won't have the crammed in feeling, because that park has no room left unless you cram it in. IB needs to have plenty of lube for any future expansions. -
Good luck on that Robb. I have leveled out around 185 for over a year. I once got under 180(which is my goal) right before Christmas last year, but haven't seen that number since.

Closing Down A Theme Park
coaster05 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I agree with your Dominator statement, but to believe that MIA always sends out full trains, or to believe that 50% of the people who go to MIA don't go for the water park is crazy. The water park at MIA is amazing and is the only real reason to go as CF continues to ignore maintanace on Timbers. -
Closing Down A Theme Park
coaster05 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not to mention there have been other parks SF has been trying to sell and when they don't have a buyer they just keep operating them. Wasn't there also a rumor that Kennywood wanted to buy the park. I believe CF would have bought it just to keep it away from a company that knows exactly how to run a park that size. -
Closing Down A Theme Park
coaster05 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I also believe that what CF is doing to the industry is far worse then anything SF has done. Even the parks that they don't close down look exactly the same and feel exactly the same. I know SF clones a lot, but the parks all have a unique feel even when they have the same DC type areas. I visited six SF parks this summer and they all felt very unique. I visited 5 CF parks and they all felt just about the same. Dorney, VF, MIA should all be the same park. -
I am not saying there is not a watersplash feature, I am saying that showing this picture of an absolutely drenched Midway is not proof that there is a water splash feature. There was obviously a rainstorm right before this picture was taken. The guy like three above me are you honestly suggesting that the water from the area you circled can get the midway wet up by the gentlemen in the picture? As a teacher the level of reading comprehension on this site frightens me.

Adventureland (IA) 2008: Adventure Island

They do deserve more credit. Their staff is fantastic and I believe it wipes the floor with what HW or CP deliver. the responses at those parks are so "from the training manual". Where Adventurelands seem Real. -

^Exactly my point. Thanks Wes our fair and city festival also had no gang problems either, since they all had something to do. -
Closing Down A Theme Park
coaster05 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No it is no where close to a boys and girls club. Those are staffed full of adults and mentors where a theme park is an unsupervised kid breeding ground. Look I am not trying to pick on you or anything, but I live this gang problem everyday of my life and there is NO way you can group one with the other. It trivalizes the gang problem to an insulting level and to be honest I am kind of insulted by the fact that you believe a theme park could solve the problem. -

coaster05 replied to astroworldfan1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The lack of theme parks leads to gangs! Wow now I have found the way to help the students I teach. I am not trying to be mean, but I have never heard of anything so far off base. These are just parks people, it is not a life and death decision. The reason we have lost so many parks is that they are a luxary item and when given the choice between parks and food, normal people choose food. Except for Acer's who somehow end up with plenty of both. -

^Seriously the thread has 12 posts. I think you could have read it all and discovered I was joking. People take this Hobby WAY to seriously. -

400th trip on Boardwalk Bullet

^Agreed again although last time I said that this thread jumped a page. Again why do you guys care so much it is not like I am even telling people not to ride it. As far as these non locals you guys do realize there are other coaster sites and I actually have friends outside of TPR. My opinion is that I don't want to come there to ride it, why can't I state that with out getting my post picked apart. My basis for my opinion is not wrong, because my opinion is I don't want to ride it, NOT that the coaster sucks. Heck it took me three years to ride TTD and it is 3.5 hours from my house. However a lot of "non locals" told me it wasn't worth the line so I developed the opinion that I was in no rush to ride it. Before you post again ask yourself this. Keeping all the info I have the same If I would have said I can hardly wait to ride it, would you have cared about my sources? Heck would you have even responded? -

Guru and Tex never in my post did I say it was no good. I said I am going to go with the opinion of the non local and not rush down there to ride it. I am sorry that I am just not that interested in your ride, but posting massive responses to my single post is just silly. If you like it all the power to you, it is not like I am trying to tell you you are wrong. My opinion is I have no desire to ride it, mainly because of this personal vendetta some people seem to have to make sure we all experience this new form of coaster euphoria that none of us could have ever experienced. I do realize none of you have called it euphoric, just like no one said it was better then sex I was using sarcasm. -

^In related news CF is suing for the term 50,000 square feet of concrete as a copyright infringement. Seriously this is cool news for one of my favorite parks. -

^I am in total agreement. After the constant reports of causing headaches and back problems, poor tracking and rougness. Followed by "it is still better then sex" comments, I will go with the opinion of the non local. Please don't respond with the "good" roughness comments, because Voyage is aggressive but I didn't get headaches, same with Cyclone although I didn't even find that rough at all. To be honest only Wolverine Wildcat causes me real, actual pain like you described and that is with 102 woodies to my credit. The bullet can definately stay on my "no time soon" list. -

The more I read about this new theme, the more I know this is going to turn out awful for those of us who liked what the park was. I am not saying it will be bad for business, but this is just way to commercial. -
Indiana Beach's 2008 Addition
coaster05 replied to spaceace12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not to mention a couple things. 1. that take really good care of that average woodie. 2. They made so much off having that woodie they have been able to add several more rides. I mean IB have five credits is pretty amazing when you think about it. -
There is no CF park I have been to that I enjoy more then SFGAM. CP is the only one close, but it is just so sterile there that I no longer enjoy it. Other than that the dollar increase is barely worth mentioning, and why would anyone pay a one day admission to any SF park when the season passes ae so cheap.

Let me see if I got this straight. They lost the Snoopy license in part because of their disagreement with CF. So they got the Nick license so they can make their park look like every Paramount park in the country whose license is now owned by Cedar Fair. I am SOOOOOO glad I got to go to this park when it was Camp Snoopy, because I have an feeling that the "new feel" to this park will make me weep inside. -

Your park is owned by CF, soo all areas of the park will lose hope of maintaining their theme. -
^Hopefully he will have the desire to keep BGE as the extremely good full park experience that causes me to drive 12 hours to visit it every other year. If I just want coaster I will go to Craptacular Point.
