Exactly. And if you've ever been on a spinning coaster, they aren't that great. And I don't think a spinning coaster would be themed well to a movie or character in Movie Town. No, that is not at all what I am saying. The Maurer ones are amazing. Dragon's fury at Chessington is my top 20, and Taratula was my second favorite ride on the Spain trip. Also why would I make that statement if I hadn't been on a spinning coaster.

If it is not a custom Maurer then it won't be that great. IMO.

^Great post. There is a certain amount of parks that can survive in any given area, but finding your niche can also be a huge benefit. Overall our society always wants everything bigger, since bigger is obviously better. That is a shame in most things, but really in amusement parks as these small affordable parks get either run down or give up as people compare everything to CP, or Disney, or SF. Indiana Beach and Knoebels are not trying to be those places and that is what makes them great.

They could turn your park into the finest water park in the area.

I would think for as much as CF paid they would want to relocate everything. Course it is also pretty obvious CF will say almost anything so who knows. I found all their coasters other than X-Flight, SLC, and the boomerang to be fun. But hey thats just me. I always liked the park when it was SFWOA. I went every ytear they owned the park and had fun every time.

Just out of curiosity when is closing a park a good thing? Sometimes it is understandable or a necessity, but I would never think a good thing.

^Well it would have been impossible to run the park worse then CF did. Maybe KW's bid was a lot lower, hence making the deal more plausible. I wish KW could have got it before SF then they would have had a chance.

Why is it replacing worlds worst Falling Star that VF has, or do you know El Dorado has a setting where you can run it at 1/5 the speed like the other rides at VF. I agree and would choose to go to KW everytime over CP. Where would KW have came up with the 175 million to buy the place and due the work on it. I think that covers most of the comments I was interested or baffled by.

Do you guys really think CP is going to get a used coaster? No the coasters will go to all the other parks hence giving them "new" coasters making it CP's turn to build again. At least I will not need a CF pass anytime soon again.

One of the worst parts about this is that MIA will now get a piece of crap SLC and will have to go another 7 years or so before getting something new. I am fine that they will get stuck with it, but I am really tired of people trying to make the SLC sound great, or something they need badly. NO ONE needs an SLC badly.

I rode half of it in June so I am glad I got to try it. I was surprised at how fun it was, but poor reliability just gives a park a bad name. I also thought it was dumb to replace that part, but maybe it was a last ditch effort to try and save it. When that failed they just gave up to cut their losses.

Are you serious? Nobody went to that park! Everything has been tried to get the attendence up there. Nothing has worked and it was just losing money. You make no sense in your bash of cedar fair. What exactly did CF ever try on the ride side. Tell me one new attraction or improvement.

When did Cedar Fair officials ever lie about what they were going to do with Geauga Lake? Never did they once ever promise Geauga Lake would continually remain an amusement park. You just assumed this on your own. Nobody lied. It's all in your head. When people get angry and upset, they start pointing fingers and blantantly accusing things by making things up in their head so they have somebody to blame. First I love the name calling and accusing me of lying. When they first bought it they promised a return to a traditional amusment park. I guess that meant water park.

For me personally this is just another reason I dislike CF. They bought, lied to everyone about what they were going to do, removed rides and lied somemore and now there is a Waterpark there. Weeee! I find it funny that for years it ran a nice business til 2 chains tried to make it more then what it was meant to be, now GL is gone. I mean when you are an hour from CP how could either chain justify what they paid for the place.

Wow then how did voyage get made for 6 million. How about Kentucky Rumbler, cornball express, avalanche. etc. Woodens can be built for a lot less especially if they go around the 100 foot mark. Every park needs a Hyper, seriously? Knoebels, IB, and 100 other small parks would have to say you are crazy.

So many things to say. 1. If you haven't been to any parks in said chain your info is not really valid. 2. Outside of Johhny Rockets at CP Disney owns in all levels on their food. 3. Less chains. CP has Fridays, Johnny rockets, Famous Daves just off the top of my head. 4. Don't buy the pizza, and what is the cost for the pizza at CF parks. 5. If you are only interested in rides then why are you involved in this discussion. The thread asks for the better chain and when looking at the better chain ALL things should be considered.

Boss rules I thought it was excellent along with Eagle. I am also curious where that 5 woodie park is other than Blackpool.

I agree it is a very nice park and another woodie would be great. Hypers just cost so much and didn't Shapiro say they would cut down on the spending.

How can the temporary loss of TPR be this big of occurence in peoples lives that their are at least 2 threads about it.
