Russia's Screaming Squirrel
viking86 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Im guessing a slow, boring, braked to death ride, just like the regular Screamin Squirrel... -
Universal Studios Escape (RCT 3)

It looks very good for being RCT3, but I think that DD needs the pre-drop coming off the lifthill. -

Photo TR: Cranger kirmis - The fair in Herne, Germany
viking86 replied to Wishmaster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Why is everyone talking about the fairs in Europe? Are you talking about the fantastic fairs in Norway with a Waltzer and a Magic Carpet as its main rides? From what I have heard, the only fairs that can compete with German fairs when it comes to flatrides, are the largest fairs in the UK, which makes me wonder about all this talk about European fairs when its basically only 2 countries... Great pictures btw! I would LOVE to ride some of those coasters! -
Has anyone seen this video?

Most comfortable?
viking86 replied to thrillrideseeker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Vekoma wooden coaster cars have fantastic seats. Unfortunately the restraints (atleast those on Thundercoaster) are somewhat uncomfortable... -
I prefer wooden coasters that throws the passengers around, thats why Thundercoaster in the rain is the best experience Ive ever had on a wooden coaster. But in dry weather it shakes so voilently that its like getting a spine adjustment. It feels like the train 'crashes' when it reaches the steepest point of the drops and starts levelling out...

Tilt Coaster!?!?!
viking86 replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would have been concerned about what would have happened if the tracks didnt line up correctly. There isnt much room for error there, and a slight misalignment could create one hell of a bump. As for the ride being short, I didnt expect anything else... Yngve "since when was prototype coasters long?" Oestbye -

Final Destonation 3

^My guess is that the larger parks didnt want their coaster to be featured in a movie where the coaster crashes. It could scare the public away from the ride! -

Well, X-Scream isnt supposed to drop the train once it reaches a certain angle..... -
Steel Dragon 2000 could be scrapped!!!
viking86 replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thats definately true, and I have expressed my opinions about it in a few topics, but mainly to answer peoples questions. I never meant for Wrebbit to remove SD2K from his signature and avatar, I just though this topic was getting a bit out of hand...... -
Rode Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen 37 times in one day last summer. It was walk-on all day. The only time it had a line was during our ERS

Yes, Gardaland is an amazing park! Not because of the rollercoaster, but because of the fantastic theming and atmosphere. I spent 1 1/2 day at Gardaland on that trip and I was never bored. At the moment I just dont see how Movie World can compete with Gardaland. If the parks were further apart I think MW would have more visitors. Movie World isnt really a bad park (except the X-area), it just has horrible operations due to lack of visitors....
-
Movie World is a park that could be great, but unfortunately its not. I had the same experience when I visited the park with 75 others from the European Coaster Club. Very few attractions were open at the same time, it almost felt like they were trying to keep the guests together and make them do all the attractions at the same time. I only spent a few hours there before heading over to the waterpark, but most of the time was spent waiting for the rides to open. It was kinda funny when they opened up the crappy X-area about an hour after we got there, and everyone went down there to do the rides, but none of them opened before another 20-30 minutes later. They also kept delaying the opening of the Magma Truck Ride-thingy... I feel kinda sorry for the park because I do think it has lots of potential. Most of the park looks pretty good, with some decent attractions (like the scariest walkthrough EVER), but they dont get enough visitors to keep all the rides and shows open all day. But with a park like Gardaland next door, they have to fight really hard to keep up with the competition. And it seems like they are trying, by adding 2 new rides this year. Oh, and hen we were at Gardaland we actually saw a small airplane with a Movie World banner flying directly above the park

Thundercoaster @ Tusenfryd in a wheel-seat on a dry day is by far the most painfull coaster experience Ive ever had. Its far more uncomfortable than the SLC's and Boomerangs Ive ridden.....
-
I have travelled about 300 miles a few times to visit Tusenfryd, since its the closest park with exciting rides. A few weeks ago I travelled twice the distance to visit Gröna Lund, although we stopped by Tusenfryd on the way home. Fortunately flight tickets are rather cheap these days......

Steel Dragon 2000 could be scrapped!!!
viking86 replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wrebbit, calm down! We all know you are drooling over Steel Dragon, but theres no reason for a post like that. Why do you even care if someone starts a rumor about it when you and most other people already know that its going to re-open? And besides, it wasnt just a 'wild rumor' when this topic was started last year. It came from Justin Garvanovic, founder of the European Coaster Club and also the editor of First Drop magazine. Hes not the person to start rumors based on nothing. He didnt even say that it was going to be scrapped, he said it 'might be scrapped'. Just because I started this topic doesnt mean that Im unhappy about Steel Dragon re-opening.... -

I think its funny how something can be "too big" in the US. I always thought everything was bigger overthere.... -

I dont like opposite corkscrews like that because I think it looks ugly, but its not really unrealistic at all. The transition between them is just like the middle part of a cobra-roll. -

Ah yes, the train! I forgot that not all countries have the same crappy railway system as Norway....
