  1. Well, crap. Apparently Diamondback has seatbelts. I can see them on RMC rides. Not this. This is a load of bull shit. Or should I say snake shit?
  2. I could have sworn that I saw something about Verrukt that said its height in city planning. EDIT - Here. Don't look if you don't like spoilers! https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CE8QFjAE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wycokck.org%2FWorkArea%2FDownloadAsset.aspx%3Fid%3D36615&ei=5ZndUb61KqmOygGRgoHACg&usg=AFQjCNHkTfr6g4KGQaYQcx8r98jmyPy4Sw&sig2=X-fMRClZDOVUqkBXHq1NgA&bvm=bv.48705608,d.aWc The page seems to be password protected if I go to the URL mentioned in Google, but I guess I got the download link URL from Google at some point. I posted this a long time ago in the thread.
  3. How does it compare with Cedar Point's Thunder Canyon.
  4. It probably was very rough, but it was legendary. Kinda like how I think of the Georgia Cyclone on a good day - in the perfect conditions, which in my two trips to SFOG means single-train rain ops on a slow day, Cyclone is horribly rough, but one of the most intense rides that you'll ever see. On another note, is the Beast neutering a case of "Weak and Loop-Loving GP Syndrome", AKA the thing I like to complain about and blame as the reason for a lack of Mega Lites on this side of the planet.
  5. Why can't the Beast run like that anymore if it was safe then? Maintenance?
  6. Having recently taken my second trip to SFOG, let me give my review of the park. Backstory - I live in Ohio. My spring break happened to coincide with Banshee Media Day. So we did a double trip - stop at Media Day before continuing to Georgia. Banshee was fun, but that isn't the point of this. We arrived in Georgia and rode all the credits, including the 2 that I failed to get on the previous trip - Ninja and Canyon Blaster. Here is my little review of the coasters and major rides- Batman: The Ride - Very intense. A little too intense, actually. Still very fun. The forcefulness is much higher than Banshee (not to say that Banshee isn't good - it is and it will get better as it "warms up.") I think it would be interesting to see the ride's first half up to the second loop combined with airtime near the end, but that's just me. Airtime on an invert is one of my pipe dreams, I guess. Dahlonega Mine Train - Great family ride. Besides that, it is just a typical mine train, just slower and with more tight turns. Dare Devil Dive - Fun ride, but has a LOT of mechanical issues and a relatively low capacity. The ride ops seemed to make the most of it, however, and ran the ride at a nice pace (probably about the fastest it could run, considering that cars had to slow down on the lift to wait for the next one to clear the MCBR.) You gotta love the transition from a positive-g ride to a slow roll at the end. Georgia Cyclone - Certain conditions (such as light rain, one-train operations) make this ride a ride to remember. In the front or back - particularity the back - a good ride on it can be one of the most intense woodie experiences ever. It is a bit painful though and the seats are narrow - at least for me. Scorcher - Forceful standup with an unusual layout. Average ride, not horrible. I can't really think of much else to say. Goliath - As an airtime-centric ride, I like this quite a bit. Even if it is not Intamin-level, the ride is fun and unusual among hypers for its helix, lack of MCBR, and terrain differences. GASM - Can range anywhere from an airtime machine to a boring ride. Experiment with seats and don't sit over wheels. Mindbender - Ride in the far ends of the train for best results. And tighten your lap bar, especially if you are a first time rider - the ride has several unexpected airtime moments. Ninja - Actually not the horrible pain machine everybody makes it out to be, although it certainly does have its moments of crappiness. Superman - Pretzel loops are incredibly intense, and despite a rather monotonous layout after it, Superman still can deliver. Canyon Blaster - Good family coaster for kids not quite up to Dahlonega. What else do I say? Acrophobia - Despite difficulty getting in and pain in the thighs while braking, it is a great ride and feels very intense. On a side note, the ride ops sometimes would grant permission to use cameras aboard the ride. I imagine this is outside of their authority.
  7. Bump. coasterfreak101, are you going?
  8. Actually, that's one more train than Cedar Point would run in that situation because they close pretty much everything in the rain. They also run one train in bad weather, hence the "Well, maybe because of the rain." I was thinking more of crowd conditions. Maybe SFOG does "one-train-in-the-rain" that CP does when they run their rides in the rain?
  9. I think Poltergeist and JJ don't have MCBRs, just flat track. I don't know, though.
  10. Is there stacking? Honestly, if there is, I think there should be separate loading and unloading platforms a la Millenium Force.
  11. Did you happen to ask an employee for a reason? I only ask because I can't even remember the last time a saw a coaster run only one train at SFOG where the other trains wasn't actually being worked on by maintenance. Either not enough people or the projected crowds were low. It was also raining. Either way, there were not many lines, but I don't think that CP would run one train in this situation. Well, maybe because of the rain. Note- this comes from the CP/CF fanboy.
  12. Honestly, running one train where another park (like CP) would run 2 or 3 appalls me.
  13. Batman right now - one train with two back rows for Flash Pass only...
  14. At the park. Most rides run one train... This is literally the most annoying thing ever.
  15. I was about to say something about that, I noticed it in line. I really hope they do not use it in the future. I think the ride is fine the way it is, although I didn't believe it was very forceful, they really really really should not neuter it! I did love how you really crawled through the in-line twist, makes you nervous coming out of your seat like that but it was great. I thought it lead nicely into the pretty forceful carousel at the end. It really is a great ride, and it looks great too! It was probably used today, considering that I don't think you can disable a magnetic trim.
  16. I loved it! Definitely not a "forceless B&M". Did anybody notice that the dive out of the zero-g roll has a magnetic (I think) trim?
  17. Wing coasters in general are hated by a lot of people here, not just American wing coasters.
  18. By the way, I'd kind of like to see a poll of all coasters. Just to see whether Outlaw run, El Toro and the like beat their steel counterparts.
  19. I'm happy to see Maveshark up quite a bit.
  20. I actually kind of like that Togo layout. If it was re-engineered by Intamin or another company, just imagine - ejector airtime, giant helix, more ejector airtime. Video- Shows a slow lift- Cruddy POV-
  21. Fog? At a big chain park (CF/SF?) Outside of Halloween season? THE APOCALYPSE COMETH!
  22. I have all the credits except Canyon Blaster (at least I think that's what the family coaster is) and Ninja, if I remember correctly (my first visit last year was when Ninja had a broken chain.) What should I expect from Ninja? I know that it is a piece of crap. I've been on one ride worse than it (by the Mitch Hawker Poll) - Time Warp, a Volare, which I didn't find that bad. Is Ninja worse than a Volare or better?
  23. That is unusual. TPR Russia trip, anybody?
  24. The taking of pictures and video on Media Day while riding is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught taking pictures or video while riding will be ejected from the park! Is this really THE Don? Anyways, I guess this means that getting permission is impossible. Thanks for the reply.
  25. One more question about Media Day - Can you get permission to film with anything other than a GoPro on the provided mounts? I have a secured non-Gopro camera. By secured, I mean it is a watch that doubles as a mini-camera.
