  1. It's not so much of a horrible idea anymore cuz it's not happening. It would be really funny if DD ended up at CGA--- Deja Vu?
  2. That's all well and fine and I was a ride op and completely understand the issue of only letting the GP know certain information about a ride downtime...BUT, there is absolutely NO REASON for the op to make a rude comment to the guest that ultimately pays their wages. The op should have handled the situation better by using some tact in a POLITE way. When this happened and I didn't/couldn't say how long it would be I would just tell them that, politely, never in a rude or indifferent manner.
  3. The 2 things that annoyed me the most were line jumping and some ride ops. But like I said, I expected that and didn't let it ruin our visit. Things can't be perfect and if your expectations are too high you will be dissappointed, that's just how things are. If it were up to me, ops would not be lazy/on their phones and there would be no line jumping, but that is out of my control. It does seem like Scream! is the breakroom ride.
  4. I know Riddler's can take forever to load but don't remember ever hearing it is a maintenance nightmare. In fact, I don't recall hearing any B&M standups being maintenance nightmares. That sucks you had a bad visit. Everytime I've gone little nuisance things have happened (line jumping, ops not paying attention or on their phones, some rides closed, rude idiots in line), but we didn't let these things ruin our visit. You just kind of expect some of it unfortunately because of the way things are.
  5. I hope we don't have to wait THAT long!
  6. If they can do it I hope it goes there so any other unoccupied space can be saved for a coaster.
  7. Does anybody know where the swing is supposed to go?
  8. And once again CGA gets the shaft! This is total crap! So now what, 11 years without a coaster?
  9. ^Lol, yeah what would you guys do if lightning had taken out the Dippin' Dots cart?- OMG could you imagine?
  10. Funny thing is I was the lead at that unit of rides the year it stopped working. V2 was my ride and its not that its expensive to use the brake. It's broken!!! One day it was fine, there was a bad storm that night, the next day I come to work and not only was the brake not working, the whole ride was out of wack. (Theory when I was there was that it got struck by lightning). The break is nothing but a set of LIMs that fire in the reverse direction. Its expensive to fix and to get a crane up there to repair or replace it. To get the ride back up they had to reprogram the ride (I was sure it was temporary) so that the ride would by pass the holding break thus not screwing with the ride program cycle. Certain things take priority, you rather have a ride operational than not. I'm sure when they can factor the fix in the budget it will get taken care of but there are lots of things on the fix it list, and further more, its hard to just call up a company and expect them to have a crane big enough ready when ever u pick and choose. Just keep your fingers crossed. I miss working there and my 123 family!!!! U know who you are. Thank you, that actually, totally makes sense and it's good to know that it could still work and it's just a matter of when they fix it. Lightning can really jack things up.
  11. Magnetic brakes would be a very good upgrade for Demon Drop, smooth and failsafe. The original braking system is horrible and I would be very interested in riding this if it's true.
  12. That sounds like great news but I don't understand why they haven't or cannot do the same to V2 @ SFDK? Ever since the change it has not been used yet is still there. There should be no drawbacks to using it now and I would like to experience it as it sounds really fun. Have they just forgotten about it, are they trying to save money, what is the reason?
  13. I have to say Revolution @SFMM- I always thought the loop looked really cool, almost perfectly round. Then, And now,
  14. Do you hate shopping carts? I have three words for you.... WATCH IT SHRED!!!
  15. It's odd how Halloween is becoming more popular at parks. It didn't just start yesterday how come it has never been like this before? What's next, Thanksgiving? - lol
  16. Vortex is crappy no matter where it is. I think the simple answer is to add attractions that draw in guests and enhance the park, through types of rides and themes. Carefully placing them as to not disrupt the atmosghere of the area but this can be challenging with limited space and care must be taken to that end. But do most of the GP really care about that or are they just interested in what's new and thrilling? Would attendance be higher with great atmosphere or a bunch of thrilling rides all over?
  17. ..."photo opportunity to capture terrified guests as they're subjected to the horror of the maze." ...can't wait to see those pics! - lol
  18. Flight Deck @ CGA, very short but intense. Medusa @ SFDK, glass smooth, wonderful 7 inversion ride Batman: The Ride @ SFMM, intense insanity! All B&M inverts and I would be extremely happy if any one of these came to my park, even Silver Bullet. Yeah I guess it's nice a 1st gen freefall is being saved, if that's what you like then great. This move doesn't add up but what would really be screwy is if they put Demon Drop in at CGA.
  19. I was just kidding about the black track. That element sounds really interesting. Will it be almost like Expedition Everest with the bi-directional travel? I wonder exactly how this Intamin innovation will work? No POV animation available yet I guess.
  20. World's first (Intamin) coaster with sexy black track.... no?
  21. If that theater goes dark then it will be more storage like the Pictorium, which is sad because they could really make better use of the spaces by removing both. I was never really a fan of these simulators, they just never seemed right, it just felt strange. The Pictorium was awesome, the screen was so big you didn't need moving seats, you really had the sensation of flying, falling, etc.
  22. If they got rid of that theater they could use that space for a station/que for a Vertical Velocity type coaster that could go right behind it in Tidal Wave's old spot... is that ironic or just an upgrade? That theater is awful or the movies are or both, I just don't think they need it. Last time I 'rode' it seemed run down and the projected image was very dim. Is it even popular anymore?
