Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Not to break the speculation game, but it appears the Windseeker has achieved liftoff. Also, a dark ride would be wonderful. -

^I'm not quite sure if only one splashdown would be "aquatrax" enough for a new CP coaster. -

I hope that something ends up being built back there. That whole section behind Raptor is always dead. -
I have been trying to log into my university account for a half hour, but it won't sign me in!!!!! AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHH!!!

I don't recall if anyone else mentioned this in particular detail, but I think Windseeker and the area surrounding it looks very nice as well. The ride has what is probably my favorite sign in the park, and I love how close one can get near it. The new beach gate looks very nice, as well. It's probably the nicest admission gate in the park now! -
Photo TR - Cedar Point 2011 - Worst. Opening Day. Ever.
BigDipper 80 replied to Real's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
What really was bothersome to me was that yesterday the handful of open rides were all running one-train operations. Now, I have absolutely no idea if this was a result of the nonstop rain we've had since April which resulted in slowing things down in terms of getting the crews ready and the rides up to capacity for the weekend or if this is typical for opening weekend, but I have NEVER seen CP's coasters run one-train operations. Even Corkscrew usually has two trains running even if there is no lines. I do understand that it's (obviously) extremely early in the season and it'll take time for everyone to get their sea legs (hopefully this blasted rain will finally leave by the end of the month!), so I'm trying not to complain too much at this point! Ocean Motion does look great in its new spot. And in other news, I had what was quite possibly my best ride on Mantis ever. I usually despise it, but this time it was actually tolerable for me. Very fast and intense. -
R.D.'s Patent's thread.
BigDipper 80 replied to QueerRudie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just me thinking aloud, but if I recall correctly, I believe that this is actually the patent for the boat system Arrow developed for It's a Small World at the '64/'65 World's Fair. Otherwise, interesting little thread! -

I really do think that these Windseekers look great. A lot more photogenic than I was expecting. -

Photo TR: Waldameer Opening Day 5-7-11
BigDipper 80 replied to Geauga Dog's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Very nice TR. I haven't been out to Waldameer in years, and I really need to get back. I'm not entirely sure how I have lived this close to RFII and have not traveled out to Erie to ride it yet! -
I'm always intrigued by the poor operations that everyone talks about at Knott's. Is Cedar Point just an exception to the rule and CF's other parks aren't as fantastic in the operations department, or is it the other way around and it's only Knott's that can't run its coasters at full capacity every day?

Glad you liked it! I must say that your slide tower you have going there is quite awesome as well. -
The "Preview" Thread
BigDipper 80 replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Well, all that's there is Mysterious Island, and that's honestly all that I planned on building. I don't have the time to build the whole thing, and since I've never used CS, it would be all the more difficult to create with only NCS. So I usually just focus on one area of a park and go from there. -

Another micro-park that I'll probably never finish but will still share screenshots of. Hmm... I wonder what famous mountain this is... -
My email: "Hello, I am searching for summer employment and I am wondering what would be the best way to obtain a job application for your location.Thank you" The response: "What store r u interested in working at?" ... I don't care if the communication is email. I would appreciate it if people took the time to respond using proper grammar.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
BigDipper 80 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Comment 1: What is it with local news stations leaking all of Cedar Fair's ride additions a day before the official announcements? Comment 2: I think this will be a wonderful addition. If I was still five-ish, I would have probably had a field day with this. Besides, the park really is in need of rides and attractions with low or no height restrictions outside of Planet Snoopy. -

I'm not sure if "T-Rex" is a generic enough name for a Cedar Fair coaster... -

A break from the current discussion to announce the new nighttime show for 2011... --from pointpixels.com. Doesn't seem like anything particularly fancy or noteworthy, but then again, it wouldn't take much for the new show to be better than Hot Summer Lights.
