  1. Well, that came completely out of left field. Cool.
  2. I live next to an interstate, directly under the main flight path for Cleveland-Hopkins Airport, AND have train tracks about 500 feet from my house. I guarantee that people can learn to deal with the noise. And if they can't, they need to move somewhere else. Like the middle of Nebraska, where it is quiet and empty. Their obnoxiousness cannot bother me there.
  3. Bendigo Grill? I'd love to eat there! Glad to see that a certain "new area" finally nearing completion! Fantastic park, as always. Side thought- will the Studios ever be available for download? I downloaded the other park and loved it. Your decision, of course. I'm not pushy.
  4. As you may have noticed, I don't often post my creations in this thread other than the occasional screen in the Preview Thread. But with the advent of the Game Exchange, it is easy for me to upload the occasional file, so consider this a shameless plug for my first upload. Mountaineer is a hybrid wooden roller coaster with both terrain and out-and-back elements. It isn't perfect, but I still think that it turned out nicely. There isn't much else to say, so... Download from the Game Exchange HERE POV: And some screens: To give you an idea of the layout of the ride.
  5. I always love seeing snow in places where it usually doesn't snow. It's an interesting contrast, snow on palm trees. Just bizarre and wonderful all wrapped up together. Being from Cleveland, I suppose that I'm so used to the white stuff that I don't really give it a second thought, but this is just great. Interestingly, we've had some nice days up here and all of our snow melted, which is a rarity for January.
  6. ^It's hard to see from that screen, but the turn is, in fact about 45 degrees, like you said. Thanks for the tip about that dip there! It's hard to notice things like that when using a few pictures and an aerial shot on Google Maps. I may get around to moving the zero-g roll one day, but like I said, this was more of a "for fun" project, at least for the moment. Thanks for the FYI, though. Glad you're interested in it! Now to figure out why mine is 300 feet shorter than the real one...
  7. I'm digging the sexy monorail shots. There can never be too many monorail shots.
  8. Yesterday was fairly dull, so I whipped up a crude little model of Nemesis just for fun. I honestly have no clue how accurate it is, considering I only went off of a handful of RCDB pictures. But I think it's decent, considering the time I've put into it and the fact that I've never been to Alton Towers. I might consider continuing with this and fix it up and/or putting it on the Exchange or in a thread if anyone would care to see more. Overview
  9. Windows 7 needs to go jump off of a cliff. Twice. I have discovered that a number of new files on my computer now have little locks next to them, and even though I am the administrator, I cannot access them. They just disappear when I go into my program files as if they never existed. I never had this problem with XP, and none of the old files that I transferred from the XP computer are locked. Ugh.
  10. My stupid iTunes keeps trying to sync other people's apps onto my iPod when I have specifically told it to STOP doing that. I don't want the Bible on my iPod! I want MY music and MY apps and that is all. But this is too complicated for iTunes (or perhaps myself, since I can barely use iTunes) to understand. And to make matters worse, Windows 7 has gotten into a habit of crashing iTunes every minute or so. UGH!
  11. Yes most of the time, but I'm not comfortable with Wendy's leaving the skins on now, which seems weird for fast food. If you had the chance to be the first person to orbit Saturn and become famous but had to leave your family for many months, would you do it?
  12. I too just came back from TRON, and I was actually quite pleased with it, especially after reading some of the harsher reviews on Roten Tomatoes. Sometimes you just have to form an opinion for yourself though, and now that I've seen it, I feel that it was a decent film, or at least a bit better than what some of those critics said. I had initially planned on buying an IMAX-3D ticket since our local theater recently put in an IMAX screen, but $17 seemed a bit too much and I instead went with the Real-D theater. Has anyone seen TRON (or any other film, for that matter) in IMAX, and if you have, do you feel that the larger screen justifies the extra price?
  13. I had honestly believed that the T-shirt contest was going to be the end-all Photoshop contest. I was wrong! Can't wait to see more!
  14. Very cool pictures! What sort of event was this tour for?
  15. A fireworks show I created for one of my parks. I've been working on it for a while, and it'll probably end up having even more "stuff" in it. On a side note: if anyone is interested in actually seeing the park that I've been making this for, I'd be glad to start up a thread with some screens of said park.
  16. I just found out that I have a big library fine on some book that I have been using for AP History for the past four months, and the library never called once like it usually does when books' due dates are approaching!
  17. I completely agree. Even though the entire coaster hasn't even been completed yet and I've only seen a handful of photos, I'd say that so far it appears to be one of the best-looking unthemed (read: Not surrounded by a mountain) coaster that I've seen recently.
  18. I have discovered that looking at uncooked Chef Boyardee products grosses me out.
  19. *excitedly types robbalvey@themeparkreview.com* email sent... NOW How exciting! I love Bags-o-Crap! Let me just say again how much fun I've had with this thread! The UAE really looks like a fantastic place to visit.
  20. If you look really closely at the front of that train, it appears that its wheels do not quite line up with the track. I think someone in Dubai Marketing decided to Photoshop a new front car onto Superman Escape's trains. But why, I have no idea. That pentagon logo looks oddly familiar. I know that I've seen it, but I don't remember where.
  21. ^Given that this has been Photoshopped twice already, I'm feeling a photoshop contest!
  22. ^^Well, i suppose I missed that. Thanks for the heads-up! I did in fact come across Children's city, but the website was all in Arabic and I couldn't find an English version of the site to guarantee that it was that park for cetrain, so I just ignored it. Now if only I could figure out those darn mystery buildings...
  23. Doing some more Google Map-ing, I'm now pretty sure that THIS hotel is the same as the hotel below, as you can see the Metro tracks in front of it and the curve of the hotel seems right. Which means that you guys were in the parking lot of that water park area there, but I haven't found out exactly what that water park is yet. I really need to find a way to stop posting a million pictures to explain what I'm seeing. Now to figure out what that water park is...
  24. THIS is the same place as this, which is the Dubai Monorail that connects Atlantis and Trump Tower. And Elissa's "watch" appears to be the new Lo-Q timer for water parks, which would add Wild Wadi to the list of visited places. And finally, the "golf ball building" is the Etisalat Building in Dubai.
  25. @Chroniq, I'd say Sharjah is as good a guess as any. Every building that I've seen on Google that are Sharjah-ish look a lot like the buildings in question. And on Bing Maps, I just found two buildings and a parking garage (I think) in the middle of a deserted spot just off of 101 Street at near roundabout. Perhaps it's the same as this?? I'd do more sleuthing, but it's 10:30 here, and I have class in the morning. The buildings in question... now that I looked at it again, maybe they don't quite line up right...
