TPR's 2018 USA Tour Trip Reports!
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really loved Twisted Timbers, more than I thought I would. My favorite memory of the day though was KT saying "I'm knocking it down a point because it's themed to apples and I don't like apples!" I like the theme and at least think it's somewhat more original than normal! -
I know most of you are drooling over the log flume, but the Ropes Course may prove much more interesting. Has Zamperla made a ropes course before? There are many different manufacturers worldwide but in the US we're pretty used to the Ropes Course Inc. ones we see everywhere. Curious to see what their version is like.

Legoland New York Discussion Thread

Yup! The hotel in middle of nowhere Polk County averages about $300/night on weekends and they just announced a third hotel for the property. This New York one will be insanely priced and sold out all the time! -

I absolutely loved Adventure Mountain at Dollywood and super loved Camp Discovery at Shanghai Disneyland. Cedar Point could pull of something like that if they wanted, not sure if that's what this is, but I would love that and think it would be a great addition for the park. ...it could also be somewhat temporary if we learned anything from Dollywood! -

I don't see anything on their site or mobile app about merchandise. I would contact them, and say you're especially interested in shirts from the Pagoda gift shop and hopefully they can help you. -

^That's a little scary for me, the one at Parque Espana was similar to the Mos Burger version like this: -

Parque Espana certainly is the best park in Japan other than Disney/Universal to visit in the rain as they have a decent amount to do. Plus they had an amazing fast food restaurant where I finally got my "yakiniku rice burger" that I had been trying to get the whole time in Japan but always missed out. -

^Yeah, I never understood the local hate for Iron Reef. It's a solid, good dark ride for a regional park. -
Denver Parks
SharkTums replied to Shavethewhales's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We last went to the Denver parks in 2005. No desire to go back to them anytime soon. They're fine, but nothing special or standout. If I'm going to Colorado, it will be for Water World (crazy weird water park), skiing and outdoor activities, or the Celestial Seasonings Factory Tour (seriously one of the best industrial tours out there!). I can't imagine doing it without a car. US public transportation outside of pretty much four major cities in this country is atrocious. Good luck! -

I don't know what version of Phoenix you rode, but it most certainly has ejector air! We have the video and photos to prove it! Trust me, I am VERY stingy in saying a ride has true ejector air, and this one does. -

Terrifyingly awesome!!!! -
^Funny story about the Sinbad show! When Robb and I were narrowing down wedding locations (a long time ago!) we had it down to Universal or Disney. We did a great tour of Universal with their events people and were really close to booking the wedding/reception in Lost Continent with the main meal at Mythos, would have been awesome! The point of contention that ruined the deal was that they insisted we *HAD* to include one showing of the Sinbad show at a cost of $5k. Nope. Dealbreaker.

It goes back to a problem people have nowadays online...if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything! No one is forcing you to go to the park. No one is forcing you to ride the new coaster. No one is forcing you to go to the parks Facebook page. You're not paying for the new coaster?!!? You don't have the right to be all bitchy about this thing that really doesn't affect you at all! This applies to so much in life...much more than just coasters! -

We used the meal voucher one day at a 'make your own burrito' type place near Raptor and it was fine. Definitely better than the normal hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken strips type meal deal possibilities. -

^We had a couple of participants right at that limit and I always tell them to use the flat shoes and slouch method. We've never had anyone denied.
