  1. If you look at population numbers, I'm not convinced you'll see it come back. Phoenix has people than Denver and a much better operating season and doesn't support a full size amusement park. Miami has more people than Denver and a much better operating season and doesn't support a full size amusement park. Detroit has more people than Denver and an equally crappy operating season and doesn't support a full size amusement park.
  2. Anyone else see a resemblance to the central area of Disney Quest? Kind of funny that they tore down the building to build something that looks quite similar inside!
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Are they going to wait to open the coaster until the hotel is done? They've done stranger things before!
  4. KISS Keep it simple stupid. This poll is already light years ahead of any GP coaster/park poll out there, I think we just need to find that sweet spot between dumb and way too much effort and work that scares any casual person away. Stick with favorite type and don't stress about every type of Boomerang/SLC/Zyklon/etc. cause none of them will be in the top 25 anyways!
  5. ^9500 Chinese on a Chinese Knock Off cruise ship? Hard pass.
  6. i was on a ship last week with all that stuff and none were upcharges. Correct. None of those on Royal Caribbean are upcharges along with the rock climbing, flow riders, bumper cars, indoor skydiving, etc. I would assume this will NOT be an upcharge on Carnival. From what I'm seeing on the cruise enthusiast boards, most people are most concerned about how often it will be open (apparently the Carnival cycle monorail has a lot of downtime) and how it looks on the ship (personal preference).
  7. So I don't know how this went so ignored by all of you crazy coaster people but... We finally have our first 'Roller Coaster at Sea'! Yup, Carnival Cruise Line has announced they are puting one of those Maurer Dragster Coasters on their new Mardi Gras ship coming out in 2020. Bolt: Ultimate Sea Coaster 800 Feet Long Up to 40mph 187 feet ABOVE sea level The ship will be sailing out of Port Canaveral (the port Orlando uses) so it fits the market! Here's a look at the coaster itself. Look how it wraps around the signature "Whale Tail" of the Carnival Ship!
  8. ^It's a quality place for sure when there's no website or phone contact! If it was open, I don't know if I'd even trust it at this point!
  9. ^Too many! Didn't we force someone to ride the one at Circus Circus last year!?!?
  10. A kick in the crotch would have been better than an inverter so yeah...score one for Adventureland!
  11. It's sad. I feel like this is the start to their slow downfall into idiocracy like the rest of the world. I remember watching Europe fall into our terrible patterns and now to see this happening there also...it hurts a little.
  12. ^Oh I get it, when Desperado was new and didn't try to repeatedly steal your kidney's and kill you it was quite an amazing ride! You may be better off remembering those rides...
  13. Um, yeah, I get it, Beauty and the Beast ride looks incredible, but we KNEW that was going to be amazing! Why are we not talking about "The Happy Ride" with Baymax!!!!??? Is it wrong that I am so excited for this even though I know it's just like a standard family spinning type attraction!!?
  14. ^I believe it's supposed to open July 1?
  15. ^I think I remember someone posting that it ran at some point in the last few months? I remember this because I was about to post, wow, I think it's really dead based on photos, reports, locals, and lack of anything and then Bam! Out of nowhere it randomly ran one day!?!? If no one can help you out, I hope that you go just so you can update us on the status of that whole complex.
  16. The cost of water is nominal since it is continually recycled although some does has to be continually added. Maybe in Georgia (which appears to be your area of expertise) but I can assure you that it is NOT nominal in many places in this country.
  17. I'm guessing the plans for the zoo to try and take over and re-energize the place fell through.
  18. ^Yeah but to a lot of "general" park people going upside down and/or over the shoulder restraints is a deal breaker.
  19. All around the world they laugh at us and our lack of amusement parks in cold weather! I have ridden Splash Mountain in the snow in Tokyo! (Along with a BUNCH of roller coasters) The German's are strong too! Europe in general...I mean the amount of speedos we saw in water parks in 65 degrees always amazes me!
  20. Such an awesome thing to do in the offseason. I love that they've taken the best parts of so many other events and put them all in one place!
  21. ^Words are hard. So is spacing, paragraphs, sentence structure...
  22. It's not just maintenance and upkeep, but also the cost of water. In many communities water is becoming more and more expensive and those rides pump through a lot of it.
  23. Apparently the whole last week this has been going on with Google Maps in more than just Theme Parks. I guess people are bored or something.
