Photo TR: Late-March Snowboarding in Utah

Salt Lake City really deserved the Winter Olympics! I've skiied in the Park City area several times and it's really lovely. They almost always have great conditions! Looks like you had a great time! Did you try any of the local restaurants, they're kind of famous for having good cuisine up there too! -
Fat, Hairy, but strangely alluring!

Gay Bar... No seriously...a bunch of coaster people introduced us we talked online for awhile, then we hung out a few times at various parks (Solace, SFGAd, PKD, HW, etc.) Eventually he realized how awesome I was, and he dumbed me down enough to the point I agreed to marry him!

It depends on when you're travelling. If it's off season, you don't have to book anything ahead of time and you can pick up 'discount coupon books' at rest stops and get some good deals. During the summer though, it's probably best to book ahead of time.

NEWS: The Quest is over for DisneyQuest WDW
SharkTums replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't worry too much about all of the attractions, this is Disney we're talking about! They'll all find new homes somewhere! Think about what a great bonus this will be for Innoventions! Here's to our friend at the ESPN Club getting a promotion during the big move to the Zone! And here's to another kickass restaurant going into the boardwalk area! (Hopefully!) -
NEW Bubbleworks at Chessington.
SharkTums replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At least Bubbleworks sounds like it was less of a travesty than the Willy Wonka redo!!!! AHHH!!!!! I miss Toyland Tours!!!! -
Politics are a dangerous discussion, especially online. Thanks for keeping it relatively civil for so long!

^Why are you telling someone to 'rethink their opinion'?!?!?! Seriously, this thread needs to calm down very soon. BTW, as painful as Dodonpa might be, it hands down beats Dragster in my mind as well! Extreme Launch and the most insane moment of airtime EVER.

Thanks for explaining your position a bit better. It's really weird how everyone always thinks we have some 'beef' with CP. We both think it's one of the best run parks in the world, but I'm sorry, I agree with most of the people that say it's "The Words Best Collection of Mediocre Coasters". And trust me, as much as it pains me to say, I even think that SFMM has a better collection. Does that mean I like SFMM more than CP, NO! I hope this at least clears it up. Plus when CP builds the 500 foot flying dueling wooden turtle feces ride next year we'll be sure to visit and see if any of our rankings have changed!

SharkTums replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Random, Random, Random
Well according to your Photo TR, Robb is apparently a woman. I mean with all the free food and hairy butt cracks he would fit right in! -
^^I'm sorry you're crying then! BTW, why are you anxious to hear his opinion on Tatsu if you seem to disagree with all of his other rankings?? ^Oh, and most 'reputable' polls out there have not had MF has #1 since it opened.

Madrid's Theme Parks

The Metro ride from the airport to Parque Atracciones was only like $2 so it's not a big deal if you have to pay full price. Sorry can't help you on any deals! -
Eurosat at Europa Park

Yeah, I don't hate it at all!!! It's really insane, kicks your ass, but all in a good way! -

M:S = Mission Space And Bill, you know we'd love to have you on that tour! -
^Yeah, but if you knew more about SFGAd, you would realize that a lot of the worries about 'screwing it up' are JUSTIFIED!!!! Personally, I think it looks much better than Colosos!

Phantasialand Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to roeterich's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, that's just incredible!!! It would have been easier at this point to just build the thing indoors Winjas style! -
I didn't run out to get on KK, and I wouldn't have had it been in Europe. Heck, I could have ridden Stealth at Thorpe on two different occaisions and I didn't even bother! I don't think that ride is going to be any better than any of our rocket coasters! BTW, when did wanting good stuff become 'greedy'?!!?? Maybe we just want quality? Or in my case, having ridden almost 800 coasters I can recognize what's good and what's not?

The Two Giovanola Brothers Question
SharkTums replied to sfgoliath's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To me, it made no difference at all. If anything it killed the speed for the final section even more than when they stop you on the midcourse...twice! -
I don't agree with that at all. America has some of the best rides on Earth, so does Europe. Just because the US has more, doesn't make them better! Your example of Dueling Dragons is perfect, there's pretty much nothing in the world that can compete with that, and I don't think I would say otherwise. The coasters themselves might be beaten by other inverts but it's a whole experience. In fact looking back at your comparisons pretty much proves the point that Quality beats Quantity!!!!
