Nara Dreamland closing
SharkTums replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, I'm really lusting for punishment!!! I'm having enough nightmares about the UK trip!!! Seriously, this is not a sure thing at all. I'd much rather do the two TPR Japan trips, and do them right. This would just be a quick trip over to hit Nara, Disney, and some other parks for people desperate for the credits! (I don't think we'll get enough to make it happen!) -
^NO WAY!!!! The only time I went out that way was for the fair, and to get the hell out via the airport!

I knew we had mods for a reason! Thanks guys, you're awesome! -
^Good question. I believe it's just off our top 10 lists. I felt Aska delivered slightly better than viper so I gave that one the edge. It's hard to put two clones on the same list.

Nara Dreamland closing
SharkTums replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ok, I just had another thought... I realize that some people are probaby bummed and would want to go out for this park. **THIS WOULD NOT BE AN OFFICIAL TPR TRIP** but.... I would be willing to take about 10-15 people over. I could arrange transportation, hotels, park admissions, and you would be responsible for everything else. We would go together to probably 5 or 6 parks. This would be more like a 'meet' than a 'tour'. Rest assured that a FULL TPR Japan Trip is in the works, but I might be able to put together a mini one before Nara Dreamland closes. It would be a quick 5 days plus travel days. Nothing is finalized or set. If you are interested please email me: emeridithw2@aol.com ASAP and I'll see about putting something together for August. This also will only happen if I get confirmation that Nara is infact closing. -
Report: quick trip to Myrtle Beach area
SharkTums replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the rundown...I'll have to make note of that kiddie credit in Augusta! Seriously though, the whole myrtle beach thing still confuses me, do you have time to do a quick list of park, what rides they have, how close they are to the other parks? I'm picturing a Jersey Shore type vibe with a bunch of parks all independantly operated right next to each other. -
Nara Dreamland closing
SharkTums replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let me put on my shocked face...oh wait...NOT SURPRISED!!! Seriously, if they save Aska this is NO LOSS to the coaster community at all. And realistically, Aska is a Viper (SFGAm) clone so we can still go ride it! Yes it's sad when a park closes or when coasters get scrapped, but face it, the park was not a nice one. -
The Two Giovanola Brothers Question
SharkTums replied to sfgoliath's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes. They both: Lift, drop, turn, drop, speed hill... Then Titan has an extra helix into the midcourse brake..then they are the same again: drop off brake, helix, helix, helix, etc. Final Brakes. -

Kanonen was hardly 'buttersmooth' in anything but the front seat. I hope this ride is smoother!!! -

If I had to choose one I would choose SFGAd. Especially with El Toro!!!! The one downfall of SFGAd is that the closest hotel is about 30 minutes away.

We don't have one 'planned'. But we do plan to go within the next few years. Hopefully we can meet up when we come down!

Ok, I haven't been to DLR in 14 months so let me try and explain it!!! As you're coming from the downtown disney head straight to the middle of the plaza, now turn towards Disneyland and go 1 or 2 sections in that direction. Our brick is towards the 'top' of one of those sections. Good luck!

Yeah, I gotta say I was shocked last night to see Chris and Paris in the bottom 3. Either it's rigged, or America is REALLY REALLY STUPID!!!! Either way, I guess I should actually vote next week. Chris deserves to win.

^BEST POST IN THE THREAD!!! Seriously though, the website has really taken over our lives. At the moment we each have 2 Full Time Jobs. Our 'normal' jobs, and the website! Robb and I each put in at least a 9-10 hours (including drive time) at our normal jobs, and then another 6-8 on the site EVERY DAY!!! It's pretty overwhelming at times.

I consider it the Cedar Point of Japan. Mostly old Flats, a bunch of coasters, no 'theming'. There are two JR Train stations about 13 minute taxi ride from the park.

Sorry to hear that Dave, I bet it was the evil cats! They didn't have you to chase around and injure so they went after Sadie instead!
